The iPhone is equipped with compass, this works through the magnetometer, present in all smartphones. Approaching different materials in this magnetometer will interfere with the electromagnetic field measured, that report different values for each material used. What we did was to sample the interference of the various materials (gold or metal) and tune the algorithm so that I recognize the composition of the object which we will examine with the app! Its operation is simple: - Open the application, read the labels that indicate the location of the sensor on the different devices: iPhone 6, 6 plus, iPad, iPad mini sensor is placed at the top, in the center. On previous iPhone is placed in the upper right corner, also indicated by the label. - Place the phone on top of the material to be analyzed (according to the appropriate location on the sensor, on iPad / iphone 6 in the upper end, on the other iPhone the sensor is AROUND THE APPLE, in the backward of the phone) and press "CHECK". You will see in the video composition of the object that you place in question! Also work with the cover!! This app is intended for entertainment purposes only, it's not a professional instrument. Do not approach the phone magnets, speakers, microphones or any object capable of altering the electromagnetic field, because the values may be distorted. Detects only objects in gold and metal. If you put an object that is not a metal or gold object, the app report ever that the object is in gold. You have to put only gold or metal object. If you put an object that isn't in gold or metal, the app report ever that the object is in gold: put only gold or metal object.
