mQ gives HVAC Ninja skills!!!
measureQuick is HVAC service at it’s finest! Gorgeous reporting! Best in class support. More times that not tech companies create a good thing, market the heck out of it, sell sell sell, then leave us out in the cold when the stuff fails. measureQuick does the exact opposite of that. They answer questions with haste and try in more ways than not to listen to our requests. They remold, better themselves, and improve all the time! I’ve been a mQ user for 3-4 years now and it has gotten me out of multiple jams so I couldn’t be happier with mQ. I’ve been in the HVAC industry for 20 years and when I started using mQ it taught me how much I, myself, needed to improve as a technician. So for your greener techs I can see huge value in this platform. Not to mention the level of service you’re offering your customers when using mQ. I highly recommend this app to anyone that wants to say with truth and confidence they have the abilities to offer the highest quality of service in your area…
Used to be a great app
I used to love using this app. It had a very clean and easy to use interface. They’ve slowly changed things around and I was able to deal with the changes. The Home Screen changed from the gauge view to an advertisement screen which was somewhat tolerable. But today was the last day I’ll use this app. I work for a small company and I’m the only person who uses wireless probes, so it was nice to be able to share screenshots with coworkers for training or help. Now when I took a screenshot it gave me a warning saying my account would be suspended temporarily if I performed another unauthorized act. So I took another screenshot just to see and it locked me out of my account. I immediately uninstalled the app and will never use it again even if they revert the changes. I’ll also never recommend it to anyone, in fact I will do all I can to dissuade them from using. This is probably the second review I’ve ever written in the 37 years I’ve been alive. It’s so disappointing to see greed corrupting so much good out there.
Whyyyyyyy !!!
I’m not sure how good or not this app is and i may never find out!So my review is purely based on the frustrating need to make an account to even open it to start using it , if the developers are dying to get e-mail addresses to make an extra buck or what have you they should just ask for it on a different way , i find more than u necessary to make an account to use it specially for an app that I don’t care if any one sees what is in it, needless to say I didn’t even tried it , the app for the testo proves are good for what i need it , I don’t need the app to tell me what to check for and how to fix it ,after all i am the tech if any one needs all those suggestions they just need to go back to school , i just need to see the readings for the instruments themselves, i tried to get the app just to see what all the hype was about from a jr. co-worker .I have enough apps with password to bother with more that should not need an account and i tend to not use apps like that unless there is no choice , I don’t know how many people are the same way but it may be a good advice for developers to consider.
Locks up often
I love using the app but, at least once a week it will lock while trying to update. The updates are forced. No option to turn them off or update at a better time like when I don’t have a customer looking over my shoulder. The only solution is to delete and re download the app. You will loose all locally stored data, settings and probe mapping. Major pita for something that is intended to improve productivity. I am using the latest version of ios. This had been going on for months now. I have been communicating with the developers via text and they have offer no solutions other that to put my phone in airplane mode prior to opening the app.
Great For Diagnosing & Troubleshooting
I love the app for the ability to see all of my readings digitally. The suggested issues are helpful in most cases. It works great when paired with Fieldpiece’s wireless probes and sensors.The big thing I don't like is downloading an update. It takes forever on my iPhone and iPad. The download will quickly progress to a point (ex: 37%) and then it will remain there. After an hour or so, it’s hit or miss whether the download will continue without trying again later. I never update on the job for this reason.
Best HVAC app there is
I’ve been using measurequick since it first came to be. It is without a doubt the best hvac app there is. There’s nothing that even comes close to it. The development team and support is first class. The app is 100% free to use, there are paid premium features that are worth the cost for a company to use. I only wish hvac business owners/managers could see the value that paying for the premium features of the app brings to their company. The great majority of negative reviews for this app are from techs who work for companies that won’t pay for the premium features for their techs to utilize. I don’t understand why a company wouldn’t be more than willing to pay for the premium features if their tech(s) were willing to use it, because in the end the tech will be more efficient, thorough and find more issues that need fixed which equals more sales for the company. It’s a No brainer to me.
Backwards Progression
This used to be my go-to app to use with my fieldpiece probes. I recommended it to all my fellow technicians. I used the older version of this app so much, that I was extremely disappointed when it automatically updated to a completely different format. I tried to live with it for about a week and am very disappointed. Not interactive at all trying to get them paired up and then getting to data screen. And now screenshots lock me out so this is useless when I include pic in my invoices. This app was 10 stars before this money grab update. Extremely disappointed. Will rate 5 stars the second they go back to the old format
Burden cast upon the service tech.
Measure quick is an amazing tool which provides valuable information on one screen.Being able to have all relevant information at my fingertips via MQ has played a critical role in my growth & development in the industry. The first update that caused hassle was when they removed “classic view” from being the first thing on the screen when the app is opened. Although it is a struggle, specifically when working 80 hrs a week and you want your data asap. The most recent update has caused much headache by not allowing screen shots. I bought Qbits to specifically be able to take screen shots so I can effectively record and log data points while preforming system diagnostics. Unfortunately it is a hassle to utilize. I will pay money for a *pro version just to be able to take unlimited screen shots. I understand they want their app utilized in a specific way but it currently seems unfair to the field technicians. I am very displeased and have been for awhile now. I’m back to having to write notes by hand, and often times makes diagnosis that much more strenuous.
Suggestions offered
I get you want to get paid for the work you've put into it. Even after I paid for, whatever currency you're calling it, it's become too painful to bother with. They have a saying in the army, "dumb it down to the lowest level"... before the update came out, you stated we'd be able to flip back to legacy mode and that doesn't seem to be the case. Being able to flip through the different measurements while having visual gauges to look at still was why everyone loved your app. Now you've made it too inconvenient for the typical technician to bother with. We're talking about an industry who will make every excuse in the book not to seal ductwork, because it's inconvenient, time consuming and messy. Think about your target market... hopefully this feedback helps.
You’re missing out if you don’t benchmark!!!
This is an extremely powerful program to calculate & document equipment performance & efficiency in a constantly changing environment. It saves the unique characteristics of each system for each application that it is installed in & adjusts for different environmental conditions. Jim & the team are not idle as they’re constantly adding capabilities, features, & tweaks. MeasureQuick is growing fast & you’d be a fool if you didn’t take the opportunity to find what may be wrong in your system. Don’t take me wrong, this does not tell you how to do your job, you still must be a licensed HVAC technician with an epa certification to handle refrigerants & most importantly you have to be a competent tech. This works best after you’ve done your job are just checking everything one last time to make sure you didn’t forget anything & to save those measurements to prove your work & to give a nice customer focused report that everything is perfect. Please I beg you to just try it out & use all of the features & find out for yourself!
