Holy moly Ads for days

More ads than I have ever seen in a game. I have no issues with ads to get gems, coins, speed things up, or even the occasional mandatory ad ever so often. I downloaded, played, and deleted this game all within 10 minutes. That said, about 8 and a half minutes of that was watching ads. Three of which, I voluntarily clicked on to gain a reward. Which I would have gladly continued to do throughout my playing session to support the devs and gain a small reward in return. However, I was bombarded with mandatory ads every few seconds afterwards. Because of this I lost any and all interest and immediately deleted the game. Devs, I understand the need for ads in game to fund and support you. But holy moly that was ridiculous. You could have and would have gained a lot more funding from me and I am sure many others if the ads were voluntary and not forced down our throats every half a second. This seemed like a interesting game from my short time playing, and it is regrettable that it was pretty much unplayable within the first few minutes.

Ad Interrupts Are Ridiculous

The first ten or so minutes are fun enough. Progression is fairly smooth and soft-guided; you get some prompts with rewards, but you can ignore those and just said around having your cannons go “pew pew”. Frequently enough there’ll be prompts to watch ads for more gold, the primary resource, which I took a time or two. After those first ten minutes though, shortly after you first expand the map by upgrading the lighthouse, once. Every. Two. Minutes. *AT LEAST*. The game will stop play for a full screen ad. You’re about to sail over a chest of gold? Ad. You just pulled up to fire at another ship? Ad. You’re trying to figure out what to upgrade next? Ad. You’re in the middle of trying to kill a Kraken boss while avoiding its tentacle summons? AD.I managed to upgrade my lighthouse one more time before I threw in the towel and uninstalled.

Fun but a serious issue

This game is very fun if a bit repetitive. But I did not find myself being upset by the repetitiveness. I found myself enjoying it thoroughly the entire time I was playing. Until I got to the level with the Godzilla monsters. They are absolutely and unequivocally way over powered. I was having so much fun with this game that I powered through the Japan level even though I had to kill 15 of things. After two more levels, they reappeared. And unfortunately, I am not going to be dealing with that again. They kill you in under three seconds even with full life cool attack three cannons and everything maxed out. Not only that but there been does not miss unless you have an insanely high evasion. If that gets changed, I will continue to play this game because I thoroughly enjoyed it. Until then, it’s not worth it at all. Without those monsters or with them being less powerful, this would be five stars. The fact that I’m still reading at three even with that incredible blender, shows the fact of how fun this game really is.

Wow finally!!!

Devs you hit a home run! Thank you so much for the update! You hit some major pain points and cleaned/polished the game. You have just enough ads where I don’t feel the annoyance of inundation of ads. I really don’t mind “saving” the stranded sailor. A paid ad free version would definitely be something I wouldn’t mind Paying for. It’s a well thought out game. There are a few bugs that I still notice. You fixed the ratio issue on iPhones but still see ships stuck in land objects. You’re still getting 5 stars from me! I also have a pirate symbol attached to my ship now I’m not quite sure what it’s for. I’m also able to shoot things outside my circle of influence which I think is not intended.Updated: so it seems the “next island” button is either broken or I’ve somehow reached the last stage. It says “You’re the greatest pirate in this sea” but doesn’t prompt to progress. Looking forward to the next update.

Too Many Ads… And Now Game Killing Bugs…

I want to like this game. I really do. The game play itself is very interesting and fun. Unfortunately the game is overloaded with ads. I don’t just mean the ones you have to watch to get bonuses (extra gold and so forth, which I’m more or less fine with although I’ve never really stuck with any game that requires it to this level), but just random ads will suddenly pop-up in the middle of play… and these ads can and will get your ship destroyed. Totally unacceptable for a game of this type. There’s no pay option to get rid of the ads either, so you’re permanently stuck with them. And just today a bug cropped up that causes the Ship screen, where you set your crew, to lock making the game unplayable without closing it and restarting… and as soon as I went back to the ship screen, the game locks up again. As it stands, I simply cannot recommend this game in its current state.

To the Developers of this game

I have been looking for a game like this for years for the app store and finally found it! When I open it and started wrecking other ships throughout that whole time to the next island I was given about 50 ads. It would be nice to pay 99¢ to disable ads like most mobile games. Or to come up with a different idea for making money other than ads. Another thing that ruined the game for me was when I reached the second island and I had already reached level 5 for my ship on the first island I was so happy cause it was bigger. Then I was extremely disappointed to notice that my ship was back at level 1 it was smaller and I lost all my gold and barrels... The only thing that I had was the level for my pirates. If this is what the game is supposed to be I am saddened to say that I will be uninstalling this unless it is changed cause I don't want to have to grind on every island to upgrade my ship to a Galleon. The game is fun when you can listen to the music and blast some ships with your (UPGRADED) Ship and not have to worry about “If I leave this Island I'm gonna lose all my progress and have to restart from square 1 again”. Anyways I hope the Developers acknowledge this and maybe even respond. Better yet I hope this Pirate Ship issue gets fixed or changed cause it's pointless to just go to another island. I have plenty of other things to talk about that can improve this game but these two are the top 2 for me. Thank you!

Ad issue

The concept of the game is amazing and well bought, graphics for its interior is amazing! I love the game, but I can’t play for more than 2 minutes at a time because the ads are at the bottom of my screen where I need to access things in the game and can’t do that with the ad in the way, you should have done it where every so often you have to watch an ad rather have one pop up and never go away where I have to keep restarting the game and it ruins it for me. 1 star, unless this is fixed I won’t be playing again as mad as that makes me because I love this game and would love to give it 5 stars for it deserves just that. Doesn’t seem like devs really care with how many people complain about ads to actually fix them so. Out of 3000 reviews, 89% of them are completely annoyed with ads and uninstalled game.

Ads to lag

This game could be one of the most fun easy to navigate stress relieving game out there except for two things the ads are insane, they come every few minutes or more and these ads completely disrupt game play and create major lag. Of course there is the option to get rid of ads but it is not a permanent solution like other games, oh no, you have to buy parrots and each parrot frees you from one ad. Now as I mentioned the ads are fast and furious so if you wanted to play for an hour without ads it would cost you probably around a hundred bucks or more… no longer stress relieving or fun at this point! DO NOT GET THIS GAME IT WILL JUST CAUSE YOU HEADACHES AND HEARTACHES!!!And to the developers I understand you have to make money but this is ridiculous! You also better watch out you are obviously rigging the review data because when you break it down there are a ton more one stars than are reflected in the graph and way less five stars in general and obviously from companies hired to boost ratings… this is a deviously inaccurate review system and the App Store should investigate.

Devs actually care

I don’t get how some people write essays as reviews so I’m going to keep this one fairly short. I’ve played over 360 mobile games and this one nearly tops all of them. There are a lot of ads. Like a lot. However, I’m rating five stars because the devs actually update the game often. I assuming the game is newer as I’m writing this but there’s been 2 updates the past two days that add really helpful features. Out of all of the games I’ve played, I’ve never seen devs care or update their game this much. Also, the game is pretty fun for just wasting time. You bassicly just have a pirate ship and upgrade using supplies you get from sinking other ships or killing large sea creatures which helps you also complete quests to let you travel to different oceans and do the whole thing again. I would definitely recommend this game to anybody.

Too many issues. Fraudulent. Do not spend money

Fun enough. Drive your boat shoot bad guys. However two BIG issues. 1. There is no iPhone/ipad cross play or progression. If you play on one none of your data is carried over including purchases. 2. Purchases are not recoverable if anything happens to your iPhone or ipad, like you have reset to system defaults. I have an email from developer saying this as it happened to me and I inquired. I spent $100 for a boat and gems all lost due to a random ipad issue. It is not a Game Center signed game so it does not carry into iCloud. All your progression and purchases are gone. There should be a clear warning from the developer about this. So basically play at your own risk and hope no bugs, phone/ipad issues occur and you lose everything. Game has a fun premise, but seems like a ripoff. Too many adds for everything unless you purchase parrots, which is a lame, just charge a a flat rate for no more ads periods. The company seems to want to nickel and dime you more than they want to provide a fun, engaging game with quality customer support.Updated 3/5- all in app purchases disappear once you close the app. Upon opening the app, all progress, purchases, ships gold and diamonds are gone. The reverts back to the beginning. I have called Apple and told of them of this issue and reported the app provider as possibly fraudulent.
