Gorgeous and engaging

Visually this is the best language learning app I’ve ever used full stop, and that visual engagement really helps me focus because I’m not wasting time trying to figure out how the app works. Also I like that for the most part, it doesn’t ding you for a wrong answer, it just gives you another shot and keeps going. I don’t see the point of having stressful strikes looking over you threatening to start the lesson over if you get too many wrong; this is a wonderful alternative.Keep up the great work, devs. I hope this app brings you a lot of success to add even more languages.

rude notifications

This is a great app and very helpful for helping you learn a new words in your chosen language. However, their notifications go off at all hours of the night, are rude, and I’m tired of them telling me “NO EXCUSES you always have 5 minutes!”: It feels like they are just talking down to and yelling at me. You don’t need to use caps, that is considered yelling. Also, not everyone has 5 minutes, some people are lucky to sit down and have a break for 5 minutes during the day let alone get on their phone to use an app. And if they do, they have other responsibilities to use that spare time on. Not everyone has 5 minutes of free time every day to do other activities. It’s NOT an excuse, it’s life. This app is great to use as a supplement as well and not everyone may want to use it daily, I don’t always have time to use this app but I have other methods of learning Vietnamese as my fiancé speaks it and I am able to hear it around the house so this app is a great supplement to that for me. I like the reminders but wish we could set up to remember to use it on our schedule like “remind me only on weekends” or “only on Tuesday and Thursday”. I would gladly give this app 5 stars, but I’m only giving 3 because of the rude notifications. If you get this app, I suggest having them turned off and making your own reminder, otherwise you will be woken up in the middle of the night being yelled at by this app.

Initial impression

I like that I get to listen to every word and it is helping with my pronunciation. I am a native English speaking and I have news using another language app for 2 weeks to start learning Vietnamese but while it was helping me learn sentence structure and reading, it didn’t always let me listen to how the words are supposed to be pronounced. I like that the voice on this app pronounces the words slower than other apps. One improvement that would make the app is better is if the english translation would stay with the image, some of the images are vague so it’s easy to forget what they mean.

This is a great app

My family is Asian and my learning of Viet was fading. I mostly talk English but my parents were angry. So I searched up and I found this it took me a long time. I love it and so does my family so Thank you very much for making this nice app I love it.🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳EDIT: So I am starting to get back in my Vietnamese school but I will still use this app this truly an amazing app!

learn vocabulary by topics

The best device to learn vocabulary by specific topics! I started working on the computer terms and all of them seem relevant so far. I appreciate the use of southern accent. To make the program better, I would add a button where you could hear or perhaps just read the word in a sentence. It’s an even better way to retain words. And it could be used as a clue to discover the meaning of the word.

Wow, fun was to learn

I have to say, I’m been trying to learn a new language for so long now but every app uses the same type learning. This one is a little more interactive in that it turns it into a game rather than a lesson. Most apps have you learn predetermined phrases that make no sense sometimes but with this app you don’t have to worry about that. It teaches you word by speaking it and using a visual aid at the same time and this helps you use multi sense learning.

Four Stars

The app is honestly so great. The dictation is easy to follow and the app makes it fun and easy to learn.Compared to other apps, this one was the best. However there was some spelling mistakes that made me confused. In the app, bread is spelled Bánh mý but it’s actually spelled Bánh mì. I’m not sure if the different spelling is just a different way to spell it. But, I even asked a native speaker and they said it’s spelled Bánh mì and has never seen it spelled with a “y”. Also, I feel like there should be an update where it checks to see if you’re pronouncing the words right, or spelling the words right! Anyways, it’s a great app and I totally recommend it!

Better than Duolingo for Vietnamese

This app is simple and concise, easy to learn basics and build on them, and plays the pronunciation every time so you can hear it and practice repeating it. This is essential for Vietnamese because there is a lot of nuance in the pronunciation that aren’t present Latin-derived languages I have studied. Duolingo perhaps hasn’t been able to fund their Vietnamese lesson development department as thoroughly as some of their other languages, which are excellent. It was confusing to use and learn basics, they did not have the pronunciation of the words recorded to play upon the completion of each exercise.

First 5min

I only finished the first 5 minutes but this app makes me excited and I think it will actually help me learn the language at least a little bit, I have terrible memory so the only way I learn is repetition so this is perfect. So far so good. Update: just did a little more and found out I have to pay to learn more or wait 10 hours, so that kinda stinks but I guess they gotta get paid somehow, it would be cool if I could just watch ads or something for more learning time.

It’s Fast

I don’t know any Vietnamese and just finished my first lesson. I felt like I was given new words too quickly but maybe that’s me. I feel like I need more time on one word to remember it. For 5 minutes a day, maybe tomorrow’s lesson will focus on enforcing what I learned today.The app is nice though with a native speaker saying the words (unlike Duolingo) and simple images to help you recognize the words more. Hopefully I can finally learn some Vietnamese! Thank you for this app.
