Amazing app but one little suggestion
I love this app, it helps me focus and stay on task but The first time I was using itI wanted to test out what it would do if I switched the app or it’s on my home screen nothing happened so I assumed that there was no notification then the time I was using it for real I’ll stayed productive for about 45 minutes and at the end when I went to check on my tree it’s at the task had been disrupted .A suggestion for me would be that maybe you guys could add a notification when I switch an app and go to the home screen. Otherwise this app is really really cool and helps me stay productive for a long long periods of time thank you!
SO HELPFUL
I love Plantie!! It’s helped me so much with staying on task and focused, and I’ve become so much more efficient. I used to spend all night doing homework because I would constantly be distracted, but I set a certain time for myself to do a subject and it pushed me to finish in the allotted time. Now, I finish homework before dinner, and I have a lot of time to do what I like to! I also like that feature where it won’t let you exit the app or else it will restart your task and you don’t get the coins. And I like the fact that you can change that setting too!
Best interface and simple design
I used to use StayFocusd and Flora before, but they were clunky and just didn’t feel like the right thing. They had too many bells and whistles or just dull interface sections. Plantie has a very slick and sexy interface and navigation as well as the features are very smooth. Thank you for putting this effort developers and founders of this app, your app helps me manage my attention span which would be otherwise unruly without Plantie’s help! Five stars and I recommend this to students or office workers who just want an app for undivided focus without too much hassle.
Minor Bug
Hi! I’ve been using Plantie for a while, and it’s really helped me stay on track with my tasks. But, recently I’ve noticed a small issue— sometimes I would open the Plantie app while I have my time to focus still going, so I could check how much time I have left. Moments after a close my phone, it would send me a notification saying my task was disrupted. This would occur only when I wanted to focus for 40+ minutes, and I don’t exit out of the app. This has been happening a few times, and I just want to let you know. Thank you! :)) And again, this is just a minor issue.
It was amazing…but.
Oh my god this app is amazing it helped me find motivation to do things and as someone with extremely low motivation who gets easily distracted, this is amazinggggg!! I love the interface, it’s simple and perfect. BUT. I stopped using it for one reason-there aren’t enough plants. I don’t know, but for me, I was working towards unlocking them, and when I got them all, I lost motivation with this app. Just adding a seasonal plant isn’t enough, pls make many more plants, that look different or unique, that are colorful or weird or something. My goal was always to get coins to spend on the plants. Now I haven’t used the app in about a year… yeah. That long. And there has only been one more plant added since then. I understand that this is not an easy request and would take more time and effort, but I realllyyyy think this would make me more interested and keep me and others using this app!!! :)))) ok sorry it’s so long, I hope y’all take this into consideration
Better than expected + suggestion
I’m honestly surprised that this app doesn’t have more downloads! It’s simple and straight to the point. The design isn’t cluttered nor complicated, and it does exactly what it says, help you stay off your phone so that you can study, work, rewind, etc. I’ve been studying for an exam lately and this app has helped me stay organized tremendously. I’m a sucker for nice and clean visuals on apps and this app has that, which I think makes it a very competitive app. Perhaps the only suggestion that I could make that could make this app even better is to have the option to add a more ringtone like notification when the timer is over. Personally, I’ve noticed that sometimes I’m so focused on the subject I’m studying that I don’t even notice the quick notification sound, so I think making a bit longer could help to make sure you actually realize your timer has ended. Also, I would really love it if the developers could add a few more free options that you can buy with coins!Other than that, I think it’s a great app and highly recommend it :)
Helps keep me motivated
I love this productivity app! It’s simple and easy to use, and it helps to keep me motivated by using coins as rewards! I can’t wait to buy a new background! I can sync it up to my Apple Watch and get notifications from there so I don’t have to look at my phone all the time. ***One critique/suggestion that I can give to the developers would be to add an option for continuous task!*** When I have to get on my phone in order to manually start break times and task times I tend to get distracted by other notifications and social media. I would love the option to just work continuously for a few hours and take breaks/get back to work when I’m prompted to by my Apple Watch or by the notification sounds from the app without having to go into my phone every time.
Against all odds...
...this works! Like many others right now, I've been working from home since the COVID-19 quarantine became mandatory, and I have been having AWFUL issues focusing. My productivity went down by maybe 30 percent, and I was worried it might become a permanent issue. But not with this! My eight hour workdays are now totally bearable, and I can now schedule 50-55 minutes of focus time with 5-10 minute breaks at the end of the hour. My productivity returned to office-level heights. The app is pretty, functional AND fully-fledged all while remaining completely free. The other productivity timers either require a purchase or have limited capabilities—don't waste your time. Stick with this.
Fantastic for my ADHD
I’ve tried all kinds of task timers and they always do more than I need and start to feel like a chore. I kind of need constant stimulus to keep up with anything. This is the beauty of this app. It’s INCREDIBLY simple and it’s gameified. No task lists. No groups. Just a timer that gives you points if you make it to the end without switching apps. That little bit of motivation to stay on task and the frequent dopamine hits of being rewarded for it have kept me focused on work in a way I haven’t been in ages. I highly recommend this for anyone struggling to stay focused at work.
Suggestion
Hopefully this doesn’t get buried beneath all the reviews, but I thought of a possible addition to the app! I often have a lot of different homework tasks that I need to complete, but I’m not sure how long it will take. I think it might be helpful if there was a section on the app where you could input a list of tasks needing to be done, and then for every task that you check off, you can get coins! I think this would be beneficial because it’s hard to gauge how long each task(such as writing an essay or doing a math problem) will take. I know the point is to work for a certain amount of time, but for people who like to work based off of how many assignments need to be finished before you can take a break, I think this addition could be helpful. Thanks for your awesome app! :)
