If Only

If only I had this app back in the day. Now that I have it today I feel like a true American. I can name state after state. Thank you.

Fun, Educational App

As a teacher, I can download certain maps, depending on what we're learning in the classroom, and allow my students access to learn on our class iPads during time when they have finished other class activities. It also allows me to give them as an assignment to practice and get help alongside their homework. It's very fun, great voice overs, and a nice range of levels for my students to grow and challenge their geography skills.

Shaky data and other issues

The app itself is not bad but the data and other things need improvement:1. The selection of what is included in the maps in dubious. For example, in the Europe map it includes not only countries but also British territories (Isle of Man, Jersey…). Not really in the same category and quite ethnocentric. On the other hand, the map of Spain has only sixteen autonomous communities. In reality, Spain has seventeen (the Canary Islands are completely forgotten) and, in addition, there are two autonomous cities (Ceuta and Melilla, also forgotten).2. In addition, some of the real countries (e.g. Monaco, Vatican City) are too hard to place correctly because of their small size (even after zooming). There should be an option to get rid of them: that would be especially good for small children. 3. Finally, there is the question of the pronunciation. In a given country (Germany, France, Spain), the app should either use English names and English pronunciation or native names and native pronunciation. The current option (native names and English pronunciation or a bad attempt by a non-local speaker) is definitely not the best, either for English or for native speakers.

Well done app

Both fun and educational. Detailed maps allow you to learn the geography of various locations while still having a blast. There's even a U.S. 13 colonies map to play

OUTSTANDING APP!!!

The BEST App I have purchased, without a doubt the BEST!! I am learning so much and having fun doing it at a very reasonable cost! Amazing colors and graphics, runs smoothly, complete with capitals and flags and pronunciation. Perfect for children or adults who want to learn geography! I am so excited to have found this App!

Terrible Game

It’s extremely obviousIt’s says the names for no reasonIf you take to long it shows you where is it defeating the purpose It just scrolls everywhere by itself And you only get 2 maps you have to pay your hard earned money if you want more maps!

This app is really nice. My 4 yr old son learned all about south America with in a week. Other maps are also great. Need to dig into them.

Great App!!

This is a fantastic app! It is very educational for both my 5 year old and myself! We have already purchased several of the other maps and they are all worth every reasonable dollar I've spent. When I had a download issue, (which ended up being an Apple issue) tech support was very helpful! Bye it!

Description

Puzzle game that is also a great way to learn geography. Purchase maps inside the app (two maps are FREE.) Finish fast enough to earn a high score. You can double-tap the target or drag & drop it into position.

This is the only geography app that uses a full map database so that the map can be panned by dragging or zoomed in or out by pinching. Try a double-finger double-tap to zoom out to full map (handy to quickly back out after you zoomed in close to get one of the tiny regions). Both portrait and landscape can be used. GameCentger high scores let you compete against your friends and other players from around the globe. You can zoom in quite far -- we have provided an amazing amount of detail so that you can see tiny islands and peninsulas that many other map games do not provide. Six levels of play (you must complete a level before the next level is unlocked): + Traveler: New easier level that slowly zooms in on the right spot, skips some of the tiniest regions + Surveyor: Place countries by name. Does not auto-zoom, includes tiny regions, but provides a sonar hint + Explorer: Place countries by name (no sonar hints) + Navigator: Place countries by name of their capital + Discoverer: Challenging! Place countries by their flag instead of the outline shape + Cartographer: Place the capital in the correct spot within its region Check all the Options - you can choose your difficulty level, enable sounds, and more. Choose from two voices that say the name of each country or region as you play. “High Scores” shows the best times for each difficulty level. Dozens of maps are available (price based on size of map). Try out US 13 Colonies and Italy for FREE. Then buy individual countries, such as USA or Canada. Or move up to entire continents, such as Asia or North America. For a challenge, try Oceania, which has many tiny island countries that are difficult to spot. For something a little different, try the maps that place countries around a body of water, such as Pacific Ocean, or Caribbean Sea. Finally, check out the massive World puzzle, with 208 countries.
