Weird bugs and design choices

For a premium game, this is somehow less polished than the free version, which makes no sense. The timer still exists, limiting the amount of runs you can do in a session, and there’s a nasty bug that resets your character’s stats to base level every time you restart the game. Only way to revert it is to level your character up at the restaurant, and you need to lose health to do that, so you have to die to a monster and purposely throw away a gas can just to level up again. If this bug isn’t fixed soon, I’ll just go back to playing the free version. I’d rather deal with ads and lose my diamond moves than deal with a game breaking bug like this

Great game bogged down by pay2play model

Super fun and well designed beat ‘em up but the game becomes a major grind as you get further. The original game was designed to incentivize you to buy in game currency and the Apple Arcade version does little to undo that model. There’s still timed energy refills to limit your play and the previously purchasable in game currency (diamond) is scarce enough to discourage you from even trying to obtain them. If the developers can make diamond more obtainable and reduce the cost of in game upgrades, the game will easily be a 5 star title.

Big annoying bugs

I love the gameplays loop dunno why they kept a gas timerAnd I have 2 big bugs that make this game 1 starWhen the game is closed and opened your stats return to level one until you get another level thru food then it jumps back up to the stats you should haveNumber 2 is that I have the sound and sound effects turned off cuz they constantly peak in my headfones and hurt my ears yet every time I reopen the app from being closed both the music and sound effects are back. On full boats in spite of the lil settings dudes saying there offPlease fix and my rating will change this is very very annoyingEspecially the level up bug cuz it’s only gonna take longer and longer to be able to play again Thank you for reading this devs I hope the patch comes quick

Very fun game, but not many additions

Let me be clear, PPKP is an AMAZING game. It takes the puzzling strategy of turn based RPGs and amps it up to 11 with thrilling and satisfying beat-em-up combos. However, for an Apple Arcade version, there isn't much to be seen. The new way for getting gems is instead of breaking out your debit card, you go into a sewer full of monsters and beat them up for gems every so often. The problem? Not only is this the *only addition in the entirety of the game for this version* (save for a few minor UI changes and a save file/backup system), but it's also... slow. I did some testing, and it takes 32 enemy kills to recharge it (24 for the junkyard), which is nearly 3x the amount of enemies in a stage (12). And the amount of gems you get per run is 15-25, so it would take about 15 stage runs on average (you could just grind the first infinite level for kills, but that's repetitive and boring) to earn 100 gems.That's the minimum to unlock anything with them, besides one time gem recharges for things like refueling and getting a new junkyard car. 7 stage runs for 100 gems, which would take around 2 hours just to get enough gems for a single cheap unlockable... yikes. The game itself is great and easily accessible title, but I expected a bit more. 4 stars for me.

The game is better than I expected even better than the original

I love this game it deserves five stars it doesn’t look like it has weird designs it doesn’t have bugs and I love the counters thank you for creating this game ❤️

Consistency.

Games need to stay under a certain rule, keeps the rules you put in play. Now you level up means nothing through the food because enemies level with you. Dumbest idea in a video game. If enemies are harder in different spots they shouldn’t level up with you. Also the bosses are inconsistent with damage. I’ll hit shield for 10 damage then he hits my shield next hit for 39. Not kidding. Sad apple gave this joke of a game money when 4 year old Chinese girls still make the phone I use. APPLE LOVES CHILD LABOR.

Good idea not well executed

This game is really fun, at first. After a while the game just gets super repetitive. There is different places you can go to but it’s just the same thing over and over again. You can buy different combos and special abilities but it doesn’t really change gameplay. Like I said this game is fun at first but then it’s repetitive. Just because of the repetitiveness I deleted the game.

Game stopping bug

I love this game, but absolutely can not recommend it in this state. After playing until level 10, force quitting the game after saving to cloud, and returning my character is back to doing the same damage as he was in the beginning. I was able to get to state 31 before quitting. Now I can't even make it to 15 because even the attacks enemies are weak against are doing 3-5 damage. This game has been out far too long to still have an issue like this.

Fun but needs an update.

I enjoy the game but every time it loads up, my attack and defense is back to nothing, until I level up from healing. It wouldn’t be as big of an issue if there wasn’t a limit to how many times you can play before you have to wait for more gas cans. (Which, by the way, is ridiculous that you have a limit to how much you can play in one session)

Great game, few issues

I love this game. I’ve been playing it any chance I’ve gotten over the last 2 weeks. I’ve also noticed some things. 1) Changing SFX and Music volume doesn’t change anything once the game reloads. For instance, if I turn off the sound completely, leave the game then come back to it, the sound is back on full volume. It’s really annoying.2) Sometimes the buttons just don’t work. I know I’ve pushed a button to initiate an attack, but sometimes my character just sits there and lets the enemy fall to the ground.3) Tutorials/Guides. We need tutorials and guides for new players. I’ve been able to figure just about everything out, but there are still some things that don’t make sense. For example: Leveling buffs. In order to level them up you need to go into the house and select them. This was never made clear (could’ve been my fault), and has resulted in me dumping a lot of time into one buff thinking I was leveling them all. The starting area is also confusing until you start tapping around. I just feel like an explanation of what everything does would help new players significantly.That’s it! Other than the above issues, the game is amazing. I would highly recommend this game if you like arcade style beat-em ups.

The laboratory has them. From special goggles that let's you see the monsters weaknesses, to power ups that will make you the best monster hunter, the laboratory has them all. Some power ups will gain experience if equipped at your house. - People Tapping on people in the city will give you some nice hints. Animals also deserve some of your tender taps.
