Really like this

The Chinese characters really need to be big enough to see on the iPhone. They are okay on the iPad. But my 7 year old really likes it. She's been learning Chinese for a while and it's a fun way to practice using question mode. My 2 year old loves hearing and repeating the words for all the animals (her fav category). You can easily press the button at the top to hear the word repeated. Lots of very appropriate words and categories. To the creators: thanks and give us an update soon that has bigger characters because our little ones are smart enough to learn them too. Would gladly pay for this.

Great this is the best

I've only found 3 good apps to learn mandarin. One is 10 bucks pretty steap the other is free but only for like 50 word / flashcard then it's a buck for fifty more no big deal but once you've learned all 200 word your done this is nice on top of these two apps really kept me motivated thank you

Has potential

I'm just beginning Chinese, but I know that some of the food words are mixed up. The ones I know are wrong are pear and peanut. This makes me wonder what other words are wrong. I also wish that each card included the pinyin. The speaker is very clear which is nice. This app has great potential, but I'm not comfortable using it as a learning tool for my child just yet.

Version 1.3

In this version, under the Food category, i noticed there are some flash cards and audio that do not match up and one of the audio is just missing. One audio is for a flash card that is not there. Bugs for the following flash card: pancake, peanut, pear, and peas. Other than that it's still a good app for kids to learn, haven't checked out the rest of the other cards yet.

ABC (American Born Chinese)

Overall excellent software. Great for beginners and foreigners. Offers native pronunciation. Only 2 setbacks I've noticed is that 1) some of the audio does not match up with the food pictorials and 2) should offer traditional Chinese characters side by side along with the simplified version. Once (if ever) these issues are addressed, I will give it a 5 star rating.

Fun

It's a fun way to learn Mandarin. The pronunciation is clear, and I can distinguish the tones for the most part. I only wish that they also had the pinyin with it, because sometimes i can't figure out what the sound is. I know this app is geared towards kids, but it's suitable for all ages, and good for beginners like me. :)

We used to love this app

This new update is unusable! The button to go to the next flash card is too close to the ads and a three year old's fingers are not that precise. Or is that what you intended! She can't do more than a couple cards before bumping it and being redirected. Before this she's been using it independently for a year. I'm very disappointed. Do you not test your children's products on children

Awesome

A very accurate and easy to use app. Most chinese apps are flooded with ads and lack useful information but this one is great. Thank you.
