Great Ideas. Clunky UI

This is the app I want to use. Of the inventory apps I’ve tried, I think this has the most potential. As of v2.0.4 there are a few issues, namely when I try to send an issue to the developer from the app I can’t. My guess is the develop is relying on Apple’s mail app being installed, but it doesn’t have to be, so in my case, I can’t even send feedback. I have found a few reproducible crashes I’d like to report. That said, I’ve purchased the subscription to this app as the developer is doing frequent releases to address issues. The UI interactions are not ideal and it took me a while to start to understand how to use the app. For example, “Collections” i think took me a good 5-10 min of fumbling around to find all the editing controls, which leads to UI complaint:The “More” section, those are buttons in that horizontal scroll, not purely informational. Also you can had multiple tags to an item in one go, and you can add an item to multiple collections, but not in one go. You have to go back and forth to do it. I still like this app, the rate of updates shows the developer is currently dedicated to making a great app. It’s got issues, nothing that can’t be fixed with time. More importantly, this app knows it’s voice. It’s not mature yet, but it’s clear where it wants to go. A solid 3 stars, it’s not great or fantastic yet, I think it will get there though with the right support.

An honest review from someone who hasn’t had time to set up the app yet

Hi. I’m Avery. This is my honest review of an app that I honestly haven’t had time to set up yet. I downloaded it as part of the indieappsanta advent calendar. Fabian offered a free multi user lifetime license. He did not have to do this. He could have reduced the cost or offered an extended free trial. He went out of his way to be nice and yes it helped to promote his app but there were some issues that were out of his control that people left bad reviews and messages for. Support indie developers and help them figure it all out as they go as well. No need for the hate. And Fabian, keep up the good work and don’t let this get you down!!

Does everything I need but…

First, this app is not free, but you can test almost the full functionality before paying. I did try the multiuser but canceled the trial as I don't need it and opted for just the Pro license. I'm responsible for ordering paper goods, detergents, supplies, etc, and this app is perfect for tracking what's running low. Second, it seems full-featured, but it lacks one crucial thing: export. I'm in a location, I see the items, but there is no way to export a list to send to my colleague or boss. Please add this feature! Overall, I recommend this app, but I'm expecting to export to excel or pdf inside locations or collections soon. You can export your whole inventory, so why not locations?

App crashes when attempting to upgrade

When attempting to upgrade the app, the app crashes and closes out. You offer this in app purchases for free. You go to upgrade it and the app crashes. The device I am using is an 13 pro max with current software. I did not try it on my iPad, so I don’t know if its just an iPhone issue. My review was left out of frustration and could of been handled differently. I think in the same way, after getting so many 1 star reviews might have played into how your response was worded. Along those lines though, I feel you thought I wrote my review with malice. Missing out on the free offer did play into my 1 star, but mainly the fact it crashed repeatedly was a bigger factor. The developer seemed to treat me as I was lying. The app crashed. If you share an email, I will be willing to,share step by step what I did that ended in this error. I rewrote my whole review to show you my good faith. Sorry about the multiple times this was submitted through writing. App Store keep closing out and I lost what I wrote. Please forgive me for the way my first review was written. This is why I just rewrote the whole review. Looking forward to maybe figuring out the problem with the way the iPhone handles your app.

Overwhelmingly good!

This app has so many customization options it can get overwhelming, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. You can spend hours setting it up, but after, you are left with easy-to-access collections and filters, including tags and templates. The game-changer for me is locations. Having structure gives me order, control and serves as a navigation tool since the locations in the app mirror my physical locations. At a glance, if a shelf is empty, I know right away and can take action. I use collections as categories, and with that, I have complete control over every single item in my inventory. Whenever I make a sale, I know exactly where it is, if I produce a new item, I know where to store it, if I’m running low, I can plan ahead; if I run out of stock and I’m closing a sale I know if I have all the raw materials I need. It has helped me manage my inventory better than anything else I’ve found.

The best inventory tracker

I used spreadsheets to track inventory manually, and it worked, at least for a while. But the errors started to pile up when I needed to track individual quantities of the same item in two separate locations. I tried Sortly and Airtable, but they were expensive. I don't know about you, but I like apps designed with iOS in mind, and Inventory List feels right at home. The previous version started feeling a bit dated but still had a nice familiar feeling. The new version feels like a completely new app, and I was not too fond of it at first, but after playing with it, everything feels intuitive, and adjusting quantities could not be easier. I love the new search feature with tags to make it more granular. I use tag filters extensively, and now you can add other criteria but I found them a bit buggy. Fortunately, the developer contacted me right away and will fix the issues. The killer feature in the new version is history. That was another problem with sharing spreadsheets and everyone touching the inventory. This is a great app, hands down, and I use it daily to help me keep track of all the stuff I need at the shop. Thank you for the new version and for adding bigger fonts.

Decent enough...

It isn't the prettiest thing but definitely has all the functionality you could need! Multiple locations, ability to transfer between locations, ability to view your items in multiple ways (via "collections," "locations," etc.) - it's all there. There is a misspelling when going to transfer from one location to another - it says "trasfering" instead of transfer... but otherwise solid. Removing one star for the look and feel and how long it takes to refresh/sync on opening the app. Sometimes we have to sit and wait for several minutes before seeing the most up to date information.

Essential inventory tool

As a long-time user, it is time to update my review. I have to say I love this app, and I don't know what I would do without it. After the update to version 3, the app crashed, and I lost a day of work, but the next day a fix was available, and it shows how much the developer cares. I do have a minor gripe, though. The app needs more export options, insights, and the ability to filter history. Until this is fixed, it’s only 4 stars, but I still rate it 5 stars based on other functionality. For the price, having the ability to add and remove collaborators, it's pretty affordable and essential for me.

Love it!

I breed small animals and am required to keep inventory of all animals that are and have been in my care, per my USDA license. I absolutely love all of the options and fields you can add, as I have a lot of specialized information I need to record. I almost passed this app over because I was looking for an app that would work with my Bluetooth barcode scanner. Little did I realize I was running it in IOS vs HID mode. Once I switched modes I was able to scan with my Bluetooth scanner vs. the built-in scanner, which for me is much more convenient. I purchased the full version and plan to recommend this app to fellow breeders.

Review #2

I see that there is a feature for dates which is good but you only get one date entry per item instead of date per input which could be saved and viewed in a reports bin with sub sections for specific report based information like “purchases” and “sales” or “transfers” by date and time even a transaction number would be nice… also the only way to deduct product is to transfer or adjust down, bummer… maybe a amount-sold button that can be linked to reports via sales would be nice for batch order sales.. Also the app has a alphabet scroll when looking at the filers and clicking to see what items are in each filter however they didn’t add that in the item scroll when viewing by location they forgot or in a rush.. previous 3 stars now 4 because the date and adjustable filters but needs to be improved for max usage
