It generally seems the iOS app can get out of sync with the actual router config sometimes, at least in the advanced part of the app. Doesn’t happen often BUT leaves you questioning if the “update took” or overriding stale/null configuration attributes. For a network management tool, these these should be rock solid. Even the “Report a Problem” has a problem - it lets you type a problem, even attach a screenshot. But then the “Send” does nothing. That seems like a bug. The app has been released for a while but has some obvious bugs, yet not regularly updated. Why the poor review. On a positive note… for viewing some things, like LTE or WiFi signals, this app is BETTER than winbox or webfig. But this app making config changes where I’d be caution about using this app.
More than 1 year without update this app?1. Rotating the app screen 180 degree not working. 2. Home screen or dashboard cant be customized i.e. why can’t I able add some statistics on home screen for quick access and monitoring. 3. This app may also missing show all connected user in simple way in one location Please create screen to show all connected user though dhcp, wifi, ether, ppp, … 4. Skins are missing also why? Skin only works with web app only not for winbox and mobile apps? 5. Creating quest wifi for user experience missing also !6. App disconnect just put in background?? And connection stability issues please enhanced it. 7. This app can be optimized for user level also not just for professional IT user. Thanks and I wish developer this app takes these things into account.
It’s good to have a Mikrotik app, but it’s not even close to the web interface, especially on an iPad.A few (IMO important) quirks:1) No landscape mode on the iPad? What is going on? It used to work, if I remember correctly. Now, out of nowhere, it’s stuck on portrait mode. It’s not good and I already have an aching neck.2) I can see the registered devices on each wireless interface very neatly on the first screen. Good. But I can’t do anything (like remove them etc)??? Why is that? Is it just half-baked?
This app is perfect for a quick on the go MikroTik access. It has everything you will need. I still prefer working with these devices from a desktop, but this fits the need when you are on the move.
This is a great app that I use pretty often to manage MikroTik gear. I wouldn’t want to do everything with it, but it is handy to view and manage the basics while on the go. It used to also support running on the Apple Silicon Macs, but sadly that capability was withdrawn. I’ve never had a problem with it.Of course, when doing serious or more involved things, I use the command line or WinBox on a computer.
I only run a minimal hEX S at home, balancing having to keep everything up for the family and my desire to tweak the Homelab. I’ve bounced around to a few different vendors and always come back to this little, amazing, gigibit-capable router because of the sheer amount of options and stability it’s shown me. This app is merely another added benefit of the Mikrotik ecosystem, and I find myself relying on it more and more especially as our family navigates kids being online. Well done, again, Mikrotik.
This app has come a long way. It is not quite a full replacement for the desktop app, but it is close. I’d recommend any MikroTik user consider this tool as part of their toolkit.
We've used WinBox for 15 years and it was quite satisfactory. Now we can dump Windows totally and use this iOS equivalent for router maintenance. The UI is nicely done and looks great in dark mode. Would be nice to see a few more levels of detail on some pages and in landscape mode but otherwise perfect.
MikroTik is a company made by geeks for geeks. Their equipment is quite capable and very affordable but their user friendliness is severely lacking. From the standpoint of user experience - Using MikroTik products is like stepping back in time to 1990’s. This app is no different. With exception of 3 screens - they have simply copied their menu structure into a phone without regard for mobile device as a unique medium that needs to be approached differently from the UI standpoint. This is one ugly and unfriendly app and that is a shame. MikroTik makes very capable and reliable hardware that is very affordable. But their user interfaces are archaic, ugly and downright primitive. Too bad!
There’s a lot to like about this app. A couple of things are odd though:1) switching apps instantly logs you out 2) checking for system updates for RouterOS is far from intuitive On the plus side, an upgrade button appeared on the main screen and it successfully upgraded the router. Browsing all the different config menus wasn’t bad either.
MikroTik RouterOS is the operating system of RouterBOARD and CCR devices. RouterOS provides all the core features for your network - routing, firewall, bandwidth management, wireless access point, backhaul link, hotspot gateway and more. Use the MikroTik smartphone app to configure your router in the field, or to apply the most basic initial settings for your MikroTik home access point.
