Interval Settings

Short story: If you are looking for a METRIC, DISTANCE INTERVAL app that will accommodate multiple rounds of more than TWO distance interval types at a time (i.e Walk 100m, Jog 200m, Run 300m for 7 rounds) this WILL NOT be your best option for an app. I was really hoping to use this as a MUCH easier way to get in some distance interval training, without a track or predetermined route. This app looked more user friendly, and like a more simple way to achieve my runs. Unfortunately, it’s no easier than another app I have. I can only program 2 intervals at a time, and have those repeat. Most of the time, I personally have more than 2 separate metric distances to run in one interval/round. So, I’d have to create 2 separate “intervals” in order to achieve my FULL interval display, and continue re-entering the intervals in the app, since repeating rounds only works for one “interval” at a time. Please make it easier to program for 3–5 separate distances in ONE interval at a time, and THEN the option to repeat the rounds. It’s a great app, when I only have 2 distances/times to run at a time.

Nice app for reasonable price

I bought this app because, unlike competitors that ask you to pay for a subscription, this one lets you get the full ad-free version for a small one-time payment. It has a clean, intuitive design and works great. At first I had trouble getting it to work with Family Sharing, but I wrote to the developer and he dealt with it promptly.

Works great with Apple Watch!

When I started running, I went through ALL the subscription running apps and came up short when it came to syncing with the Apple Watch on all of them! Although their plans and training programs are more robust on your phone, they either didn’t work with Apple Watch or were always out of sync. With this app, you pay once and you’re done. Then you have the flexibility to create your own interval training program. Syncs great with your Apple Watch and Bluetooth ear buds to cue your intervals!Highly recommend!

This is the one you’re looking for

If you’re like me and not a pro runner but want to push yourself and pace yourself.. this is the app. I’ve used C25K in the past and it’s great, BUT it was free then (or maybe a buck, can’t remember). Paying a hefty subscription is ridiculous. This app has some free features but it’s about $5 to unlock it all (no subscription) and it’s worth every cent. Works just as well if not better than the others. Simple, adjustable, clean. It’s def what you’re looking for.

Please Fix Voice Over!!

I love that this app integrates with my Apple Watch and that at the end of each run I can see my splits, average speed, calories burned, etc. What I don’t love is the unreliability of the voice over feature. I never know when it will randomly stop working, causing me to have to constantly check my watch. The last time I used it just a couple of days ago, every time voice over should have announced my stats and that another interval was starting, all it did was cut off my music and announced nothing. I ended up doing my entire run without music and without voice over. I want to give this 5 stars but until they fix this glitch I can’t.

Fantastic app but one issue

So I absolutely love this app but I'm not sure if it's the issue of the app itself or Apple fitness or what but I run this from my Apple Watch and I am an interval runner I love being able to set up so many different intervals as well as seeing my pace difference between the intervals… However when I look at the Mileage in Apple fitness there's a big difference. The run interval app will show, for example 6.7 miles and in the Apple fitness it shows I only ran 6.25 miles...So I do wish that they matched up better.Outside of that one issue though this is my go to running app!

Amazing

I have looked for an app like this for a very long time. I love the fact that it can alternate between distance and time in the same work out. I give it the 5th star now that it has an option to type in times and distance in addition to using the (-) and (+). It is intuitive, functional, and effortless to use. I use the app on ever running workout. If you need accurate work and rest intervals and some are time and others are distance this the THE app for you.

Best Running Interval App I’ve Used

This app is phenomenal! You can do everything from a basic, easy run, to detailed, custom speed intervals based upon time or distance goals. It’s pretty intuitive as well, making it easy to setup and use from your phone or watch. This app could very well replace all of the other run apps I use for training, and it’s extremely affordable! Much thanks to the developer!

Better than expected

I Run regularly with people who use Garman. One of the drawbacks with the Apple Watch is that you can’t separate lap time from overall running time. So it gives you averages but it doesn’t effectively separate segments in a way that you can track easily. This app is perfect. Setting up the intervals for track work is a breeze. Apple health does effectively pick up the segments, as does Strava. I’ve only used it once for a series of sprints, and I’ve been pretty happy with it. I did mine with a hard piece of distance an easy pace of no distance and just a rest and it all worked out. And yes this does sync with Strava. That part could be a little bit more clear.

Best Training App

I’m 68 years old and started to use this app to lose weight. I never was a runner and did not know where to start. In the beginning I set the interval at run .15 of 1/4 mile Run slow (Walk) .35 of 1/4 mile. Started running 1 mile and progressed to 3 miles using the same interval. Months later would run 1/4 mile Walk I/4 mile. After 8 months I ran my first 5K and finished 70th out of 287 and 4th in my age group (65 to 69) Today I run 2 to 3 miles per day 5 days per week. The benefits of running; After running 9 months I lost over 100 pounds ( 240 to 138) , no longer using insulin pump after 30 years of being a diabetic. I had two heart attacks in the past, cancer survivor and today take only one medication from dozens. Today I have no medical problems, Cardiologist and Endocrinologist can’t believe the transition. The App helps you start with baby steps and records your progress. My next goal is to run a 10KSuggestion for App: create a interval for walk and runThank YouTony D
