Great content, buuut...
I stream the channel from my phone to a google chromecast. When my phone goes to sleep or back to the home screen I lose the ability to control the media. Very frustrating! Especially since I upgraded to premium membership. Please tell me there’s an update on the horizon...2/7/18In response to the developer’s answer: is there a timetable for a fix on this? I want to use this app more often, but am continually frustrated by the interface!
Small problems
i LOVE the app, it's really cool and kind of unique! but the first biggest problem i noticed is that there is NO SUBTITLES. older movies audio isnt that great, so subtitles would be super helpful. another big problem i have is there is no fast forwarding or rewinding buttons while watching something. this is bad considering you can only do so by the bar at the top which is hard to get to a specific time. i also dont like that there's no full description for the movies when you click them, at one point a sentence just trails off with periods. if you guys going to do that then maybe let there be an expand option for the rest who want to read it all. also, the menu feels a bit cramped. it's kind of overwhelming with all the covers of the movies. if you guys fix these things (albeit the menu thing maybe) then i would glady pay for Pulp+
Good but has some Issues
Great content but the app has its problems. It’s sometimes unresponsive when you try to add a film to a playlist or back out of a section. So many films you can’t view any info because it’s “pulp premium” but you can view those movies on the TV app and only some of the premium films are actually labeled premium, so navigating can be a little irritating sometimes. But playback is good, it otherwise run well.
I've been looking for an app like this forever
The content on this app is unbelievably precious- right up my alley! I'm so happy that someone decided to give the (other) people what they want. The only thing I would say that makes things difficult is that when you try to return to a movie after a few minutes outside the app- you lose your place. Simple convenience tips for the user friendliness but other than I think it's fantastic!!
Love The Selection
Really great collection of all kinds of weird, fun movies. Have enjoyed pretty much everything I’ve seen. Playback and video quality are solid and the app has never given me problems. Even upgraded to premium. Like this app a lot!
Ads the ads oh my goodness the ads
I absolutely love the collection of content on this streaming service but I pay for this to have 4min of ads for every 8 mins of actual content....kinda ridiculous I will be ending my subscription
Growing pains?
Navigation is my biggest issue with the app, but it is a young app. I expect this is on a list of items to improve on whenever time or resources free up. There are a few goofy things with the UX, like movie descriptions are so far away from the selected movie. There is a playlist thing that happens. One movie ends and the next one from the menu starts to play afterwards. I actually like this. It reminds me of falling asleep to late night tv and then waking up to who knows what. App is growing. Content is good and varied.
First & last review I’ll ever write for anything ever
I have never once wrote a review for this very reason. I wanted to use my one and only review on the app that I’ve always wanted. This gives me the scifi/anime/horror I want to watch and can’t. Thank you Midnight Pulp. 🖤
Big fan
Lots of great content on here. A reasonable library available for free too! One tiny complaint I have is that my status bar icons don’t turn white when I’m using the app. Not a big deal though.
Love the Free movies! Classic pulp! Horror!.......
First, I would recommend you somehow warn folks that there are some things here that might offend (older and kids). I have no problem, that is what pulp is. Animated, horror, BAD movies, I enjoyed that the content is much more diverse than I expected plus there is an upgrade available for even more better ‘stuff.’And of course, you had “Plan 9....” so you had me immediately!But what really got my attention is the review written by “Xoxoxo jay jay jay home” in spring of 2018. he is passionate about wanting old movies to be available for free, “ especially REALLY OLD ONES from before 2000” ! (my caps )LOL, . Perception of age, so relative, chuckle.Since I’m 70 next month you know this caught my attention and I laughed so hard. Since then, I shared it with probably 20 people who have expressed interest to me about using your app so you should probably send the young man thanks for his marketing.Meanwhile , regarding your app, there are a few things that need to be brushed up, cleaned up, or changed (subtitles?)but they’ve all been talked about by others here. They’re not huge issues ,not unexpected for new software. It takes a while to shake out the bugs, i’m a retired software developer so I know of which I speak.Keep the passion, keep having fun. And to borrow from Quentin Tarantino, continue to find and save those pieces of ‘grindhouse’ history for us. So appreciated!Go Team!
