I don't know how, but Orbot is completely bricked, either iOS and Orbot updates or ISP limitations (Russian ISP, traffic maybe blocked by DPI). Either way, Orbot is NOT STARTING. API access functionality is useless and should be removed, since we can only work with Onion Browser from traditional VPNs, untunneled or improperly tunneled Tor traffic is caught by the ISP and blocked. Traffic masking should be worked on, big trouble with obfs4. Orbot should be brought up to adequate and reliable operation. Updates should be done under the necessary supervision of The Tor Project, otherwise the Orbot and Onion Browser officially supported by The Tor Project will not work properly.

Please add kill switch Block connections without VPN., and Connectivity. completely different Tor Circuit (different middle relay and exit nodes) for every domain you connect to.

Not working

One of the problems that Orbot has in iPhones is that in iOS version 15, for example, it connects to iPhone 7, but in iOS version 16, it does not connect under any circumstances and does not exceed more than 50%, for example, it was tested on two iPhones, iPhone SE and iPhone 13

Content blocker stopped working for the second time

I have a couple content blockers I use in safari, and then I have some DNS content blocking going on as well. I’ve always used Orbot to block things that are still there and now, for the second time in around 2 weeks the content blocker has completely stopped. I went through the motions trying to debug it, rebooting my phone, disabling each content blocker and extension leaving only Orbot to run, killing both apps, disabling content blocking entirely, and deleting all of orbots rules did not seem to work. I’m unsure what the issue is. Also, whenever enabling the VPN, if it doesn’t start showing that is has made any progress at all, the cache has to be cleared first and then everything works just fine. Maybe this is more of an iOS issue, but I haven’t done anything differently with my phone anytime recently. I still haven’t updated to iOS 17 eitherA feature request that I would have would be to allow one to disable the content blockers individually within the app without having to delete them. That would be very nice

Oh Yeah

Thank you a lot for this release! It works with custom bridges from the website.There are some bugs though: German words in the toolbar, and only icons in the toolbar always reverts.

Nonfunctional and messed up my phone’s wifi connection

I tried a good 10 times with different configurations (including the “smart config” option a few times) to get the VPN to connect, and it failed every time. I then realized my phone was no longer able to connect with any WiFi networks (of course doing all the usual tests: checking the router, checking wifi on another device, rebooting phone, etc). It only began to work again once I deleted this app and all its data. I liked the onion browser before this (though it was a tad slow), but now I can’t use it at all which is very unfortunate…

Popup Detection Broken

Love the tool, especially the content blocker, however after the last update the popup-detection has stopped functioning.To replicate, block popups from all domains and then, go to a website with popupsIs it possible to get a fix?

Doesn’t show up under purchased apps

What I find strange is it’s installed on my IPad but it doesn’t show up in my list of purchased apps. Does anyone have any idea of why? My plan for running it at my library is a three step process. 1. Start Orbot with Snowflakes 2. Open the DuckDuckGo app. 3. Restrict all my searches to DuckDuckGo, Bing, or Yandex. 4. Try running it with the Yandex app. The biggest problem is getting your search engines to display in your native language. Most of the time but not all of the time you get dialogue wanting you to verify something you can’t even see… Most of the time all you need to do is return to the last page you were on. It should run just fine out of the box. The default Tor Browser for Windows runs without a hitch at the very same library. Just tested it at my library. Didn’t have to open anything special. The alpha test version worked just fine. However I did have to turn off Snowflakes and bridges. Turned out the beta version worked just fine straight out of the box with no special settings required. If you have problems running in a pacific country consider trying out and becoming a beta tester. It worked just fine with Google Chrome. The beta version was almost as fast as running normally with no VPN at all. Please consider trying out the beta version. It fixed almost everything for me.
