A little glitchy

This app works great for our needs. Our house is a ranch style and it’s hard to hear the baby when on the opposite side of the house. We use the app a few times a weeks when we want to watch tv once the baby is in bed. The app works great, but sometimes the audio cuts out. We like to just listen for the baby and not use the sleep alerts. Also it is a bummer that you cannot use any other functions on your phone while the app is open unless you pay. But over all it works well for our needs.

Does it work? Can't tell from this "free" version.

I set up both stations, and after enabling the baby monitor device, I immediately got a message on top of the screen 'asking' if I wanted to try the premium version of the app for free for 15 min.. And there's no way to say no thanks, I actually want to see how well the app works for, you know....free...There's also no pricing information, no links to the premium version, no explanation of it at all- so there's actually no free or demo version as far as I can tell. I've seen this strategy used on games before, but this is a baby monitor- so it feels manipulative and misleading at best. So, to the 'small team in Berlin', thanks, but no thanks. Your strategy not only failed, but made me want to tell everyone I know how I feel about your methods and business practices.

Good but sometimes anxious

I purchased this baby monitor over others simply cause the UI looked cleaner and better than some of the other apps that more people had reviewed. Purchased it because we were away on vacation and wasn’t able to take our normal baby monitor with us. The first time using it, the base station was connected to the hotel WiFi and my phone was on cellular. The video feature didn’t work and after about 30 minutes the parent station stopped being connected to the base unit. This of course created a little anxiety. Later when I tried again, I ensured that both units were connected via cell signal and the video function and the connection seemed more reliable. It seems the either mixing WiFi and cell between units could create a strange miscommunication or inconsistency or the hotel’s WiFi may have been the culprit. Ultimately I’m going to keep using it and hopefully my trust in the app’s ability to not disconnect with increase. So far so good though.

Works well

The lowest sensitivity is too high. It picks up the fan, air conditioner, me walking around the house, people talking across the house, etc. I had to turn the alarm off because that sets it off from across the house too. Only time it works perfectly is when no one is inside and that’s not ideal for a baby. I’ve switched between three different devices testing them all as baby and parent stations. Doesn’t change it. Still, great as a free app. Worth the $6 upgrade if your WiFi drops out randomly.

Hard to Connect

Husband and I were on vacay with our newborn and two littles and downloaded this as an interim baby monitor on both our iPhones. Once downloaded, the iPhone designated as baby monitor kept noting the baby as awake even though she was asleep. Possibly was picking up the sound machine as crying? But we couldn’t get it to switch to “asleep” at all. Also, might have been the wifi at the rental, but the parent unit kept disconnecting from the baby unit and we would receive a notification for each disconnection. Lastly, it kept asking up to upgrade without an option to bypass other than a 15 minute “trial.” So it would seem that the app is not functional whatsoever without purchasing the “premium” option. Would seem more practical to just list the app at the purchase price of the premium membership so it would not be the hassle of trying to use the app without success. Overall, couldn’t use the app for our stay and off to search for a better option!

Great for travel, a few bugs

I still prefer a regular monitor but this is great for going to friends houses, grandma’s, etc. Cute interface and works well for the most part. There’s a few bugs with the audio though, if I’m streaming and it notifies me that she’s awake and then again that she’s asleep, the audio stops after the second notification and I have to go in to the app and restart it. And sometimes when I start the audio I have to start it twice before it actually streams anything. If they fixed that it would be excellent.

Some small features would make a big difference

It would be nice to be able to turn off the power saving mode so you could the video on. It would also be nice to be able to further adjust the sensitivity since we use white noise and that tends to trigger the alarm. Lastly, I’ve noticed that if the alarm is triggered and then the noise level falls back below the threshold it will turn off the audio, again making this less useful if you want to continue listening to your child. The app also seems to crash quite a bit forcing me to go into my child’s room while they are sleeping... several areas to work on.

Meh- I wanted to like it

The connection was spotty and always dripping with no auto-reconnection. You had to restart the whole process and be close to the baby station where a sleeping child likely is. The notifications were noisy as you are turning on when you leave the room, again with a sleeping child. Lastly, I was running the baby station on my iPad where I also had a night light and sound machine running, but you could not reliably run all these apps concurrently which is annoying. I was hoping for so much more of a good solution while not at home with all of the tools I usually have for a comfortable sleep for my child and stress relief of me knowing I could hear her.

Unintuitive, Limited

The controls in this are incredibly on intuitive. There are few controls or preferences that I can find for many of the features. Video streaming doesn’t work for very long for whatever reason. Instead of just sustained audio streaming, there’s a weird alarm that is enabled by default and which seems to cause audio screening to stop whenever it believes the baby is “awake“. There’s a big notification that it’s in “eco-mode“ but there seems to be no way to turn the eco-mode off. This app basically functions but once you start digging into it there are a lot of limitations and baffling design choices.

Too limited in audio streaming

My baby has some breathing problems and one reason I like to have a monitor is so we can hear his breathing. I thought this app would be good, but it stops audio streaming whenever it thinks it doesn’t pick up sound. I constantly have to turn the audio streaming back on every few minutes unless I place the baby station phone right next to his mouth, which isn’t practical as he moves while sleeping. I wish the app would have given more information about the streaming capabilities. I needed something that could stream audio all the time, not something that stops every few minutes. There also should be more settings in the app. There is an echo mode but no explanation as to what this is or way to turn it on or off. There’s also no way to turn down the alarm volume, so if you have the parent station volume set to high so you can hear, the alarm will be very loud. I bought this app and these are obnoxious bugs/lack of features that made me stop using it. However, for what it does do, it does it well, and if you are looking for something that cannot stream audio full time and only stays on for a short while then it is useful for checking in on your baby. But it’s not a replacement for a real monitor.
