Problems with the new update

I have been using this app for almost a year on my iPad Pro. I enjoy using the NET Bible in hard copy. To have it, along with all the notes, on the iPad is a great resource! However, after the most recent update the search function no longer works. I can navigate text fine, the notes are all there, but when I click the search magnifying glass icon the app crashes. Please fix this and this app will be back at five stars!

Where is the audio?!

I usually use the NET website, my Thinline NET Bible, or the you version app for my reading. I downloaded the app believing it would be basically the same as the website, but no dice. No audio options! Bummer as I really love to read & listen and go back and forth between the two throughout my days. NET team, thank you for the best Bible translation I’ve come across in 28 years as a believer, BUT…y’all need to get into the audio game! Perhaps add the audio to this app, or at least the dwell or youversion apps?! Pretty please!!

So much easier to understand

This app is great, i can adjust the font , bookmark . I now tale an interest in reading the bible in a more modern form of the english language. People say they only read the kJV and its the best, well the best would be if you could read the original hebrew, greek and armaic . Reading this bible is better then not reading another bible that you struggle to understand.

VERY detailed

As a non-Christian I was looking for a bible that contained detailed notes about the history of the bible and that contained a healthy dose of literary criticism. This is certainly it. Very detailed, thoughtful notes on translation issues as well as historical, theological and sociological issues. Even cites the specific mss in question when the authenticity of a certain passage is investigated (though the notes do a good job of explaining the evidence to the point that you don't necessarily need to be familiar with the mss themselves). Four stars, however, because even with the exhaustive attention to detail present here, there is still a rather clear bias towards elements of the historicity of the biblical accounts. But, I guess that would be too much to ask of a team of biblical scholars!

This is a fantastic app for intense bible study!

There are many things to love about this app. All the text notes are absolutely awesome, but one of my favorite features of the app is the page turning effect. It feels like I’m turning the page on a physical bible. I LOVE that feature! I’m a person who uses multiple different translations for deeper study. It’s awesome to add this to my ebook library. Highly Recommended!P.S. - I would love a “words of Christ in red” feature on a future update of the app. Thank you!

A must have app for bible students

This translation is my second favorite behind the NRSV since it's hard to find a readable, accurate mid-functional translation. The OT is translated w/o interpretation from the NT. And done so by Protestant evangelicals no less! Talk about an trans. honest to the text & not theology. And don't get me started on the fairly neutral( though sometimes conservative) notes! So helpful and informative! Only drawback is the lackluster psalms. If they update the poetry some more & this may be my first choice Bible.

Great translation; need more functionality

Love the NET and the incredible notes. I use this app often. I would however love to see a feature that allows me to scroll through the passages rather than just turn the page. Most reading UI’s at this point are scroll and so every time I use this app I find myself really wishing the feature was available.

Love the version

Love the version. Love the app and the features but it quit letting me select a book of the Bible. It would only let me select the current book I was in and a chapter of that book. Please fix this as it is my favorite to use out of about 10 different Bible apps that I have. This inability to select a book keeps me from using it all together and I have to choose a different app.I rebooted and that didn’t help so I deleted the app and reinstalled. I didn’t want to have to do that because I had multiple notes and highlights that were very important to me as I am an avid student of the Bible.

One think I would like to see fixed.

I love the app and it is one of the best resources I have. I especially like the translator's notes as well as the study notes. One thing that is a minor annoyance on the iPad and iPhone apps is that when a verse is highlighted, the page normally changes and it is necessary to go to the other page to highlight any additional verses. Sometimes this happens more than once when trying to highlight a passage. Like I said, I really like the app overall, but this is something I would really like to be fixed in a future update. It's the only thing that kept me from giving a 5 star rating.

Great

It’s great to have the NET translation with Notes on my phone. The app is great, especially when one considers that it is free, after all. As others have mentioned, the one drawback is the handling of the notes. Since the extensive notes are one of the main draws of the NET, it would be better if there was a way to have the notes accessible in a better way than the pop-up form, like a separate area of the screen or something. But again. Free app, and everything else is elegant and intuitive.
