Download it just in case

We only ended up using this app once on our China trip, but it came in handy and was a good backup. At one restaurant we had a communication problem so I used the app's phrase to say "I'll have whatever you recommend." It worked!

Great Phrasebook

This is a really nice little phrasebook. The only thing which could make it a little better would be the inclusion of a small grammar to accompany it. I love, love, love the dictionary associated with this app. If you are learning any language which uses hanzi (Chinese, Japanese, or Korean), be sure to get the dictionary. It is the best that exists in an app form and is beyond comprehensive.

Updated version is awesome!

Though the app doesn't 'teach teach' the words it's still a very good aid in learning words along with other apps! Best of all, they added a new recording feature so you can check your tones! Definitely add this to you collection of mandarin learning apps! :D(The new look of the app is more engaging as well!)

Even my Chinese counterparts approve

Fantastic app. Categories & common phrases are very helpful for one who is just beginning to learn Mandarin. With the ability to search the dictionary in both English & Chinese, even my Han Chinese co-workers will frequently hijack my phone to help them figure out a word or description. Highly recommend.

Best language app
