Another Fantastic App From Duck Duck Moose

We have all the duck duck moose apps on our itouch and iphone and this one is just as brilliant as the rest! Our almost 3 year old loves it and we love that this application is a really great learning tool (while allowing us some extra time out at dinner or while traveling). The illustrations are so spot on for little kids (And I find them adorable too). I can't wait to see what they do next...

Bright, Fun, and Full of activities!

First off this game is so colorful and fun looking I knew it would be a hit with my 3 year old. There is so much to do in this app that I don’t even know where to start! Each little game has an activity within it that is educational but so much fun my sons doesn’t even realize he is learning! Some of the games he does guess at since he doesn’t understand counting too well yet, but I do think the game is helping him and he is only 3 years old. To navigate to a different game you just tap on the bear and he skates to another random game or you can click on the kite to choose a particular game or level. Each activity does say what you need to do like “Feed the hippo 5 green apples” but if you miss that there is no way to hear it again which I wish there was a way to repeat the instructions because I think it would help my son if he kept hearing the instructions. Now he just comes to me and points or just keep tapping or dragging items. Overall though the game is very cute and engaging. The illustrations are nice and kid-friendly and the background music is fun. I can see kids getting bored maybe with some of the activities after awhile, but there are so many to choose from that they can easily move onto the next. My son plays Park Math all the time and has yet to grow bored of it!

Another Great One

I buy every Duck Duck Moose app for my 18 month old. She loves them, and while she can't do the math problems on this one, there is plenty to play with. She loves feeding the hippo. Her 4 year old cousin also loves them all. They'd be great at least through Kinder. All games have nice graphics, good sound, clear directions.

Park Math

Another terrific offering from Duck Duck Moose! My 3.5 year old has loved his other apps for almost a year now and this is a great addition to the set. The multiple games cover a wide range of abilities from basic counting to sorting, patterns and basic addition and subtraction. It's perfect as sometimes he just wants to enjoy the funny animation and count with the swinging bunny or feed the hippo. Still, it offers enough challenges with the other games, without being frustrating. Having the additional level is another great way to extend this program. While it is certainly more advanced than Fish School and more directive than Itsy Bitsy Spider or Old McDonald, it still features the same terrific animation, head and shoulders above so many of the shabby looking kids apps out there. I can tell this will see us through many a boring trip to the store or long airplane ride. My only request would be for an iPad version! (I didn't think I saw one?)

A beautiful game

Love how the math activities are open ended. My son can go from screen to screen, at his choice and pace. It's also great that there are multiple ways to learn on each page. For example, in the slide page with ducks, you can do addition by just looking at the ducks, by tapping the ducks on the ground and watching them go up the slide, or by looking at the equation at the bottom right. It's nice that you can navigate to any other screen, by touching on the kite and going to cloud kites screen. The bear skating from screen to screen is both cute and elegant. It's good that there are levels of difficulty too (wish this iPhone version had a 3rd level, like the iPad version). Lastly, I like the variety of math exercises that are presented.

Engages my 2 and 4 year olds!

Our 2 and 4 year old love Park Math! The four year old is now really interested in the addition and subtraction activities -- that they've made really engaging by allowing kids to manipulate the animals and objects. I thought the app would be too advanced for the two year old, but there are plenty of things for him to do -- with all the great graphics, cute animals, and interactions. I've just noticed that he's now counting along too!

Good ap

This is a good ap, and worth the money($0.99). I really wish they had thought through a couple things: like others said, they should repeat the instructions if you make a mistake; on the duck level, it talks about the ducks climbing UP to make the correct number. But when you press the correct number instead of the duck or ducks climbing up to show the correct amount, the duck slides down and they all disappear, so the child never sees the correct amount. Same with the apples: the child guesses the correct number to fall off the tree, but the app doesn't show the apples falling to show the child the correct amount on the tree. Please consider fixing these small things! With these fixes it would certainly be a five star app.

The best yet!

My kids love all the Duck Duck Moose apps but this one is their best yet! This one tops it off with very well-thought-out math lessons. In this app, kids can move a bear around the park -- to to play on the swings, sandbox, slide, and seesaw. Like all the Duck Duck Moose apps, the interactions are really engaging and colorful. Park Math has creative ways for kids to learn math while they're playing! The BEST.

Another home-run from Duck Duck Moose!!!

My 3 year old daughter loves every other DDM app I've bought for my iPhone, and this one is no exception. The animations, graphics, and tasks are all engaging and enjoyable for her, and she's always asking to "play iphone!". There aren't any other children's educational games that get more use on my iPhone than the ones made by DDM. You can't go wrong here.

A fun way to learn to count, order, add and subtract!

This App is adorable and positively reinforces skill building with lovely background music and sound effects and interactive characters and graphics. The ordering scenes are especially fun and effective in reinforcing the quantity and cardinal ordering of numbers at the same time. The visual cues help for addition and subtraction, e.g., how many apples are left when one falls? You look at the tree and see two. It's not just an abstract question but the abstract numbers are there too so the idea is reinforced both ways. Great job!
