The TrueDepth Camera uses an infrared emitter to project over 30,000 dots in a grid pattern that are recorded by an infrared camera. This information is used to calculate spacial depth "pixels". NightVision processes this spacial depth information into a color gradient, thus exposing the geometry of a scene without visible light.
