A Hidden Gem

I seriously don’t understand how more people haven’t heard of or played this game. Seriously the amount of work the development team have put into this game is astounding, I’ve never seen a company care this much about a game which is completely free to play. The idle/incremental game market has been over saturated with the same micro transaction ridden garbage for quite a while now, but this game has soul. Although they do offer in app purchases and you can view advertisements for some in game power, it never feels unfair. You can play the game just fine without having to pay a cent. (Side note the developers are very active on the games official subreddit /r/idleapocalypse which is awesome.) Aside from how good Grumpy Rhino is at taking care of and updating their games, the game itself is the best mobile game experience I’ve ever had. Although it can become tedious at times, the game never seems unfair or boring and there’s plenty to do to aid in your attempt to destroy all of humanity. The characters have, well character. The comedy is fantastic as well. The sprites are beautifully crafted and animated, there’s not a single thing about this game that I can complain about. Seriously thank you guys so much for keeping me distracted from school work for countless hours, never change Grumpy Rhino. ❤️

Best idle game I’ve ever played

This is literally the BEST idle game I’ve ever played. I happen to be a lover of tapping and idle games, and I’ve played many of them ( make it rain, adventure capitalist, adventure communist, cookie clicker, etc.) and none have quite got me like this. Unlike other idle games, there is real strategy (wow!), and it really makes you think. It is unique and one of the biggest things: You don’t get bored playing. That’s right. You don’t sit there and wait and wait and wait and tap like other games. There are actually things you can do. I spent like 30 mins just reading the dialogue. Also the ads actually give you big bonuses, which is very rare. And the tapping part doesn’t just give you money it actually gives you big boosts to things and also gives you many different resources (spells and generators). All in all this game is AMAZING and it is like a diamond in the rough compared to other idle games (can’t believe it only got 2k reviews). Definitely download NOW and begin creating the apocalypse!

Great, but Events need balancing

Idle Apocalypse is by far the best idle game I have ever played and I thoroughly enjoy most aspects of it. The only issue I have is the events, when I started the Other Tower event was going on and at that point I had no idea what was going on. I got the 3rd prize from the bottom, no big deal. I ended up getting used to the events and started to love them! Then..... the Aquatic event came. I played and played and played that event, I wanted the Merman at least. By the end I was very upset to see I had only went ~1 Billion (km?) in depth, earning the first prize from the bottom. All the other events I was so close to the top 4 prizes, but the Aquatic event and it’s balancing is ALL whacked out. Im writing this review because I know RhinoGames often balances and updates this app, and I want something done. This may just sound like me complaining because I didnt do well, but I used almost every boost besides the buyable ones. My HR room was at +50% production offline so I thought I would do pretty decent (That is if the HR room affects events). Anyways, this is my only complaint, and it’s not like Im expecting top prize in any event. I mean the app has to make money somehow, so they make it $10 to double and if youre at 2nd prize and want that legendary you buy that and get 1st prize.

Very fun idle game!

I’ve had this game for a while, and I love almost everything about it! It’s original, funny, and the pixilated art style is cute. I’ve had so much fun with it, and plan to keep playing it! Of all the monsters, the litch has to be my favorite- it looks so cool! My only complaint is that it’s difficult to get good stuff on the events, and that sometimes it can be hard to progress (getting enough cola for all those upgrades is a nightmare!) but I just have to push through the challenges- after all, this is a game of patience, as any idle game would be. I love that you can double your rewards once a day, so the game isn’t punishing you for not spending every waking moment on it. As mentioned before, it’s very humorous, so you can spend some time looking at dialogue while waiting for stuff to be made. Great game, keep up the good work!Just got the Christmas update, and I must say, I love that you can now get things through tasks instead of spending souls, I didn’t end up getting much in the Halloween event because of that, and this is definitely an improvement.

Uh oh, two bugs

So, I have come to really like this game, a lot, and I’m doing so, I have found two glitches. The first one is either a visual bug, or an actual bug, which is when I upgrade the max efficiency in the HR department, and go offline for a bit, on the top bar when you get back on (the one that tells you how much items you got and how much you have used) it will mention that the tower works at 50% efficiency. I hope this is a visual glitch but I will probably test it out to see. The second one is that I will put one of the creatures on pause, and sometimes, they will still be produced (the only times I’ve seen it were with the succubus though so it might just be a problem with that). Anyway the fact that I’ve only found two glitches and have been playing for a while (don’t have Time Wheel yet though) is pretty good. You have all made an excellent game that runs pretty well, and is just an all out pretty awesome idle game. I’m happy this has become one of my daily games to play and I hope you all know, you all did a fantastic job. I hope you are all having an amazing day <3

this game made my memories

Yes, this game is so amazing that one of my most happy memories of my life. I went on vacation to Florida a couple years ago (from Texas) and when people ask me what my favorite part is, I say playing idle apocalypse on the plane and car rides. This story might sound irrelevant, but my point is that this is the best game on the App Store especially if you like pixelized graphics ( I’m obviously a fan) in most clicker games you will go in, claim your offline rewards and leave. This becomes a chore over time. Well this is the only game that I enjoy playing rather than checking in on every few hours. The funny dialogue, tower management, and constant upgrades are what keep you online and happy. I have bought every pack in the game, but not to worry new players, THE GAME IS AWESOME WITHOUT PACKS. In no way is this pay to win, I just did this to support Grumpy Rhino. The ads are ONLY optional and they only play if you want them to. Also saving up gems ( the currency you purchase for real money) are easy to save up without spending a single penny. This has been a long review but I only have one request for this game, MORE EVENTS! 😂😂😂😂😂

Awesome

If you hate grinding just turn off wifi and change time in settings do not change that because it makes the ads worth watching and I will delete the game if you change it and if you like grinding (me) then you will love this game please get it. Note to developers more towers and maybe changing hero’s would be so cool 😎 and I like how you have to balance serten buildings it makes me think which is awesome. Just keep on adding stuff and I will be happy (cool way to put in prestiging like in most idle games but yours is really cool and come up with more funny dilogue)😁. Because I don’t want to write a new review I have my old one and new one.New review: the ads are sorta buggy and I try to watch my ad and get the sweet bonus but it gives me no video so I get no bonus and I will watch a video just give me one.Ideas: you should add these things this is some recommendation for really late game stuff and should only be purchasable with a ton of gems a way to schedule changes in what is produced. Like instead of making ogre hair make broken orbs or something like this because I don’t wanna wake up at night just to switch over. This is a very unique idle game it plays a lot better than most because you don’t just watch numbers go up instead you see them fluctuate like in a more natural way. You actually have to think a little it’s not a mindless tapping game

Honestly the top of the line in idle games

This game is a witty, intelligent, humorous and fun package that I dare to say is worthy of pc release more so then mobile. I’m quite surprised at the fact an App Store let this on due to simply how good it is. It has charming humor and dialogue, which endears you too the hilarious characters, and a heavily addictive game loop. For an idle game, even late game it goes rather fast, without having to wait very long for buildings, so I find myself coming back often. The music is also quite pleasant, if a tad repetitive. The free to play money incentives are very minuscule, making this game almost a completely add free experience if you choose to avoid them. Another thing of note is the amazing sprites and sprite animation. The style of this game makes it worthy of being as well know as the greats like Clash of Clans, Subway Surfers, and Jetpack Joyride. This game is truly worthy of anyone’s time, and is a stand out in an App Store full of filler garbage. I would love to see more games like this

Don’t limit my progression

I really did want to give this game a 5 star, But I have a big issue with the game. I hated that after my 3rd prestige I could not build any more floors, not because I didn’t have the materials, but because you’ve programmed the game to holt progress if you have not prestiged enough. By the third prestige I was able to unlock Rick pretty fast, but I was hit with a floor that said I needed to prestige 4 times to continue building. ALSO now that I have done the 4th prestige it’s saying I can continue building when I deal 1 mil damage in the NEXT prestige. I dealt almost 5 mil damage for the fourth one and for some reason that doesn’t matter. Please understand I’m not rating this 3 stars compared to the other games in the App Store. I can’t believe I don’t have to pay for this game because of how well made it is. Love went into this while all the other free game aren’t even a game, none of them are fun for more than 2 minutes meanwhile this game is funny, beautiful, creative, and entertaining! This game is amazing, the progression is the only thing I dislike. Thank you for making gems easy enough to get because I will never pay for game currency.

Decent idle game, wish ads were less buggy

I’ve been playing this game for a couple weeks now and I’ve enjoyed killing time on it so far. I usually don’t like to pay for micro transactions unless I really really love a game and am impressed by the amount of work and care they’ve put into it, and haven’t been forced to yet which I like, all the purchasable things are cosmetic. You’re also not forced to watch ads which is awesome, and I don’t mind to from time to time especially if there’s some sort of in-game reward for doing so like this game has. The only issue is that from my experience the ad delivery is always successful, but I’m only getting a reward for it about 15% of the time which is frustrating. I believe it’s because the ads make you temporarily “leave” the game by opening a smaller App Store page within the game which may make the game think the ad was not actually watched? Even though I always have to click the “X” afterwards? It’s just frustrating and I’d love to see this fixed because it’s my only problem with it so far. Otherwise, it’s a fun game for a while and I could maybe see myself telling others about it if they have any idle games.
