Great during 3rd year rotations

This is been a great tool during my 3rd year medical rotations. It has been a quick and easy app to use while I am rounding in the morning during hospital hours.

A must have

EM resident here. This app is one of the most powerful tools a resident has at their disposal. Most major scoring systems are utilized within it. I use it almost daily and cannot think of a more powerful tool than this!On a side note: I wish some newer algorithms/scoring system is included in the future maybe with adding algorithms too? Great app though many thanks to the dev team👍🏻

Terrible update

The July 2023 update is terrible. Font change in the menu provides much less definition as compared to the original app, which was much easier on the eyes. Probably more annoying is that opening the app defaults to the “Popular” calculators… as opposed to the previous edition where I could opt to open the app to my favorites, which is critically important in an emergency, instead of having to navigate away from the default opening to what really matters.

Unable to sign up

I am currently in clinicals for my FNP and my preceptor uses this app frequently but I can’t sign up because it requires you input your school and my University isn’t listed. Is there a work around for this? I would love to use this app as it is quite useful in the day to day workings as a FNP and has been so helpful but I can’t use it because of that one requirement.

An absolute must have on the wards.

Medical scores are very difficult to keep memorized completely when starting off in medicine. This is a great resource to have on the wards. Easy to use and a great way to improve patient care and improve diagnostic ability.

User interface REALLY needs some work

Unfortunately the implementation of these web forms on the iPhone version is really bad. Makes it very hard to enter and delete entries, move the cursor, the keyboard gets in the way without intelligently scrolling often, etc. In short the UI is kind of a disaster despite the calculators being very useful.

Fixed after deleting and reinstalling

This is one of my favorite apps. I use it all the time for work, and it is definitely a lifesaver. It was having issues after the last update and was crashing upon opening, but after deleting and reinstalling the app, it now works perfectly. Thank you MDCalc team for your assistance!

Life Saver

I was looking for Sepsis criteria after my daughter’s 2nd bout. That’s when I found MDcalc. I have used it to convince medical pros to do Sepsis work ups, because sadly, awareness is still lacking. Thanks to MDcalc and early treatment, my daughter has survived Sepsis 6 times now.

Excellent app overall, battery issue

This app seems to be rather nice from what I’ve seen so far. I haven’t calculated much to know if anything is working accurately, however, as someone else mentioned in one of the tools. My main issue is the battery. I can’t keep this app open for more than one minute without the phone getting so hot. It’s alarmingly hot. I can’t even imagine what’s going on to make it do such a thing.

Very useful app. Stopped working on M1 Mac

This is a very useful app. I realize that it is designed for iPad, but it would be super helpful if the developers ensured that it can be used on Apple Silicon Macs as well. It used to work, but it no longer does, and I am not sure if this is due to an update.
