Just What I Wanted!!

In the past my iPhone came with a complicated exercise program. All kinds of confusing things. I Just Wanted A Simple Pedometer to tell me how many miles I walked. Not my heart rate. Not if my steps are uneven. Not to choose goals. And I could Never go back and seeYesterday’s progress again. I tried multitudinous ways and nothing worked; it’d bring up More programs that I didn’t want!! My 2nd happiest day of exercise was when I deleted that program! My happiest was when, after sifting through too many complicated programs, was to find THIS ONE!! Exactly what I wanted with the only pieces of information that “I” wasLooking for!!! Thank You!!! So Hapy with this!!

HTH

I think it’s just a little bit too low when using steps and mileage. I walk 5.2 miles the pedometer shows 4. 87. Still a little off. Doesn’t count accurately walked 2.6 miles this mourning an only counted 2.07 miles. Would like to see steps and mileage for the year on this app. May 14th showed 1.8 miles actually was 2.6. It’s getting worse, today I walked the same distance anywhere d only recorded about half of the steps. Do you read this stuff or just collect information?

Stops recording prematurely

This app frequently stops recording while in use, which defeats the entire purpose of having the app! Otherwise, the features for tracking distance, calories, time and cumulative steps are very nice. Please consider updating the app to fix the premature stop problem and also include an option to record continuously vs start/stop recording. I use another app in parallel that is very reliable but doesn’t display data like this app does. One workaround I found is to update the data by poaching the data from the other app. However, I shouldn’t need two pedometer apps to collect the data I want.

REVISED Due to user error [Didn’t Work - Kept Asking to Enable Notifications]

REVISED REVIEWI wasn’t aware of the other settings that needed to be enabled. I only realized it when I downloaded a different pedometer app that had more clear instructions on what had to be enabled on my phone. As someone who has never used the health related features on an iPhone, the pop up notices on this app made no sense. Now that I know that “motion and fitness” refers to a setting on the phone, not the app (which the other app made clear), it makes sense. In fairness, I decided to give this app another try. So far, the step count seems accurate. (Original review)The app kept asking me to enable notifications for it to work. I enabled notifications, however, it still kept popping up with notice to enable and wouldn’t work unless I did. It would have been nice to try it out, but the app itself won’t let me. Had to delete it and try a different one.

It works great!

At first I didn't like it because my walking speed always stayed crazy-slow: See, the app was averaging my most intense 1-hr fitness walks with 16 sedentary hours I spent at home. I LOVE it now that I use Settings to switch from Low-Energy Mode to High Precision Mode. "Low" uses the iPhone chip to estimate your movements, and barely touches the battery. "High" uses other means to ·precisely· measure stride, speed and distance. It runs the battery down but it makes a fitness walk really interesting! I'm motivated: Speed MUST be 4 to 5 MPH! The rest of the time I revert to "Low". My speed reverts to 2 mph around the house but I don't freak out😉 App is simple, doesn't need managing or second-guessing, it just works. And hey, it’s FREE!

Excellent and accurate

This has worked flawlessly for me. I like that it consumes very little battery, is always updated when I first open the app. Easy to read and understand. The only thing it is missing (and this seems to be missing from all such apps) is a resettable trip meter or two. Sometimes I simply want to know how many steps I’m taking for this one walk in the middle of my day. But I have to remember to write down the start and stop steps and do the math. It seems so simple to have a resettable trip meter. I’ll pay you for it!And I would give you five stars.

Data imbedded in phone app

I downloaded this app and found that my iPhone's version had back data (no. of steps, etc) already loaded -- for days that I hadn't owned the app! So I tried to delete this data and there doesn't appear to be a way to do this. Oddly, the iPad version of the app doesn't show this "historical" data, but on the iPad version, there is a way to delete it! Very Strange! Since there are many very good apps competing for this function, I decided to delete the app and try somebody else's. Too bad. I gave it 4 stars, because wasn't able to try it. Perhaps it should have fewer because of this problem, I don't know.

When it works.....

When it works it works fine but occasionally it does not work. When I walk what I know is about 500 steps and it records 21 steps, I would say it does not work. Works most if the time. Would like to be able to register a goal so i can see how well i do each day. I have started doing it manually. That’s for sure. I have selfcounted the places I walk from or to ans kept a list. So when I walked somewhere I just manually put the number of steps I’ve done. The difference is amazing. When I let the app count I usually come up with a few hundreds in a day. When I manually put in the steps I take I usually get into the thousands. Big difference. When it begins to be accurate, I’ll stop doing it manually and let it do what it’s supposed to do—accurately count my steps. It’s probably popular because it’s better than the others, or doesn’t have so many bells and whistles. All I want is something that will accurately count the steps I take during the day.And the last two days it recorded nothing. I walked, was busy and didn’t add manually and it recorded nothing for two days.

Does exactly what I needed it to do!

I retired four years ago and have gotten increasingly lazy. I did the walking thing around my neighborhood for a period of time but scaled back due to weather and other concerns. I began using another app for some walking in place in the house but it wasn’t to my liking so I tried this app and found that using it on my iPad which was just sitting in a drawer was perfect! Simple and quite frankly fun to use. Everyone has different tastes and needs but it’s worth a try if you’re looking for a fun and uncomplicated mechanism for tracking steps, miles stepped, and some calories you may have burned, this may be what you’re looking for!

Very Good

Very clean app. Not encumbered with unnecessary features. One could make the point, why in modern society are we concerned about counting so many aspects of our lives anyway? At least this app allows for narrowing the view if you want to count. That’s a good thing. Many apps go with, “let’s choke the recipient with features”, rather than focusing more narrowly on doing one or a few things simply and well. The Apple Health app falls into the “do it all” category. Talk about over the top and cluttered. OMG.
