Only problems i’ve had is, swiping to go back has to be in a certain section on a thread or it’ll do a quick gesture to a comment on accident. not a big deal, but i wish there was a way to send awards, also buy or open the free awards. Other than that i love this app, don’t even realize i’m using another one sometimes.
Hooray, a Reddit client that doesn’t pull the crap that the official app does (like putting /r/all posts in your home feed? Like what?)! This one is my favorite. There are a few noticeable bugs. For example, sometimes a comment will be displayed below at the bottom of a short post before I start scrolling down, but when I do scroll, that comment disappears and I can never find it. Ellipses, for whatever reason, display like ••• instead of …
This has all the features that I couldn’t get with apollo or the horrible downgrade that is the current reddit app. My only grievance is that it’s not very customizable like other reddit alternative apps.Unlike Apollo, you cannot change the color of the app so you’re left with this very solid grey color when I would prefer a much darker color similar to the night mode for Reddit and other reddit alternatives.Another thing is the controls are slightly wonky, you can’t click a comment to collapse it but instead have to pull to the side (which will then stop, and then you pull again to fully complete the action). The font is also less than desirable. Makes the app feel very cheap, I wish there was an option to adjust it.All in all, a 4/5 for me. All the things I mentioned don’t fully hold back the functionality of the app, the video player is gorgeous.
I really want to love this app but you guys and every other third-party Reddit app developers ALWAYS miss the option to swipe through posts in your feed without having to back out of the post and scroll down. I don't need to swipe on comments to reply or flag or whatever. A button is fine. It's very nice being able to see the posts and comments all at once. I end up missing a lot of cool posts and discussions because I constantly have to click back and forth between posts. I'm sure this is done to appease oldReddit users who want to get away from the wall of text, but still want to feel like they're maintaining some sort of "control" of their viewing. Why not an option? Literally just add that one feature and it's an immediate 5 stars. I'd change my review.
One star removed for the constant nag screens begging for reviews. Asking once is enough, every time I open is too much. Some pretty glaring bugs, comments don’t load properly. The top comment changes when you scroll down. Swipe gestures are not sensitive enough, need to drag across more than half the screen to trigger the action. Should be easier to activate for those of us with larger screens. Ads are intrusive and no way to disable them at the moment. So just deal with it I guess? Plenty of other reddit apps out there that allow you to disable them for a one time fee. This is the most obnoxious issue I have right now. I do like the interface, I appreciate that this app focuses on your subscribed subreddits rather than dumping you into the cesspool that is Reddit’s default front page. Just wish it were more polished. Focus on the core function of the app and keep that polished and the rest will come with time.
Seriously, I’ve used Narwhal, Apollo, Slide, and many other reddit client but this one is great. The way the menus are laid out on the bottom are perfect. Don’t change a thing! No annoying sub-menus and everything is easy to get to. It’s very reminiscent of the official reddit app, but way better. I Don’t care much for compact views. My only gripe is that there are ads. I’d happily pay for an ad-free version of this app! Please make it happen! Updated to 5 stars.
I was browsing the app store for a new Reddit client, (I’ve been using the official one for a while) I’ve never liked Apollo or Narwhal, and I came across this! It’s amazing and the interface is so clean. But I’d like to see a couple things added-1. A “quick move” button, it will take you down to the next comment thread in the post. The official reddit app has it and it’s been the hardest thing to get used to.2. Different themes and icons that aren’t locked behind a paywall. Make some free user-interface themes and free icons. Maybe an icon for each color and stuff like that. And the interface themes could change the color of the Upvote and Downvote button when they’re not clicked yet, the color of the red when composing a comment or post, and some other colored features. You could make them for both Light and Dark mode. As the Official reddit app has styles, but only accessible in light mode.3. User and post flairs. Plus the ability to add them to your post. I can’t post in Sub-redddits that require a flair because I’m unable to add one. Please add this soon. And thats all I have to say! Great app overall, I’m just looking for a few things to be added.
I think aesthetically this app look and functions fantastically. The only things I’ve noticed so far is that I wish there was an icon to designate when a post is pinned and I also wish you could easily switch between posts and comments when viewing a profile, I know how it works now but maybe a tab system would be better to easily switch? Also maybe have the option to long press a comment to collapse? The current system works fine and looks really nice but it would be more convenient when I’m using my phone with only my left hand if I could long press. Thanks for the app!
I just migrated over to iOS and was really disappointed in the reddit app offerings. I tried the most popular ones but was really frustrated that they all seem to load some imgur gifs and pictures on the Imgur website rather than in a viewer on the app. BUT RENO DOESN’T! It loads everything naturally as you scroll and it’s absolutely wonderful! The design is also very pleasingly minimalist but also very functional. I also love that the night mode changes with the phone. Please add an upgrade option so I can support you developers! (And also remove the ads)
For serious Reddit browsing, I wouldn't use this, but for a never ending gallery of images, it's pretty great.A couple of things I would change: -when you click into an image to go fullscreen, it's not obvious how to go back to the main page. So far I've been clicking on the subreddit identifier which will take you to the subreddit the image you just fullscreened is found in and then you can go back to the overview. Unless I'm missing it, this is awkward.-A slideshow option would be fantastic, as would an option to show just the images without all the other chrome. Maybe overlay the up and down vote buttons and the upvote count.-Finally, make the NSFW toggle persist between launches, please.I should also point out: I've used this on an iPad and now I'm using it on a Mac and, aside from the above, it works brilliantly. If I could get the above, It's a five star app.
Reno is a pro reddit client, with super clean Instagram styled user interface, stacks of convenient features designed for reddit lovers. Reno is designed by the creator of iAlien, one of the most popular reddit clients back in the day. We discontinued the app because the official reddit client was great, it made no sense for us to make another reddit client.
