Really fun! Would recommend

I haven't played the physical version of this game as the artwork never really caught my attention, but I bought this app when it was on sale, and I have loved the game play! Strategic gameplay made more challenging by adding additional players and on hard mode. Would like to see the expansion added for additional challenge or a new level of master AI opponents as I can see this becoming too easy over time.Cons:- You have to wait in game for someone to join your online game because if you leave to a different screen, it removes your game from the list and takes you offline- I cant figure out how to get several of the achievements and nowhere online seems to have answers- Once you understand the strategy, becomes too easy without other challenging opponents

One of the best board games ever

I don’t quite get it: why is there an average of 3.4 for this lovely game? It’s a really aesthetic and artistic game; the animations, the music, hell even the queer names are so great! It doesn’t have any bugs (at least in the offline mode), doesn’t consume too much battery (even has an option for saving it) and is a lightweight app. If you have eyes for pure sense of humor, artistry and sorcery, definitely get this; you won’t regret it.

Interface needs work

While everything looks beautiful, it isn’t a good layout of the game. You can’t see what your opponent has unless you click on them. Too much of the screen is taken up making the players layout look good an not enough is devoted to showing the other players. Game needs to play in landscape mode really with the sides of the screen showing all 4 players and what they have (at all times) without requiring you to click on them. The dragging of marbles to your potions is buggy and refuses to work sometimes. This needs to be fixed also.

Perfect casual game for tabletop gamers

I got sick of all the IAP casual games with their time delays, ads, and booster backs. You have to pay for this game and the expansion, but after that it just works. There are some more rules upfront than your average game, but that means there is also deeper strategy. Took me a day to be able to beat the hard AIs about 80% of the time. Might move on to multi-player soon.

Fabulous game, slight bug.

My family and I love this game, both the physical and app versions. My only issue is that with the newest update I can not complete the Graduatus Classis Cautionis achievement. I’ve won multiple games against the bots at various difficulties and not triggered the Professor often enough to preclude the achievement, but it doesn’t click to complete. Great game, just annoying for someone who likes that 100% completion! I’m on an iPhone XS and do not play online, if that matters.

Fun but sometimes unclear.

There were some moments when I thought the game was stuck. Either I couldn’t select a Potion or move on. Turned out when using the Potion of Prismatic Joy you need to hit the tag below the Potion, not the Potion itself. Also had moments where I thought I needed to select a new Potion but the game was waiting for me to make a move. If your new and not paying attention it can be frustrating. As you play more it won’t be an issue. I do wish they had a beginner option that gently reminded you, where you were in terms of your turn or where you need to hit or tap something.

Near Perfect Fun! Just One Thing...

Extremely fun game. It made me run out the next day to buy the physical games. The one thing this game sorely needs is an Undo button. I would limit any Undo button to only going back one move maximum and only if someone hits the Undo button within a time limit of say 5 seconds or so. If they put that in, it would vastly improve the game with the easy to make missteps that are immediately apparent after tapping. It would be like allowing someone about to drink a potion to “get it to their lips” but change their mind before drinking it when they immediately realize it won’t have the effect they thought it would. It would also allow someone to put a marble they accidentally pulled back in the rack (if done within the time limit).

Very Buggy

Love the game, and have played the cardboard version several times. I run into at least one instance per game (usually immediately following the final turn of the game) where it hangs indefinitely. The app needs to be completely restarted in order for the game to continue. I also have experienced on numerous occasions where the Play! button does not appear on the turn order screen. Instead it just hangs.I can't recommend this app until these issues are resolved. Honestly, the game deserves a better implementation than what I have experienced thus far.

New expansion is buggy

I enjoyed the original game but it became kind of same-y after a while. This expansion solves that problem, but introduced some bugs. The expansion tutorial froze on me the first time I tried it so I had to force quit and start over. It worked fine the second time, but my first game was a disaster. Every once in a while when I used an ingredient from my pool, it didn’t disappear. I couldn’t use it again, but it blocked a slot. On my next turn, the problem fixed itself; at least until it happened again. Once it did it to two ingredients from the pool which totally stunk because now two slots were blocked. So whereas I could have filled the pool with colors I didn’t need and used a potion to make them wild, I couldn’t do that and lost the game. Please do more extensive testing before releasing updates. iPad Pro 12.9 (first release) with latest released iOS.

Great translation of board game.

A fun game and if you are a fan of the original board game it is a must have.My only issue with the game is when you are create an online game and you are waiting for a player to join your game becomes unplayable until someone else joins it. This is a huge issue as I have never seen more than two players online at a time. The ai is too easy so the developer really needs to fix this issue. This would be 5 stars if the online issue was fixed.
