New version almost perfect

I have used the old app for a couple years, and the new version caught me by surprise. Sure, there were problems and missing features, but the developer immediately jumped in to correct things. I e-mailed him about one last missing feature and got an IMMEDIATE reply with a promise of a fix in an upcoming update. This great-looking app is usable now, enough to earn four stars. Fast developer response and the promise of coming fixes earned the fifth star. Give this app a chance; it really is very good!

Great interval timer app!

It took me a long time to research and ultimately choose an interval training app, and this one seem to be the most customizable. I have a few complicated routines, and I was able to program them all with this app. It was a little time consuming to set up in expert mode, but in order to get everything I needed, that was the mode I needed to use. If your routines are a little simpler, the simple mode will be good enough. My only complaint for this version is the skip forward button for the music always takes several taps to work, while the skip back always works the first time. Not sure if that's an app or iOS issue. One wish list item for the next update would be to have the ability to skip or redo an interval, much like the ability we already have to skip or replay a song. One more wish list item would be the ability to import and export routines. I have "sold" this app to several people, but then I have to sit down with them to create the routines. It would be fantastic if I could just send them the routine.

Very good, but needs a couple things

This application is almost there, but there are a couple things it needs to be perfect:1. Since iOS4 came along, when the screen times out, the sounds don't play any more. You can work around this by changing the screen time out to never, but this still needs to be fixed for iOS4.2. Would be very nice if you could hear a warning not just when you're about to go from "on" to "off", but also when you're about to go from "off" to "on"3. Would be nice if you had the option to have one last "off" interval after the last "on" interval. (My "off" intervals still involve walking, so they're not nothing.)4. Would be nice if when you have a delayed start set, that the music changes when the first "on" interval begins like it does at the beginning of the other "on" intervals.Love the app. Wouldn't have taken the time to write this if I didn't.

Good app

I had previously paid $150. for an Everlast round timer that adjusts times for rounds and rest and has sounds for beginning of round, end of round, and warning sound before end of round. What this iPhone app round timer does in addition to all that is that for $1. I also get changing colored screens for rest, rounds and warning, and it integrates music from my library so that each round has a different song. (Does anyone want to buy my Everlast machine?). I have my iPhone docked into a small Logitech dock so I hear the music and timer sounds as I am exercising. Suggested improvements:1. Make the volume adjustable separately for the timer sounds and the music sounds (if this is possible within the confines of the iPhone operating system) because I prefer that the timer sounds be much louder than the music to more easily distinguish the two if I have some heavy metal music playing.2. Make an adjustable length pause for the music when the timer sounds play, again to more easily distinguish the timer sounds from the music, for example, maybe a 1/2 second between the starting bell of the timer and when the music starts. I think there is a little pause now but I would prefer it to be a little longer so it would be easier for me to hear the timer sounds separate from the music. This is a very good app.

best timer ever

BUY THIS APP! if you are a serious crossfitter who works out at home then you need this app. No more fumbling with timers, no more needing someone to shout out when to switch stations in a wod it's all here. It even comes with wods programed in like fight gone bad. And if you need to put a wod in no problem go to settings and get to work. I just downloaded my work out mix chose my program and plugged it into my stereo and BAM instant partner timing my wods. Clock gone bad programable clock $140 this app 99 cents it doesn't get any better than that.

Great first impressions.

I've been looking for a way to time my yoga sequence with prompts to remind me of which move is next. This app comes with presets, and comprehensive programming abilities. So I can customize times, names and even the sounds. I love using this will enjoy fine tuning it for my needs.

Ok for just $.99

Pro's : Easy to change songs w/o going back to ipod/itunes and loosing your spot. Does it's job w/ giving you a timer (alert) when you schedule it. I am using it for the Jeff Galloway run/walk timer. Worked great for that. Con's : You can't change the alert sounds (sounds like a basketball game buzzer) and the biggest issue of it.... Once your round it over your song changes!!! Could be very annoying once you really get into your workout and the music and then it just stops and goes to another song... GRRRR I can't image that going unfixed though. It is a big issue.

Missing one thing

Great app! It works extremely well. However, one very important thing is missing. There is no audio cue for the end of the last round. Thank you for providing this app. It is exactly what I needed to begen my interval training, and is the best interval training app in the app store.Update: Responsive developer. Thank you for incorporating my suggestion. I love the crowd cheering at the end. Excellent choice - bravo!!! App also works flawlessly with my music.

Simple and more complex routines

For walk-run training, this app works well. Probably would be fine for biking. Appears to be able to do 299 rounds, which could be more than 7 hours on my routing, plenty adequate. Have not taken it to that time period yet so cannot say if the app actually works that long, LOL. Some don't. Have not used it for any more complex routines, so cannot rate its performance there. Because I didn't read the information screen first, it took awhile to figure out how to have the music just play straight through without changing songs for different intervals and random start locations (hint, only turn on "avoid shuffle" and use the iPod app to start the desired playlist. Pausing the timer also pauses the music. Never did figure out how to set the choices in the app so as to have the app play the playlist without changing songs upon new interval after a while, wish there were more detailed instructions.Sometimes hard to hear the interval begin-end sounds over nearby traffic, could be solved by using a headset.
