I love anything and everything that Jeffrey Prather posts, and I look so forward to his podcasts Tuesdays and Thursdays. I live for them! Listening to his take on things, plus his positive outlook on how all this craziness is going to end is so heartening. His podcasts are so interesting, and are one of the very few places that I go to listen anymore about what is going on in our country and our world. I used to be a Fox News fanatic until President Trump’s presidency was swiped right before our very eyes. Thank God for Jeffrey Prather and his insight. He is a man of faith!
Decent, but auto play doesn’t seem to work
I don’t know what the deal is, but it seems like auto play doesn’t work. When I hear the word auto play, I’m thinking that it will… Automatically play as in automatically play the next video. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to work at all. My favorite creators make small 3 to 10 minute videos. I want to start a video, and then have it automatically play continuously until I have seen all of the videos. In my shop, I have a TV and stereo system set up so that I while I’m working I can watch the news and other content, but the app is useless to me if every time a new video finishes, I have to go and start the next one. Stopping what I’m doing every 3 to 5 minutes to go and start the next video is pretty stupid, especially whenThere is actually an auto play option in the settings which I have enabled. It doesn’t seem to do anything and however so for me, locals is almost useless.

So far so good … so what! A great megadeth album but seriously folks i just crawled out from a rock and my arms r killing me, no seriously i cant get the knife away from me! Help help —-licals is amazing so far im here to follow LTC Tulsi Gabbard and a very strange progression has ensued wherein pundits journalsts and artist/comedian folk i respect and follow on the establishment propaganda platforms are slowing popping up here on locals? Needless to say but then why would I not take every advantage herein to say it (or type it) in this medium—-that makes me very happy!! (Checking my non existent wrist watch) as of right now i love locals and hope it maintains its Non censorship policy. Also at this time A hostile foreign entity is occuyping our seat of Federal power & incarcerating Julian Assange and trying to end press freedoms in the United States of America by prosecuting Julian under antiquated espionage statutes so if you care about your republic , u r freedom & Liberty#FreeAssangeDoSomething!
Great INFO site!
Being new to Locals, I am feeling a little awkward getting used to this kind of security/intel forum, but at NO fault of the great host, contributors or content. I am experiencing a relaxed but engaging community while embracing the host’s encouragement to hang in there while collecting valuable information for OSINT potential. Since this forum has been around for a little while... I hope I can reach back often to past submissions and members’ input. I can already tell that this will be well worth the energy. Thanks for adding it to Locals!
Great content by interesting creators BUT
The “BUT” and 4 stars versus 5 is because all of a sudden, the app switched from a landscape interface to portrait. Because I use a keyboard on my iPad, I am unable to use the app the way I had been using it from the beginning. I reported this, but have had no response other than the developer was looking into this. I logged out, deleted the app, shut down the iPad, etc. and reinstalled and logged back in. So for now, the app is unusable. I type by touch, so the visual keyboard is awkward and untenable for me. I can just use my phone if I want to use a visual method which is unquestionably much, much slower. I have looked everywhere in every toggle to try to resolve this issue. Am I the only one with this concern? Maybe, but what changed?So what would have been a 5 star, is a 4…may be a 3 if I get no answers.
Notifications for my subscriptions disappear
I have a number of Locals subscriptions in my account. As expected, I receive notifications for the channels as they publish their content. As is typical for many apps, if I hit/tap a specific notification, i’m brought into the app and presented with content for the notification I tapped. However… there’s a problem in that, if I go into the app without tapping any notifications (or even if I do tap a particular notification), all the other “pending” notifications then disappear and I have no way of going back to select the other notifications. I’ve checked my app and iOS settings and it seems like it’s set up correctly. Locals is the only app where all the notifications disappear when I enter the app. Please change this behavior so the notifications don’t disappear.
They Don’t Seem to Care Anymore
I was understanding of this app being in Beta and the bugs and issues that arose. Additionally, I felt grateful that Dave Rubin created a free speech platform where you can hear information and opinions that don’t necessarily conform to the mainstream media narrative. However, since Locals was acquired by Rumble they no longer have responsive customer service (or customer service at all?). Reporting significant issues, such as all of the show replays on Coffee with Scott Adams being cut off EVERY day are totally ignored. They have not responded to my multiple attempts to bring this to their attention or even acknowledged the issue despite the fact that I pay $7 dollars a month for the bonus contract. This is really disappointing, guys.
The Internet Done Right!!!
Well done to Dave Rubin and everyone with the Locals teams! This is the opposite of some other social media platforms, this is the internet done right. A place for content creators and consumers alike. Most platforms focus on the consumer experience, but Locals is built with creators in mind. The future belongs to the creators and Locals is where it’s gonna happen! The community is growing everyday and the features continue to roll out and become more streamlined. I work for one of the largest tech consulting firms in the world and I am constantly impressed by this platform.
Improvement After Improvement
I’ve been on Locals for over a year now, and while it was already great starting out, the upgrades and real improvements have been regular and measurable. I have been only pleased for making the decision to get in early and to be enjoying such a thriving community now on what has to be the best platform for an online community that exists. I will say that early on there was a small learning curve. It took a few weeks for me to fully understand the structure and design. Folks, this is true with anything. I went through the same period of having to figure out, and get familiar with, Facebook twelve years ago or however long ago it was, and so did you. If you are still hosting your work on Facebook groups, you’re on a sinking dinosaur ship. Now’s the time to get on the Locals platform, which is a million times superior in every way, because if you don’t, in the not-too-distant future, you’re going to realize you’ve been left way behind and you’ll never correct that mistake.
Fabulous platform
This is my favorite social media platform. It brings together like-minded people and keeps the trolls out. It is place to freely discuss topics that big tech deems controversial without having to fear censorship or deplatforming. Three suggestions: Add a casting option from WITHIN the app to cast to your smart tv. Add an option for users to create and post their own polls just like the hosts can do. (This could, of course, be a function that the host could disable if they don’t want users polling their page.). Lastly, the autocorrect is a bit wonky on Locals.
