Missed the mark

I’ve played the game for a little while and this is an unbiased review. The game is good but there is so much missing. The game is super zoomed in and when you zoom out it’s like too zoomed out it’s hard to find a comfortable spot. Also I started a manager mode and I couldn’t draft any players the first year cause i had no coins? how do you set up a manager mode but not allow me to do the most fun part. In addition the controls are just funky. To power shoot you have to hold and drag. Seems simple on paper but when you hold and drag you have to put your finger down in order to drag (obviously) and every time you do that it shoots. Also it’s wayyy to easy to check players so bodies are just flying everywhere every time you are on defense even in the harder settings. All in all the game is fun if you like fast paced sports games you’ll like this. If you played their other game like Hoop League you might find this a change of pace in a positive or negative way. Either way I think the plan was their but it missed the mark. I would like to see a different game maybe soccer in the future from this developer.

What a great game

I have play this since mid February, and have really enjoyed it. I am currently in my 15th year of General manager mode and on a 3rd year in career. Few issues, 1 tripping penalties happen when the player is miles away from who got tripped. (Not a big deal, just don’t like taking penalties) 2. Checking penalties are very random, my player could get checked from behind and no penalty would be called and vice versa. 3. Goalie AI, I get that it is a computer controlled (Speaking from someone who doesn’t use the manual goalie controls) but he just will move out of the way on certain shots for what ever reason. I really enjoy the game and can’t wait to see what updates (if any) are coming to the game. The thing I wish was easier was the whole save sharing system for custom leagues and players, if there was a way to do that within the game that would great. Other than that even with the minor issues this is still one of my favorite games which I have kept coming back to and really enjoy playing. Great job on the game Koality, can wait to see what your next update or game is!

Amazing Hockey Game

The game had a bit of a touchy start, with semi unresponsive controls and it was hard to understand. After playing for a while the controls got easier, and now with a better tutorial and better controls, the game feels great. It definitely requires strategy during actual gameplay, don’t expect to hop in the game and start scoring easy goals on all difficulties. Also with premium there’s a plethora of things you can do with your league, practically anything you can think of, you can control and insert into your own league. Also, if you’re a fan of retro bowl, this feels like it but with more control over gameplay, you get to play on defense, and much more customization options for your team. Not to mention an actual trade system that feels real. Amazing game, can’t wait to see more!

Love it

First stared playing Hoop League cause I like basketball, and got bored one day and found this gem by the same creators. I’m not much of a hockey guy myself, but I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining this game is. Taking control of a team and rebuilding is really fun, and is my favorite part. A question I have is, can I use pictures from my gallery for team logos, and if I can’t, that would be a really fun feature I think. I think it would also be cool if you could take control of 1 specific player, either created by the user, or already existing, and have them level up a different way, like having set goals per games, such as 2 assists or 5 body checks or something like that.

Great game

This game is good with solid fast paced arcade style gameplay and 90s style graphics and lots of customization. Though there are some things that I would like to see added in the future like more customization options for players such as beards hair accessories similar to that of hoop league tactics and the ability to change things about the arena like seats and stairs. Also the option to have a outdoor or winter classic game would be really cool. Overall ice league hockey is the best mobile hockey game and I can’t wait to see what comes in the future.

Needs some work

I’ve played a lot of this game now, and the gameplay is really fun! What isn’t fun is trying to manage your team and make it good enough for your gameplay to be fun. This game’s screaming fundamental flaw is the way that development works. It takes FOREVER to develop a player. If you don’t have your season set to 30+ games he’ll only get better by maybe half a star throughout a season. The crippling blow with this is by the time you finally do get him developed, players like to retire AT AGE 30, which is ridiculous. Why would a player retire in the middle or beginning of his prime? Overall the developers did a lot of great work with this game, but please, for the love of god, at least push back how early these guys retire.

Incredibly Disappointing

I was super excited about this game and I was in the discord following along the develop with much anticipation. Now, I will say that everything besides the gameplay is great, but gameplay is the most important part, and it’s awful. First of all, the controls are often un responsive and tough to get used to. Second, the gameplay is rigged. The cpu will knock you off the puck constantly but it’s impossible to push them off of it, even on the easiest difficulty. Not to mention the CPU defense barely gives me on shooting lanes. Meanwhile, my cpu defense gives the computer every lane imaginable to take a shot on goal. My third and final point is that’s it’s way to difficult to score. It’s already hard enough to get a shot though but now I have to actually finish, on a cpu goalie that’s a brick wall. Overall, I’m incredibly disappointed by this games release, hopefully as it gets updated it improves but as of right now it’s awful and rigged.

Great Game!

If you like hockey and creative team management then try this game out. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is there’s not much going on during the season, which makes playing game after game pretty repetitive. It would be cool if teams came to you with trade offers, or if there were other decisions to be made between games. It would also be cool if there was some off-ice things your players could do like charity organizations or something. Another suggestion is to be able to control your AI players play styles. Sometimes you want them to forecheck or back check better but they always do the same thing. Just some ideas! Other than that the game is fun!

Great game, some things could be improved

This game is actually really fun. The gameplay is fun and fast paced. The controls are easy to learn and I strongly recommend the touch controls. The game is very well put together and the interface is great. However, something’s could be added or changed.I think there should be some instruction on faceoffs and fighting as those are not in the tutorial. I also think there should be a guide taking us through season mode as some things are confusing and you have to figure it out. Something else that needs to be changed is penalties, specifically tripping. Sometimes I will be skating down the ice and a random tripping call will be happen. I think that tripping should only be allowed to happen from stick checks. Also, there is just too much fighting and therefore 4v4’s, unlike real life. Overall Ice League Hockey is a very good game and I look forward to what they bring in the future. Thank you.

Not that entertaining

It’s fun when you actually get to play. I enjoy career mode as I like having some goal to accomplish rather then just doing a quick play game however, no matter how good you are you’re out for like 3/4 of every single game. You essentially get to watch the ai play itself. Not fun at all! Sometimes the puck gets stuck almost vibrating on the stick of the affected player while the game just runs through all the time with essentially nothing happening and unable to play and fix it manually since you’re out.( it will sometimes do a face off but not always) Others have mentioned difficulty but honestly just head straight to the goal and pray(I’m on rookie though). I can usually get 1-2 goals a game even with the short play time. Not currently worth buying premium, as I’m not sure it will fix the issue with being out for long periods. Thank god for the fast forward button or I would’ve deleted the game within 15min. Maybe a sim until you play button rather then a fast forward one would make things better?
