Great but limited

I love the weekly picture of baby and adore then included heart earth. I think the journal is great, the checklist neat and the format pretty good.I do wish it was more inclusive and useful for people having home birth. There is a checklist for women to bring for their birth in a hospital but no such option for a homebirth. A homebirth checklist would be amazing. Example of some of the things a home birth checklist could contain: birth kit recommended by your care provider which includes medical pads and umbilical cord clamp, plastic mattress cover and double sheets, clean towels, a birth pool of intending to birth in pool, a way to drain said pool, snacks for birthing such as frozen grapes or coconut water, music if you want it. The list goes on. It would also be nice if the app was inclusive of medical choices like midwives. As it is, I do like the app, but since it doesn’t actually help me, I’m not sure if it was worth the money I spent on it. I’m going to recheck if there is an area to put in medical information as it comes too, but I do t think it has that option either.

Terrible!

I can’t believe I payed for this! It got stuck at 36 weeks and now my baby has been born for a month and it still shows that I am 36 weeks. It is impossible to contact anyone for help if something goes wrong with the app! There is not even an option to get help anywhere. The information they give you about pregnancy is not that useful and you can easily find it for free on the internet—same with images. The info on when to see doctors (pregnancy checkups) at certain points in pregnancy will not necessarily line up with how often your insurance allows it, so that’s useless. There were lots of other things wrong... to be fair the other apps I tried were even worse.

Disappointed and frustrated

I downloaded this app at the suggestion of another mom. I enjoyed seeing a realistic version of the baby week-by-week, until I got to week 33. The app then wanted me to pay to be able to continue to see what I had already been seeing. This is our rainbow baby and also IVF baby - we overcame a lot of obstacles to even get to this point, and even though it’s just an app, it’s kind of a slap in the face that I suddenly cannot keep up with the week-by-week updates for the baby. Sure, it’s not a lot of money, but I feel like it’s a total sham that they pull you in and then want your money when you know it’s getting close to your due date. Can this app developer not make their money in a less insensitive way? Pay for doctor notes or tips or something? Frustrating.

Good enough

It’s really good to help me keep track of where I am in my pregnancy. I don’t use the journal so not interested in the future. What I don’t like though is when the app gives its opinion on what you should or should not do during your pregnancy. They have a ‘The Doc Says” section which gives you a new piece of information everyday. I would rather have these information focused on the fœtus development, your body changes, and perhaps advice on things to help with pregnancy discomfort. But don’t tell me what I can or cannot eat, drink or do during my pregnancy. Also not a big fan of the “name ideas.” Instead I’d rather know another scientific fact about what’s happening in my body. Talk about relaxin, physical changes in my body (not just the baby’s), fun facts and anecdotes about certain things that happen to certain women on a specific day of their pregnancy, etc. But please STOP giving me your opinion on what you think I should do during my pregnancy. Also, perhaps you guys should read the book “Expecting Better” where the author gives us all of the raw data while giving us the opportunity to make our own decisions. That’s what I would expect from an app like yours.

Not worth it!

I’m on my third child and I see no need to pay for an app like this with so many good ones out. This is only the first, I would use the sprout baby app to track my nursing and pumping times but wouldn’t have permission to track my babies development unless I paid which seemed weird because there were ads on the nursing pages. I know you get paid from advertisers when I accidentally click their links while trying to update the app with one hand while nursing so why do I also need to pay for the app? I’m at 24 weeks and it still says I’m 12 weeks so just beware that you will only reach 12 weeks pregnant according to this app unless you pay.

So informative

Where to start when you find out you are pregnant?! I’m pregnant with my first child & this app was referred to me by my sister who LOVED Sprout! I bought the $5 version which gave me a list of helpful questions to ask my Dr. on my first visit. My husband and I have loved seeing “the baby”3-D images at the first few weeks of knowing we are expecting. There are parts of the app which I haven’t used yet like the kick timer and contraction counter, but I’ll be sure to use this to help me through the end!

Prepare to be talked to like a child

I don’t know who’s writing the “The doctor says” advice section, but I can’t imagine it’s anyone who’s been a pregnant adult. So far, it’s said that I’ll be a “monster mom!” due to fluctuating hormones (maybe just tell me that I’ll have stronger emotional reactions because of the hormones), and reminded to say “Excuse me!” when my relaxed muscles cause indigestion, among other “cute” tidbits of advice. If men could get pregnant, would you talk to THEM like this, Sprout? Yeah, I don’t think so.I just need information that will help me understand what’s going on as my body and baby changes. I’m an adult and I expect to be talked to like one, regardless of whether there’s a baby inside of me.

Very able to have

This app is one of the best apps out there it gives a lot of advice help in any other accessories that you will need throughout pregnancy. There are a few things that I would fix, having to pay to see where your baby looks like that month and I think that we should be able to not pay and be able to see what our baby looks like that month however I love this app. I used it once and it was a miracle.

Narrow Focus

I'm an SMC (single mom by choice). There are a lot of us, as well as plenty of women who are in same-sex relationships and plenty of women who are left single and pregnant not by their choice. Of all the pregnancy apps, this is the one that's the most heavy-handed about assuming that a pregnant woman is a part of a heterosexual couple. Most pages have prompts asking about how dad is doing and have suggestions such as "ask dad to help...". Other apps mention fathers, but it doesn't feel as presumptuous. It appears as though Sprout has never considered that there isn't always a dad and there's nothing wrong with that. The only reason I bought this app was for the week-by-week interactive fetus, which is worthwhile and better than some others.

Good App but PUSH to buy paid version

I enjoyed this app, however, there should be a disclaimer or more information provided on what information is available on the free version vs. the paid. I would go with a different app because other than the 3D feature it gives pretty much the same info but pushes you to pay for it. Moreover while downloading or setting it up, it never says anything about only be free for two weeks on this version. Looking at the other reviews, the developers also said it's only free for the trimester which is pointless if you're trying to track the whole pregnancy but can't justify why you should pay for information that is on other apps free. I've used about 7 different apps and while user friendly, I can't justify paying to just see a 3D image when all the other features are free on similarly rated apps. PRO: User friendly, 3D imageCON: Unclear paid features, provides same information as other free apps (except the 3D image)
