The app just looks good but functionally it is not working properly. It drops out all the time and the rewind button never shows up despite the fact that it is being advertised on their website and the App Store. It seems that the app is not buffering at all. It used to be the number one app on my iPhone but I stopped using it.
Rewind option is the best app ever. Taking it away makes it frustrating and annoying.I thought it was a temporary removal or some thing. It does not make me feel better about being a sustaining member. Although of course I will stay a sustaining member. Please restore it to its previous awesomeness!
Super long time listener WAY before podcasts were a thing. Have needed to reinstall app numerous times over the years whenever it freezes. Most recently app wonât show any podcast options but the one streaming at that time. Silly. The #1 prs in SoCal needs a tech upgrade!
I love KPCC and listen all day, but this app just doesnât work. The signal constantly l fails, seemingly for no reason, although the WiFi is fine and all other apps are working on my iPhone 7. I end up defaulting back to the radio, which means I canât use the âlive streamâ pause feature or access the pledge-free stream during membership drives. I will continue to support the station, but please, KPCC, fix the app!
After contacting them 4 months ago and receiving a response they will bring back the rewind, scrubbing ability I have to say again that their Spring update has ruined my listen experience. With my ADD I need to rewind to hear things 2 & 3 times and I can no longer do that. It also used to never drop the broadcast and now I am constantly losing connection. Very sad đ
Since my last review, I feel the app has improved slightly, with the addition of more podcasts and frequent news updates. Unfortunately, the livestream and streaming of archived shows is still problematic. The app doesnât keep your place if you get a call or have to switch audio apps temporarily. The feed crashes regularly, and the app just resets randomly unless youâre listening uninterrupted, and even that crashes sporadically. There hasnât been much improvement to this app over the last several years, which is very disappointing. I love KPCC, but I can pull up a radio app and get better more consistent audio streaming than this app has ever had. Why this app hasnât been fixed, I have no idea.
Been using the KPCC app since the iPhone 1. My favorite station. However, 2 updates ago, the app has started freezing for about a minute or two, every five minutes. So frustrating. They updated the app about a couple months ago, but didnât help me. Been using the KQED app instead. Miss my local journalists though.
As a longtime subscriber to KPCC, I would expect the station to have a functioning app. It doesnât. Every time I try to open the app, it fails. On the few occasions that it has opened, there is no program schedule that you can access in order to chose what you want to listen to. How can this be? KPCC promotes itself as the most popular NPR station in southern California. Really? How can that possibly be given that most people access radio via the internet, not through radios. Please make fixing this app a priority! I bet there are even knowledgeable KPCC members who would volunteer to fix it!
I always have 89.3 on while in my car driving. Update local new for SoCal.Great week day and weekend guests that cover important local and world events.
After my latest update, this app no longer works. Every few seconds it flips between two alternate broadcasts. To hear the story you were just listening to, you have press âstopâ then âplay.â This takes you back, but only for maybe ten seconds and thenâŚflip! Back to a different broadcast. So frustrating. Guess itâs podcasts from now on. So long, KPCC. Iâll miss you.
