Great Logic Puzzler

Although the instructions are confusing at first, the game itself is very fun and addicting. I've always enjoyed logic puzzles such as "Girl wearing pants is standing two places ahead of a guy with glasses" type puzzles, and that's essentially what this is. The "clues" are in the bottom portion of the screen. The goal is to solve the grid on the top in such a way that all the rules are met, and so there is a unique symbol in each row and column. It does remind me of Sudoku in some ways but the "clues" add a different twist. Gameplay is simple and makes good use of the touch screen. Ability to move the clues around and to "dim" clues is very helpful. I "dim" clues once I know I have met the rule, and use the ability to move the clues around to help organize my thought process. This is a lot of game for very little money, especially considering how many levels the developer provides! It would be nice however to have a lite version with just a couple levels so people could try it before buying especially since the concept is confusing at first.

A classic I keep returning to

I’ve been playing this app since the iPhone 3G was released, and I will always have it on any iOS device I own. A simple, classic, fun game. Good brain exercise without being stressful. For me, it’s a must-have game.

Still loving but wish colors were improved

The orange provides little contrast. I really wish developers would update with improved colors

Great game with unlimited gameplay potential

Depending on your take, learning to play will either be part of the challenge or frustrating. For me it was a little of both. Be warned though, you need a good hour or two of gameplay to really get good at this game. Once you know how to play it, this game has an unlimited amount of potential. This isn't one of those games you'll play for a couple days and beat. It just keeps giving. I will play 2 or 3 games a day and it has yet to get old, unlike many other games. The logic behind it reminds me of solitare with a bit of sudoku logic mixed in. Very enjoyable. My only request would be a modification of how the high scores work. I don't like that the game is pre-populated with "John Does" and it is very hard for a beginner to actually end up ranked. I'd prefer every game from my first play ever to be considered a high score so I can see how I improve over time. Instead, I had to wait until I was a decent player in order to get ranked. If the game kept my play history better, I'd definitely give this application 5 stars. Otherwise, 4 stars as it is now. Absolutely worth the purchase if you want to invest time into a good logic game.

Love

I’ve been playing this on and off for years. I’ll play it for a month non-stop then come back to it in a year and it’s still fantastic!

100x better if all the fonts were changed to Helvetica

Very fun game if you can overcome the steep learning curve. Would be 100x better if all the fonts were changed to Helvetica.

Fascinating!

Very interesting game. I'm enjoying it a lot and found that I comprehended it fairly easily by reading your instructions carefully. However there are several typographical errors in your instructions (and I see the same errors on your web site) so you might fix these and have your presentation be even more impressive and professional. Here's one (do a search for this sentence -- "You can them eliminate the part by touching it.") So as you see you need to change the word 'them' to 'then'. Maybe I'm being a nerd, but I don't think there's such a word as "hilight" -- do a search and replace it with "highlight". Here's another odd phrase "tile to be located in on its left side" -- remove the redundant word "in" and you're all set. How about "it self cannot be on the leftmost column" -- remove "self". I hope you don't mind my mentioning these things; I'm offering them in the spirit of spiffing up your product and making it even more attractive to others. I appreciate the game and would like others to enjoy it as well. Cheers and keep up the good work!

The most fun you can have with logic!

I’ve played this game for 8 years now, and probably do a 5 minute game every morning over coffee. I still find the puzzles (and their logic) beautiful. Get Marple, spend 5 minutes learning how to play it, and enjoy it every time you open it.

Description

AWARDED "BEST PUZZLER" IN MACWORLD'S "THE BEST GAMES OF 2008"! NOMINEE FOR "BEST PUZZLE GAME" IN "2008 BEST APP EVER AWARDS"! RATED "BETTER" IN APPREVIEW!

Getting tired of Sudoku? Why not try Marple? Marple is a game of logic and deduction. The playing field consists of 20 tiles arranged in 4 rows of 5 columns each and a set of clues. The goal of the game is to figure out the correct order of those 20 tiles using the given clues by process of elimination. There are four different types of clues: "In between", "Left of", "Same column" and "Next to". "In between" clue tells that the middle tile has to be located in between the other two. It however does not tell the order of the other two tiles or how far they are from the middle one. "Left of" clue tells that the left tile has to be located left of the right tile. It however does not tell how far apart they are. "Same column" clue tells that the two tiles have to be on the same column. "Next to" clue tells that the two tiles are adjacent to each other. It however does not tell the order of the two tiles. Features: * 1,000,000 fiendishly clever puzzles to play so don't expect to run out of them any time soon! At 3 minutes / puzzle, 1 hour / day = ca. 137 years of puzzles! * Tutorial mode * Hint system that highlights a clue that you should be concentrating on next and also explains exactly what you should be doing next. * Graphical help with beginner tips
