worst game

made me experience halloween in the middle of december. had the worst time of my life in the halloween virtual live rooms, i was yelling akito at the top of my lungs in hopes of glimpsing him during the live because he is so orange like a pumpkin and would’ve festive. but no. he was not there, nowhere to be seen. for your information for those who are reading reviews akito is one of the characters in the game he is a orange man and he reminds me very much of a pumpkin and pumpkin spice. one time, i went to starbucks and ordered a pumpkin spice latte back in october, and as i was drinking it, i had visions of akito sitting across from me at the table in my local starbucks. what a surprise! i never ordered the pumpkin spice latte again. back to topic, i really wish that if you were holding a halloween live in the middle of frosty, delightful december- that akito would be here to say hello like the pumpkin he is. when i think of december, i think of christmas and i think of snow. i hope that if there’s a christmas live, that toya would be there because he has frosty vibes. and since toya would be here that means it is likely that akito is lurking somewhere nearby, which grants me a higher chance at glimpsing that Pumpkin. now i await, in my lofty abode, for akito to rear his orange head.

Blew me away

I actually went into this game expecting it to be mediocre or just bad. I thought that the addition of different groups was unnecessary and I wished that they would just focus on the vocaloid characters. But, when I started playing, the story got me hooked and I ended up falling in love with the new characters! I actually switched most all of the songs to the sekai version when I had previously been biased toward keeping the original vocaloid versions. The game runs really well on my iPhone 13 mini, only a few problems every now and then that were probably due to Wi-Fi or ones that were fixed pretty quickly. Gameplay is really fun, story is great, events are great, and the best part of all is that the game isn’t too focused on grinding. In my opinion, it’s just about better than project diva. Thank you Sega for making an amazing game and adding some great, more obscure songs instead of focusing on the more popular vocaloid tracks! My only complaint is that I wish it would’ve stayed project sekai instead of being changed to colorful stage. The Japanese name makes so much more sense.

If you stay casual it’s perfect

The five stars come from my experience overall and when I’m not trying to full combo songs on Hard difficulty. This is honestly the best rhythm game app I’ve seen of it’s kind. The UI and art has a lot of love and detail packed in. The gameplay is pretty involved since, as others pointed out, the notes go with parts of the song, not just the beat. It feels natural for the most part, I’ve only seen a few spots in beatmaps that are a bit iffy. The character stories are interesting and one even pushes a bit into some darker themes for those who are fans of those types of Vocaloid songs. But do not try too hard to full combo a song past Normal difficulty unless you are really, really good with rhythm games and working around hit detection. Because there are some noticeable hit detection issues once you start trying to do so, and very minor lag issues that the average player might not even notice unless doing co-op. Please, it’s for your own good I say this. I’d envy those who have Master difficulty unlocked if I didn’t know it could be so painful to reach.

Too much Grinding compared to Bandori and 4* rates are poor

EXP tickets barely do anything and you need to play a lot to get your characters to max level compared to Bandori GBP. 4* rates are also really bad compared to other Gacha Mobage, but can be considered somewhat normal in terms of rhytm gacha specifically. It’s easier to get characters you actually want in other mobage that uses gacha like Arknights or even Genshin, maybe GBF also. There are 2 4* in each banner, which I believe is purposely done to dilute the chances of getting a desired single character 4*, which is what other gacha do as well aside from Genshin, but most other games have also have pity rate that will help you get the featured or selected 4*. There is a spark system where if you pull 300 times you can select the 4* you want though. Also, unlike bandori, this game does not have rooms where items beside elemental materials are rate up. iirc bandori at least had coin and exp tix rate up rooms.tl;dr, very grindy, poor gacha rates. Not a very good game to play casually as an f2p, but otherwise pretty standard. Nothing really sets it apart aside from the vocaloid songs and covers.

Response to the responses and request

I really love this game. It has lots of content, characters, and it’s really worth the amount of storage it takes. All of you guys complaining about combos and the life system, you know this means your bad at the game when you die, right? Don’t complain because I’m sure most people here have multiple full combos and master songs and full combo on those etc. When you call the game hard, it’s just telling us you’re bad. But I would definitelly give this game five stars if it had a way to give us more crystals. I feel like it’s way to hard to get four stars and I might just have bad luck but I feel like we need an increased four star drop rate or something. And in some games you may know like genshin impact or honkai impact for example, the wishes you’ve done counts towards the next event banner too. That would make this game so much easier either that or maybe an easier way to get crystals. And I feel like there should be a way to get paid crystals by not buying them for overpriced prices. Because on event banners like pick a four star or something us free to plays are kinda stuck in the dumps. I know you guys need to make money, so maybe like 5 or so crystals in one paid crystal? It’s just hard to keep up some times if you know what I mean. But I totally love this game but wish there was another way to get characters I want. I would say, 4.5 stars or so.

Love love love but

I played the beta in october and also played the Japanese version afterwards. I love the game and Im so happy they released tbe english version although I have a few things to say since I played the beta and Japanese.Same as the beta, the english version still has some what of a live show lag, the japanese one never did, which is a bit confusing. Ive cleared cache and turned things off, just to experience the same thing. Its not my phone because its brand new, so definitely the game. Also, when doing swipe note mainly (might be others as well), but those notes aren’t read and are missed unlike the Japanese. Also last but not least, will there ever be a friend option like the other ones? I would like that. I’m confused why its different on this version. I am glad they are releasing songs everyday, although I find all my characters leveled up and maxed and I have a lot to use but Ive already played all my songs. Could be faster lolbut Im so glad I can play Miku again

Best Rhythm Game!

This game has a variety of JP songs. There are five levels, easy, normal, hard, expert, and master. Master is locked, and you have to get fewer than 7 good/bad/misses (how well you hit a note) to unlock it. And there are different levels (i.e. lv. 26) that tells how difficult this particular level of song is, as not all songs on each level (easy, normal, hard, expert, master) are the same difficulty. It has very high quality graphics and runs very smoothly. I have seen many complaints about the life system, and while, yes, you can die very quickly, it is very fair. It is EXTREMELY easy to get gems in this game (you get nearly 100 from completing a new song) and it requires only ten gems to continue. And if it is too hard, you can do a song less hard, or adjust the speed (of the notes), or go down a level (i.e. expert to hard). You can also build up life depending on what character card you have (you get different ones by wishing for them with gems), and if you space out the amount of notes you miss, you can miss over thirty notes in a song and still survive easily. It is not like other rhythm games in the fact that other games make you die or restart if you miss a single note. This game is one of my favorites. 10/10 would recommend to anyone willing to give it a chance.

Add more Vflower songs lol

As much as I'd love to give this game a 4 or 5 star, I can't begin to explain how annoyingly bad the note registration is. I have had people watch me attempt to full combo songs i could full combo with my eyes closed on a good day, but the note registration is so bad that whenever i try to tap on the notes? NOTHING HAPPENS. Literally not even me missing the note, the registration has caused HOLD NOTES to end abruptly, the entire lane will stop responding, flick notes getting registered as missed even though i hit them very obviously. I want to enjoy this game and wouldn't you know it, one of the biggest parts of it is tapping the screen and not missing notes!! BUT YOU CANT DO THAT HALF THE TIME BECAUSE HALF THE TIME THE NOTES DONT GO THROUGH. Its embarrassing how bad this issue is, i cant enjoy the frankly absolutely wonderful songs you guys add to this game without having my blood pressure reach higher levels then the people on event leaderboards. It's annoying and I've considered uninstalling the game on so many occasions because of it.And part of me doubts you guys will do something about it.Other than that 10/10 game, characters are cool, the gacha system is as toxic as gacha can get, and the stories have me on the floor in tears 8/10 of the time and absolutely loving the event 2/10 of the time, other than the incredibly annoying beat maps and note registration issues, i recommended this game for any vocaloid rhythm game enjoyers

Exceeded Expectations

My friend had raved about this game but I wasn’t convinced. I hadn’t played a rhythm game on my phone since the old Tap Tap games. I gave it a try and I was honestly blown away. I’m playing on my iPhone 13 pro and am loving it. The gameplay feels so polished and runs smooth. The vibration on hitting each note is such a simple touch but it makes the game so much more immersive. The gacha elements are non obtrusive and in their own respective place. Getting new songs is not locked behind gacha which is awesome. I have collected four songs all from in game non purchased rewards. I’ve personally gotten a bundle but that was just to get materials for a costume. I’m enjoying the game so far. They have been adding songs every few days or so lately and that has been really cool. The only thing I’d like to see more of would be music video songs. They really separate this game from anything else in my opinion. Thank you and keep up the good work.

A lot of fun with one major drawback

I really love this game. It’s hard to find rhythm games that keep me entertained for such long periods of time. My one complaint is the life system. It’s way too harsh for what it is. You miss 12 notes out of the literal hundreds of notes flying at you and you fail the entire level. It also doesn’t regenerate with notes you hit right like in beat saber. It just stays at whatever percentage it’s at until you hit one poor note and lose. I’d rather have a system like most rhythm games I’ve seen where the amount of perfects and goods you hit give you a little bar on the left. If your bar is at 70 or above, you win. Every right note brings it up a little bit poor or missed notes bring it down a little more. It’s a much better system then me messing up at the beginning and then losing at the end of the song because of it. Doesn’t matter how good you play the rest of the song, 3 seconds is literally all it takes for you lose an entire level in this game. And yeah you can spend gems to keep going but at that point you’ve paused the song to tell me I lost and now my groove is gone. Not to mention that starting a song from a pause is so harrowing, you most likely will lose again before you get used to the speed again. I really do like this game but the level system takes away from what I feel like could be a perfect music game experience.
