One of the Best Reader Apps

I love it, works perfectly, and appreciate the fact that can buy 1 app and works on ipad/iphone/mac. Not greedy at all, which is very nice. One thing i noticed, would be amazing if the smart folders can be sync to all devices under the profile, currently i've to create these on each device.

Great update and still works well with Feedly

I've been using ReadKit for years to access my Feedly account. This new, Apple Silicon-optmized version is snappier and slicker. I'm definitely a fan. And the app does everything I need without my having to pay for the Premium features. My only quibble is that I wish there were a button for marking all items as read. There is a menu item, but I wish there were a button too.

Developer unresponsive

Good alternative to Newsify and Reeder but with need for some minor fixes: 1. Reading and article doesn’t mark it as read and there is no gesture to mark all as read (eg, swiping down) 2. Background sync is random; many times it doesn’t happen for a long interval and it’s as if the app updates when it decides to. The Mac version can specify the sync interval so why can’t the iOS version? 3. Embedded tweets don’t display in the web view I’ve reached out to the developer multiple times and have never heard back. The main advantage of this over Newsify (which has some advantages) is the seemingly built-in content blocker support that fixes some problematic ads on various sites.ADDENDUM: I deleted the app. Never ever got any response from the developer and there were too many bugs on iPadOS and iOS (different bugs on each OS) and I’d rather use an app like Newsify that is well supported and works well.

RSS, reading curated by you

ReadKit is the simplest way to keep up with the blogs and websites that interest you without subscribing to dozens of newsletter. ReadKit is ad-free and has a simple UI. It’s a pleasure to use. It even pulls in all the articles I have saved in Pocket. It also features several subscription levels. All are quite reasonable. Highly recommended for all fans of RSS.

Best RSS App in the App Store

This is the one to get hands down! The clean interface, customization, and reading options are unmatched. The integration with all the popular rss and “read it later” services is great. Don’t think twice on this one. It’s worth every penny.

Lot of potential but not quite ready to replace the alternatives

I tried this app out for the free trial period and overall it has a lot going for it. There is much in the design that is reminiscent of Reeder, but is missing some of the design language that I've grown accustomed to. That alone isn't a deal-breaker, this app should be allowed to succeed on its own merits, but where it really falls short is in the basic expectations of a reader. For one, despite choosing background refresh, this app never picked up updates from my miniflux server. I always had to manually refresh to see what's new in my rss feeds. It also lacks some of the integrations that I would expect for it's read later service like being able to tag links that I share with it. Overall it seems like this app could be something great, but not until some of these major issues are addressed.

Fast app, responsive developer

Trying out ReadKit again with its 3.0 release. Love that one subscription covers both iOS and Mac. The iPhone app looks great and loads fast. And kudos to the developer, who responded quickly and helpfully when my third-party feed service had some technical glitches.

Great app, zero support

In my experience, the developer is unlikely to respond to support requests or feedback. I've used the app off and on since its earlier days, with the glasses and newspaper icon. Also, it's great that the app can act as a Pinboard client, but it doesn't use Pinboard's recommended API key for logging in, and hasn't responded to requests for including that as an option.

The Best Reader App

I love ReadKit. The developer is great and this latest cross-platform version looks better, functions better, and is in every way better than all competing apps, even those from big development teams. Unlike those other apps you will find no ads here and no one is stealing and selling your data. Plus ReadKit works with more apps and platforms than those other companies and more seamlessly. It's hard to make an app this robust feel this simple. The free version is generous and the subscription prices are fair and with all the extra features you get paying a little for something you will use this much is well worth the upgrade.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but when you find an app you love this much, you want to share it with others.
