Cool Synth but Buggy

There are some audio bugs that really get in the way of, what otherwise would be, a unique and fun iOS synth. The overall architecture of the synth is pretty basic, and the mod matrix has some strange limitations. I assume that these restrictions exist in order to be faithful to the vintage hardware it emulates. It sounds pretty good, and there are ample waveforms provided for each of the four oscillators. The multimode filter sounds okay in some modes and great in others. Envelope interface is fluid if a bit imprecise. I have encountered a bug in which a low end humming loop will persist regardless of notes being pressed that renders this synth worthless for actual jamming at the moment. I have also read that the midi implementation could be better. Once the bugs are squashed, I'd say it's worth the $10 provided you are a synth nerd.

Looks great, sounds great, but broken!

“Save New Preset” function does not work. This makes the app useless to me as I cannot create a sound, modify it and save as a new sound. Can only “Overwrite”, ugh… Wrote product support 2 weeks ago, no reply… Needs AUv3 upgrade anyway. Do not buy. iPad Pro 12.9 inch, 5th generation Software 15.3.1

AUv3 PLEASE!!!!!

Neglecting iOS customers… You are fast becoming the Alesis of the iOS world as far as supporting your product users needs go.😔

Great sounds (when it works)

(iPad Pro 9.7") Arturia make great synths, but for this price they need to be useable... Inter App Audio is problematic in both Cubasis and Auria. Connecting the app usually takes a couple of restarts to get it working in a DAW. And changing presets always crashes (freezes the app and kills audio completely). So you need to remove the app as an IAA instrument in your DAW track, open the app as a standalone, select your preset, reconnect it and, if it does run, not change presets... Also, iProphet has a great in-app keyboard with many useful settings (like a scale selector), but no midi OUT, only IN, so there's no way to record your midi performance from the app and change or tweak presets later. Sort of defeats the keyboard's purpose. I've confirmed this with the Midiflow app (the midi equivalent of audiobus for routing). Unfortunate and I hope they fix it soon... Otherwise it'll just sit there looking and sounding pretty but useless for most work applications.

Love the synth but no AUv3 support.

The only thing this synth is missing in AUv3 support. If it had that it would be perfect.

Vector digital classic

I love this for what is and the unique mod possibilities. It can be so much more than a cool semi Cheesy 80s synth I hope everyone digs. Cheers

No audiounitsv3 support

There is an epidemic of synthesizers not being auv3 compatible and thus being severely limited as options for music production on the iPad. Please fix this. Synth sounds great but it doesn’t play well with anything else.

Was elated to have Lyle mays lead sound... UNTIL

I found out this thing is a nightmare in both auria and cubasis. It sounds good ... 3 1/2 stars. Here's my issue. Arturia. You have a lot of people here complaining about something that's not even getting commented on by you. You gave us a substandard product, charged us a pretty steep price , given the market.. And we did it on your reputation for delivering the real deal. This doesn't represent well. And makes customers wait to see if future products will be the same. Thusly you lose money. That, I'm sure you care about. Because I'm not going blindly in excitement about anything you do until I hear it and read consistent positive reviews... diminished return on ignored customers rarely flies well. Musicians are retry savvy. Come on guys. We ALL expect a lot more than that from your reputation. Please fix this app. Everyone commenting had so much hope to have a real prophet under the hood. And... wah wah. It royally bummed me out. I'd love a refund. Or to trade for one of your good synths. Fix it guys. This is just bad business.

Battery Hog

Eats the iPad battery, no way to turn it off! And there’s no sequencer! Not worth it, even if free.

Description

When a punchy, fat sound is demanded, look no further. iProphet recreates the unique sound of the classic Sequential Circuits Prophet VS synthesizer. Need help?

Have an issue or question? Please email us at [email protected]. The Prophet VS's rareness and classic digital sound make it a mainstay for those who can find them. The sound is purely classic crisp digital sound that easily stands on its own, but at the same time is the perfect compliment to the sound of analog synthesizers. iProphet brings the crystaline vintage sound of four digital oscillators and allows sculpting them using a creamy and warm multimode filter. iProphet comes with over 500 presets created by some of todays best sound designers. Use it in Tabletop to compose your music. You can morph the sound of the 4 oscillators using the joystick or the vector mode and the vector envelope. You can also swap presets between iProphet and Arturia's Prophet V synthesizer which allows you to work on the iPad and finish in the DAW of your choice. iProphet is a Tabletop Ready app. The connect menu allows you to connect iProphet to the Retronyms Tabletop app, giving you an integration with a complete studio environment. Tabletop also features add-ons for more effects and instruments from other 3rd party companies. iProphet supports Core MIDI, interapp-audio as well as Audiobus technologies for perfect integration. The use of the brands 'Prophet' and 'Sequencial Circuits' is done with permission of Dave Smith Instruments. Features Include: - Vector screen with joysticks to mix oscillators and envelopes - Super flexible Modulation Matrix - 3 DSP effects (overdrive, delay, and chorus) - 96 different wave forms to control pitch - 4 filter types - Vector envelope featuring loop points - Unison/detune for beefy sounds - Full user MIDI mapping of panel controls - Tabletop Ready app - Soundcloud seeder (via Tabletop) - Render to .wav file (via Tabletop) - AudioCopy to paste your audio into another iPad application (via Tabletop)
