Great app but one complaint

This is the best way for me to learn Spanish. I do better learning individual words than i can communicate at least in my own way as I figure out how to create sentences. It’s harder for me to memorize complete sentences because it’s not always clear what word means what in the sentence. This allows me to take words I know and arrange into a sentence I understand. My ONLY COMPLAINT is that when you need to hear how a word is pronounced and you click the play button the lady says the word/sentence TOO FAST. At least allow us to adjust the speed. Half the time I can’t tell what she’s saying.

Very good app that could be great

This app is very good. It is simple, easy to use, and effective. I have used many apps that are far more complex and yet not nearly as effective in helping build vocabulary. My only suggestion would be to either enable users to upload their own pictures when making new flash cards or to browse more extensively through the system’s photo catalog (the overall selection offered by the system is expansive but, when making a new word entry, it locks you into a smaller set of options - seemingly based on what the word looks like it would mean in English - that the app thinks would be appropriate, when often they are not). Because of this limitation, I have had to leave most of my new word entries with out pictures because there were either no suggestions presented by the system or the suggestions were inappropriate. If you fix this, you will have a nearly perfect app.

This app is not free and it tracks you

I was just looking for a simple, free app to practice Spanish vocabulary. The implication of all the things about this app before downloading were that you could use it for that purpose. You cannot. This is NOT a free app to actually use anything you have to pay quite a lot of money, otherwise it doesn’t do anything. That is incredibly deceptive, they should just be clear that they’re charging for the app. Also this app tracks your data so they’re charging you and they’re making money off of tracking you. This is not honest.

Easy to use

Very easy to use. Really like the option of having the word pronounced. Also, the option to select from four possible answers helps when I can’t quite put my finger on the correct answer. Very nice to have words I have identified as not memorized yet be repeated frequently to help get the word pounded into my memory quickly. I will say the one part that is frustrating as a beginner is having multiple Spanish words associated with one English word. As someone looking to just learn basic conversational Spanish, it would be easier in the beginning to just have one Spanish word associated with one English word. But overall, I am enjoying this method of learning Spanish.

Flawed

While the app has certain nice features, it becomes almost useless as an SRS system because of how frequently it shows you words. The intervals are way too short. You’ll end up wasting a lot of time seeing words you’ve just seen. It makes it harder to actually see the words you need to see because you’ll be overwhelmed with words you don’t need to see. You’ll probably be better off buying an app that allows you to adjust intervals or doesn’t have such frequent intervals. Not sure if any exist besides Anki though. And yes, you can add words, but considering it is relatively easy for the developer to add more words, they should do it themselves, especially when they charge so much.

I like it

I like the format. The spoken voice is so fast it is hard to catch everything. It would be nice if I had the option to slow it down. My Latina relatives from Colombia/Panama speak a bit slower and are easier to understand than the program. I’m trying to improve my ability to understand what is spoken as opposed to reading it.

Exactly what I needed

Love this app to supplement my language learning! It’s simple but really helpful- I didn’t want anything complicated. I love the different modes with which you can test your knowledge as well, because writing out words is the best way for me to lock them in my memory.

Perfect format

If I could design my own app to help me learn Spanish, this is pretty much exactly what it would look like. I've tried a lot of apps but they all have too many features... I just wanted a simple flashcard set that I could flip through while watching TV or when I have a few extra minutes on the bus. It has a ton of words and categories but you can always add more if you want. Very easy to customize the settings. This app is helping me get from intermediate to advanced, but it'd be great for beginnings too. It won't help much with grammar but it's the best for growing your vocab. Thanks to the designers for this app!

Simple but effective app!!

I love that there are already premade list for almost everything. I have been using it to learn Spanish and there’s examples of the words in sentences and all different kinds of ways to use the flashcards. There is even a no hands option so it will review the flashcards while you’re driving!

Awesome vocabulary tool

At an advanced level of writing and an intermediate level of speaking in Spanish, I found that my limited vocabulary was really holding me back from breaking through to the higher levels in my speaking ability. ReWord is making it so easy to find and learn must-know vocabulary. I just bought the unlimited version, and I think I’ll be very happy with it! ReWord for learners of Russian next??
