Love it, but…

I fell in love with this game from the first day I played. I have spent a few dollars on it, because I don’t mind giving back when I have been given so much free entertainment. But I find myself, almost a year later, wondering, isn’t there anything more to achieve than the first day I played? I mean, I’m nearing the end of what they have created in the Main Mines, and the Events are the same week after week. Isn’t there anything more to achieve? The Goblin Dudes get to around the same levels with every Main Mine, and you get a teaser of what they could be in the Events…but I personally have never gotten past Level 26 or 27 in an Event, and don’t get past the hard hats in the Mains, basically because there’s not enough time. Why not let the Mains go on…past 3 or 4 parts? Then we can get our Dudes to the Spacesuits and maybe beyond, if there is a beyond? Because I don’t know about anyone else, but I have given all the dollars I’m going to, to a game that goes no further. Tempt me, tease me! Isn’t that what we all want…?

Ok game, but gets repetitive

After seeing countless ads for this game I decided to finally check it out. First of all, the ad is nothing like the game which, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but it’s disappointing. Regardless the game has some good graphics and I must commend the developers for that. The game play was ok but it gets repetitive and boring real quick. The activities are all the same and your mine gets reset each time so you have to do the same leveling and building of your goblins. The cost for upgrades gets expensive all too quickly so you spend a lot of time just waiting to build up enough income to buy upgrades. I know the upgrades are supposed to be “permanent” but it doesn’t seem to matter when you start a new mine and have to do the same same thing all over again. In the end, the game is ok but by the 10th mine, you’ll find it’s the same thing over and over again.

False Advertising at its Finest

The adds make it look like fun, you control the action with a little touchscreen joystick and move your goblin(s) all around, hacking at ores, running over and collecting the rewards that stack beautifully on your back, then depositing them into your buildings for more goblins and better upgrades. Everything from the graphics, animations, camera angle, and promise the ad delivers is missing from the actual game. In reality it is a flat, two dimensional, tap-tap game where you do nothing but tap the screen as the goblins slowly, gruelingly, hack away at ores then stand there idly waiting to be dragged over to the next ore while you tap on the gold pieces. There is no puzzles where you mines through numbered blocks to collect pickaxes to increase your own pickaxe strength, no great big bulldozers you can control and rip through different ores and gems then collect them in the trunk, none of it. Plain and simple, false advertising for a bland and boring game with maybe 10% of the same art assets used in the fake ads. Despicable. Gonna be contacting the USFTC and opening a claim because I’ve had it with these money grubbing mobile games falsely advertising their weak products.

Needs a little more

Fun idle game. Almost too idle. Needs more stuff for when you’re actually in the app. Money only buys time or random chance upgrades. Would be nice to use gems for something like dynamite packs, or goblin upgrades. Speaking of upgrades, goblins merge but there’s not much else to them. You can upgrade a card to strengthen them but that’s it. How about something for speeding up mining for a short time, or allowing them to move forward after finishing a rock for a limited number of spaces?Idle goblins are also useless. With the bottle necks of some levels, having too many goblins of different levels is such a waste. It would be cool to be able to put them working towards a mine to speed it up, or sell them off for gold or elixirs. Last thing, coming back after an extended period of time and having a lot of stuff to pick up can be overwhelming to my pea brain. A button to “pick up all” would be nice. Game is fun, easy to get into, easy to open up and then close for a few hours. It’s an idle game.

Poor support team

I got all the way to mine 14 spending hours upon hours on the game progressing in the events to build elixir and everything and then clicked to leave the event and when it pulled up my main mine it reset my entire game. I reached out to support and was told I’d be contacted in 24 hours and to tell them my mine level and if I made an purchases so I did after 2 days responded AGAIN to find out what’s going on. They said sorry it’s taking so long and to tell them my mine level and if I made any purchases (basically repeating what they’ve already said when my last message already had this information in it) so again I did and it’s been over 2 weeks now since it reset my game and still no answer. Very upset with this game that their support team is so terrible and I can’t even get back to mine 14 I’m not about to put hours back into the game for this to happen again. Don’t bother downloading unless you’re willing to restart out of nowhere and not be able to get your progress back.

Great Game, just one suggestion

I have always loved idle games. They are great when you are waiting for your girlfriend/wife to shop at Target, or waiting at the doctors office. The mini event mines before the big event mines are perfect. The only suggestion I have, if at all possible, like other idle games would be to have the goblins move through the mine by themselves when you are not in the actual game. I know they move to the stone directly next to them, but would it be at all possible to have them advance up the mine by themselves. Whenever I come back into the game after being a way a bit I see them standing around having a smoke break. I even if you have to make the mines a tad bit bigger to make up for the movement, it would be greatly appreciated. Amazing game otherwise, and please keep up all the wonderful updates.

Fantastic Updates and Changes

I’ve never left a review for a game, certainly not one that I downloaded just to keep my bored little mind occupied for a few minutes every hour. But I’ve never ran into a mobile game that updates and changes the game in exactly the way the players want. Adding mini events, shadow progress bars before you upgrade a mine, dynamites, tapping through rewards quicker, letting mine upgrades affect the next collection. Minor changes like these make the game more fluid and keep the player base engaged. It’s so painful to play a game that gets a major update with new content but refuses to acknowledge little bugs in the content that already exists, or refuse to add features that make maneuvering through the app easier. This game gets both new content added AND gameplay optimization features, it’s fantastic!

Fun game BUT…

This game is fun, mindless, and an interesting way to waste time. And I’d almost be willing to give it 5 stars and recommend it for kids but some of the ads are SUPER INAPPROPRIATE for younger audiences. Right now an ad for Comics Bob is playing and it implies that you can either reveal a nude woman, or have Bob get in the shower with her and have sex. Another ad for a “delete one part” type game shows you have the ability to erase characters clothing or even see through a wall to see if anyone inside is being intimate. This is totally inappropriate advertising in a game that should be kid friendly. If they could push family friendly ads, instead of these more “adult oriented “ ones, then I would say this game is awesome. You can play without buying anything and you don’t even really need to watch any ads if you don’t want to, but for me it’s sometimes worth it.

Nice concept

Biggest issue is the game ends up being an uphill battle after a couple dozen mines! There is never enough elixer, so when 50 gems is worth the same amount of elixer at level 1 and level 60, that’s a huge mistake. I need hundreds of thousands of elixers and there is no other way to get it. Even when half a mine is elixer rocks, I still can’t upgrade anything. The events would be fun if you could get all the keys without having to micromanage 24/7, and without spending you’ll never get the awesome mythical key. If an event has multiple mines, each mine actually gets harder based one f2p and spending money/gems!.! I saved gems for months and can always just barely get all the regular keys without spending because I have help. But when I decided to spend over a thousand of my hard earned gems on my favorite time of year, halloween :D, I could not even get all the regular keys! That’s just too shady for us, so the community and I can’t support it. But feel free to try the first couple dozen mines before the uphill battle, it is fun for a little bit before you realize how the games built.

Great time waster

I noticed lots of reviews saying it’s a pointless game, and they’re right, but it’s still amusing and well-designed. My favorite part is that YOU DON’T HAVE TO WATCH ADS OR FEEL LIKE YOU NEED TO SPEND MONEY!! That’s so refreshing these days. Sure, if you want to progress faster, watch some ads, but since the game is basically pointless anyway, I only watch them during the events. And hey, if you want to give the devs a few bucks every now and again during the events, you can place higher and get more rewards, which will help you go faster in the day-to-day levels. But again, there’s really no need to rush through the levels, it’s not like you win some weekend getaway for two to the Bahamas or something.It’s just mindless entertainment when you don’t really want to think too much. And, it’s funny watching the goblins do their thing. Totally mindless fun when you’ve had an exhausting day, are tired of watching equally-mindless TV, but still want to be a couch potato for a bit.
