Perfect

I've tried soo many clock apps and they're all terrible, except for this one. This app is simple and the time is displayed nice and big. Nothing happens if you accidentally touch the screen, unlike some others that take you to menus or activate a feature.The only weird thing is that after you upgrade, the clock type (12hr/24hr) switch disappears, but is still clickable. Everything else works perfectly, however.Also, it doesn't ask for any permissions. Many thanks to the dev for this app!

Never without this!

Once I discovered this simple and elegant night clock, I stopped using a clock radio or any other clock. Red is the only color of light you should have around you at night, and this easily adjusts to brighter or dimmer with a swipe. It's terrific for traveling - at home I sit it on a charger on my night stand but for travel I can prop it anywhere in the room and brighten it to see it clearly. One of the most useful apps I've found. I use it every night.

Turns your Alarm off

For the 3rd time in the 2 weeks I've had this app my alarm went off, I hit snooze, then woke up 45 minutes later to a screen that's still on at full brightness and an alarm that hasn't went off again. I thought at first that it was just a coincidence that this happened after starting to use the app. Now I'm convinced it's the culprit. I use the volume or power button to snooze my alarm. There's no way I turned the alarm off myself because you have to tap the screen for that. This app is keeping it from going off.Cool idea. Horrible execution. Looks like I'm gonna have to break down and just go buy a real clock if I wanna know what time it is in the middle of the night.

Have to pay for upgrade on all devices :-(

I purchased this app on my iPad, as I usually use it for my bedside clock. I will agree with many of the other reviews that this clock is superior to the other ones I have tried in the area of dimming. I have searched far and wide for a bedside clock that won’t keep me awake with its backlight. This clock has the dimmest face I have seen and I love that about it. However, in order to achieve a level of dimness that won’t keep me awake, I had to purchase the upgrade for the thin font and the dark blue/purple colors. No big deal - I don’t mind doing that. BUT when I tried to use it on my iPhone, I found that the upgrade was not included - I had to purchase it again for my phone. That feels like a rip off to me. Just sayin’.

Possibly My Favorite App

This app does EXACTLY what it says it does: it displays the time in a very easy to read format. I've used it on my nightstand every night since I downloaded the free version a month or two ago. I continue to use it just as it came because it does a simple thing very well and without any need to fuss - i.e. it displays the time in a large clear red font. Nevertheless I upgraded to the paid version simply because I felt it only right to pay for the brilliance that brought this app into being.

Does one job, and does it well

I have a few iPads that are over 10 years old, so they will not run much current software. One or two of them are plugged in constantly and run as clocks with this application. The application has run 24/7 for many years with never a problem.I like it on the iPad, because the numbers are big enough that I can see them at night in bed without having to put on my glasses! When traveling, I can run it on my iPhone overnight, while the phone is charging, and if the phone is close enough to the bed, I can still read the time.

Just Perfect

Tried a few of the more "feature rich" clock apps but I liked the built in iPhone alarm so I was thrilled to find this "just right" clock app that I could use with a small stand on my nightstand. Beyond the basics...swipe to dim, proximity sensor (turns off screen when face down to save battery when not charging) and direct assess to the flashlight are features I use every night. The addition of the colon on the last update gives a real clock like feel when in landscape mode.

Needs one more update and then I will give it five stars

#1 can/would you be able to update this app so The date is at the top of the clock plz and 2 when you're listening to music or just in general it needs a MusicPlayer at the bottom of the clock if you turn that setting on in the settings that way I can constantly be there and if you need to play music you can just play it from the clock and then if you want to go into the album you can click on the album and it will show the album and then show the clock in the day and time above them

Has a mind of it’s own! Kills iOS alarm clock

I really wanted to give this 5 stars! I like the concept enough that I purchased the upgrade. I wanted the smaller font so it would not be so bright. I like the smaller fonts and other colors. But this thing seems to get brighter as the night goes by!!!! I set it dim, and I notice it’s brighter in the middle of the night or morning. But even that pales with its incompatibility with my iOS alarm clock. I set my clock, WITH a snooze. When the alarm goes off, a box pops up on top of the clock, and as soon as I touch it, it kills the snooze and the alarm. Just turns it off!!!! Not ok, and unless it gets fixed, no more Nite Clock.

FABULOUS!!!

I tried a dozen dimmable clock apps over a two year period. They all had the same problem - the more I dimmed the numbers, the brighter gray the backgroud became. Even the best of the bunch threw enough light out, from the background, to light up the room. When I woke during the night and glanced at the screen, it was so bright it caused me to squint. Then I had to roll over, with my back to the screen to go back to sleep. Otherwise, I could sense the light through my eyelids. Don't know why I even tried another app. I had given up up on finding the right one many months ago. Tben I found Nite Time. It is about as close to perfect as I could have expected to find. The background is vastly darker than the other apps I tried - almost pitch black. This one causes no squint whatsoever when I wake at night and no light penetrates my eyelids. Without the bright background of other clocks, I can dim the numbers all the way down with this app and still read them easily - even with the super skinny font, Helvetica UltraLight, which I use. As a bonus, the numbers are very large. I can read them, without my glasses, from several feet away. That's a must for me. For someone wanting a better night's sleep, buy a good mattress and download this app. Kudos to the developer!
