Perfect for onboarding and replacing VTTs.

This app is absolutely fantastic. Probably the best digital tool I've found for onboarding new players.My favorite way to play is in person with pen and paper, but playing online has become a staple for me as well. VTTs often feel cumbersome, so my preference for online play is to purely play it through a video chat service. I can already tell I will encourage all my online players to use this app in the future.On top of the functionality, it is also an appealing looking interface with a great selection of character portraits.

What can I say, it’s clean, it looks good, and it works well. I love the character portraits and enjoy how sleek it feels, goes perfectly with the mothership setting. While I will most likely be having my players use pen and paper for the first little bit, I will have the app on deck to quickly generate new characters when one of them dies.

Very Useful

Ran a MoSh one shot the other night and needed pregens, was able to crank them out in minutes with this app. No PCs ended up dying until the end of the session but if any had this app would have been super useful to roll up a replacement PC in no time. A must for keepers and players!

Incredible free tool

The best part of Lancer is COMP/CON, a free web app that will guide you through the trials of d20 mech combat. While this doesn’t provide as much utility for the schmuck running the game, in terms of player utility, this is Mothership’s COMP/CON. I will be recommending this app to all of my players with phones.

Great stuff

Lotta great stuff here! Helps you do the math for character building, has dope portraits to help visualize people, and takes out lots of the legwork for shopping. Honestly, the shopping math alone is one of the most difficult things of ttrpg’s, so I’m stoked this app helps us out with that :)

Excellent app!

This is an incredibly useful tool for players and wardens alike. Character creation can be done in under a minute with the randomization feature. Custom characters only take a few more. I’ve been running Mothership for over a year and feel like this lowers the barrier of entry for new players even further. Great work, Mothership team!

Excellent companion TTRPG app!

This thing is great and I hope these catch on across the hobby. The flexibility with what I can export is also wonderful. Being able to spit out a sheet is a great option. The table functions are super helpful and rolling has never been easier! A critical hit of a TTRPG companion app.

Future upgrades

It would be really cool to have a DM part of the app where you can create a lobby for your players characters and keep track of there stats and such. Would really like to be able to have a more immersive side of getting my characters paid for their completed jobs and stuff like that. Just a suggestion!

Blew my mind

I didn’t think I could get any more excited for the soon to be releasing Mothership 1e… and then this companion app released.I can’t wait to get this app to my players. Character creation is a snap (and fun!), rolling dice through the app is a breeze and opens up the ability to play *anywhere.* The design of the app is simple and striking. Fantastic stuff.The only thing I’d like to see is an option to make the character illustration full screen so you can introduce your character to everyone at the table by holding up your phone. Such a minor detail- this app is so rad!

Great for remote play

My friends live out of state so I’m forced to play games remotely with them on Zoom or Discord. We started a Mothership campaign before the app came out, and used it for our final session, and it made a huge difference. Most of the players are novices to the world of TTRPGs, and you could immediately sense how much more at ease they were using the app. They could hold their roll results up to the camera for everyone to see, it streamlined stat checks and inventory stuff, and, frankly, it made everything look a lot cooler. Even I, a physical dice classist, found myself charmed by the layout and presentation. I’ve already rolled my character for the next campaign, and I can’t wait to dive in with this tool available from the get go.
