NLT for todays reader
Though the King James Bible is easier to commit to memory due to its more poetic arrangement of words, for me the NLT is best for understanding what scripture is saying, especially in Paul’s writings. He tends to be very wordy and goes back and forth in his thoughts, and I get confused and lost in the point he is making. The NLT removes that confusion because it reads like I talk and think. I highly recommend this Bible translation to all who want to understand what God’s Word is saying. This Bible is NOT a paraphrase like the Living Bible was, but a literal translation from the original Ancient texts.
Rating of the NLT Bible
I use many translations including the King James Bible as I study God’s word. Many years ago my grandmother gave me a parallel Bible of this and the King James versions. I find this one increases my understanding and also helps me to encourage new Christians or younger people to read and understand the Bible better. I prefer these two over many of the others and feel although it is a paraphrase it usually stays with the true meanings of the Bible from not only the King James but the Greek and Hebrew languages.
Great study tool with some limitations
Love reading the KJV (my primary go to Bible) side by side with NLT. It helps me “translate” some difficult passages from the KJV. The reason I am giving this app 3-stars is because it has a bug, which I can work through but is annoying. Frequently it only displays part of the verses in a chapter. It cuts off the last few verses and the only way to display them is to close the app and launch it again. This usually happens when reading several Chapters and swiping to the next chapter; the next chapter has the bottom few verses cut off. The other thing that is annoying is the audio is not the same as the printed verses. This is particularly annoying when you are trying to read the text along with the audio.

I first found out about this Bible from a patient of mine. She was reading the Bible and I went over to her and asked her if it’s the Bible she was reading. She said yes I look at the Bible and she explained it to me. I told her I would prefer this Bible causes and play in English so she gave her hard copy to me. I just found the app on my phone so I don’t have to take the Bible everywhere I go it’s on my phone I love it. I will share it with friends. I love that I can understand what I am reading. Thank you so very much for this.
Under perform
This did not run smooth at all for me I was not happy with it and I even paid the five dollars for advanced thinking in advance that I would like it because of the reviews. That was a mistake. Was not very easy to operate highlighting took multiple tries to get it correct. At times it only load part of the book and then I had to reload it again. Also paying advance for the voice part of it it did not move with the Scriptures so you constantly had to scroll the Scriptures by hand if you wanted the voice to match the location this is old and should be way past that process. also there’s a video on there that we are to watch but I could never get that video to to play it just Kevin bringing up the Bible so I’m assuming he just didn’t work. very disappointed I was hoping it was going to be as good as some people gave it five stars I did not find it that way at all. sorryJL
AMAZING!
I am a Christian, have been since I can remember. My only problem has always been that I’ve wanted/want to be close/closer to the Lord and live in his word but, to do so you have to read his word and there in has been the problem for me, I’ve tried so many times and so very hard to read the Bible but have never been able to truly understand it/the words/language until I found this App and version of the Bible! I have now for the first time in my life been able to read, understand and enjoy Gods word! This App/Version of the Bible really helps break the Bible down in a way where someone like me can understand it and know that they can have a better, closer relationship with the Lord because of it. So I want to thank you and whoever wrote this version of the Bible! God bless!

This is a wonderful Bible App! No glitches, no difficulty with keeping one's place in the book, clear and simple. It is a dream of a Bible App, compared with so many out there with their constant and intrusive advertisements.This translation is great for easy comprehensive reading of Books in the Bible to get a clear picture of the Book or chapter and what it is saying.Thank you for this very usable app. It is a blessing.
NLT BIBLE
An excellent Bible with outstanding tools and applications. Cannot figure how to establish and save notes, nor how to highlight certain Scriptures. This is the best Bible format that I’ve ever used. Still unable to use all the available tools, however. Have been unable to learn the use of some of the valuable tools incorporated in this Bible. I find this Bible and it’s applications to be the best I’ve ever used. I just can’t find the instructions for those applications. My review is the same as stated above, I’ve still not figured out how to use some of the tools incorporated in the NLT Bible. I still cannot figure out how to use some of these tools that would make this Bible even more helpful.These reviews are meaningless as there is never any response given to the negative or positive reviews.
Easy to understand and navigate
It’s just beautiful how the pages turn when you click on the arrow and are ready to move onto the next page, almost like turning the pages of a book. It’s us also easy to underwire language so compatible to our every day American English along with the convenience of having it handy at all times. I’m in ministry so this is important to me. I absolutely Love it and highly recommend it!

I appreciate this app for the new living translation and it is handy on my phone. thank you so much I wish it was easier to use. If you are in Matthew 12, then you want to look up John 2. Then you have to go all the way back to genesis. Maybe you could put all the books closer together like you put all the chapters which are in little blocks close together. Thanks
