Wonderful Imperfect App; Please play and join the cause!

I’ve been using Givling for about a year now, so much less than some people, but long enough to start to get a feel for it. No, it’s not perfect, but it is constantly evolving and I think it’s mostly getting better with every new development. So far they have funded almost $5 million in student loan debt, and more every day! Lately they seem to be moving more towards a model of giving money away at random, but there is still plenty of gamification for you to get excited about and improve your chances. If you’re a person who has a go-to time waster app on their phone, give this one a try! They give away a lot of money to trivia winners! And if you do have student loan debt, get the app, play it and join the Givling Facebook group. It’s a really vibrant community of users supporting each other, sharing successes, venting daily frustrations etc. You see very quickly that you’re not alone in this struggle.

Force For Good!!!

I have read the reviews and I’m glad to see more positive then negative reviews! I have been apart of the Givling Community for a year or so. I have watched us grow and come together for a common cause. Although, we all might not agree with all the changes that the Bears (Givling) have to implement due to unforeseen issues and so forth. However, we can offer positive feed back and our patience while they work through the changes. My experience with Givling has been very positive. I encourage you to try it for yourself and don’t get caught up in the negativity. Please take the time to try and learn the rules and regulations and get involved before you decide what you think of Givling. Base it on your experience not others. I conclude this review by saying that I love this app!! I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling with Student Loan Debt or Mortgages!!

Working toward greatness

The concept is excellent- crowdfunding student loan payoffs - but is still in the early stages, even after having paid out well over $1 million to date. The current goal is payoff a $50,000 loan per day, AND we’re almost there! To get to the top, players need to accumulate Queue Points by watching 3 short ads per hour for up to 16 hours per day, playing two trivia games per day and watching the subsequent ads, participating in partner offers, buying coins for playing more trivia games or buying Givling merchandise. Each score from the trivia game is randomly paired with other players and the three person team with the highest score splits the pot once per week. The amount of points awarded for coins or different merchandise options seems to be random, and various incentives for participation are offered almost daily. There are two queues, one for those who buy coins and merchandise and one for more passive players who play the games, watch the ads and participate in partner offers. It is a crowdfunding app, and both queues require you to put something in to get to the top. The tech implementation itself has some drawbacks. When too many users are active, the app shuts down for some people, which takes away people’s ability to gain queue points needed to reach the top of the queue to get their loans funded. The technology needs to be enhanced for the targeted scalability.

Glimmer of hope

Come into the givling experience with the hope that someday its you but realizing that even if it isn’t you are providing relief for someone in a similar or worse situation than your own. The givling community is supportive and cheers each other on at every turn. It’s wonderful to see in a world where a lot of people are more concerned about what’s in it for me. I’ve been playing for a few years, since before the days of the dreaded ad wall. If you haven’t experienced that then you are lucky and any of the changes they have made are for the good of the overall goal, providing debt relief for as many people as possible. Even if you can’t afford to contribute, playing your free plays every day and watching a few ads will help get us to the loan a day goal. It is amazing what has been accomplished so far. I will continue to play no matter what the changes are because someone else will always win the ultimate dream of getting that much closer to being debt free!

What a wonderful concept

Crowdfunding student loans & mortgages is a great idea. I’ve had the app since May 2018 & it is the first thing I do every morning before I even get out of bed. It’s very simple, easy to understand. Every company goes through growing pains especially with today’s technology. The Bears always get it worked out & the app runs smoother than before. I’ve messaged Givling tons of times & have never been treated with anything other than utmost respect. They are always working to make the process easier & better for all of us. It doesn’t take much to move up in the queue either. Play the Free Play you get every day. Watch the ads & spin. That alone will move you up but you have so many other things you can do as well. All in all, Givling is a wonderful app that I wish I had found sooner. Very impressed with the Force For Good!

Trivia needs work

Hey Givling. As someone with a science background, I find the trivia questions to be woefully deficient in the genre of science, technology, engineering and geography. How about questions about botany, biology, physics, architecture, geology, weather... Please, mix it up a bit more beyond the liberal arts. The amount of questions about vague movie director and actor connections or obscure president tidbits make me crazy. Maybe throw in some current events? Otherwise, I am not holding my breath to ever win something here since I can’t spend all day on the app and my state prevents coin purchasing... but I play because the student loan system is corrupt and broken. I play when I can because my little contribution helps someone else break away. Thanks for your work Givling. This is great and the app improvements are getting better, but I am keeping one of the stars off this rating because the trivia is not a level playing field.

Glad I got out when I did

I had the giving app for a couple of years and finally deleted it last year and I could not be happier. I was in the top 200 in one queue (the one I was focusing on) and 1000 in another queue. Initially I enjoyed it and then I realized, nope this is not for me anymore. I was spending more money to be competitive and not to mention, I was playing this during my vacations or else I would drop in the queue if I missed a day or two. Some places we traveled to had no WiFi, so that’s another problem. I came to the realization that I needed to stop feeding the addiction because it took 30 minutes of my life everyday and I was giving away my hard earned money to pay for something that was likely never going to happen. I saw a couple months after I deleted it, they added more queues. That can be cool, but that means you have to add on the additional leaders in the queue you are not competing in to the number of people you have to go through before they get to you. For example, if I am #200 in the orange queue and there are four different queues, that means there are 799 people we have to go through to get to me. The more queues they add on, the higher that number will be. That is a lot of people and when you are trying to keep your position, you are forced to pay more, since you can’t really do much if you aren’t paying for anything.

A good and bad trivia game

I’ve been playing this game for 4 years now. When I signed up I was given a member number in the 160,000 range. They were supposedly going to go through and help people in the order they signed up and they did for a while. Then Givling got a little greedy and started funding people who paid for coins and did the partners offers. Because people were gaming the system they got their loans paid off and the original players who can’t afford to buy coins or pay for partner offers are getting left behind. In the beginning there was a lower limit on your loan amount and you could only get help with one loan. Now there a chance to get $50,000 covered…. Yeah, that’s not helpful to those of us that desperately needed the help since it takes a long time to fund those payoffs. It’s an ok trivia game and kind of supports a good cause (kind of), but don’t get your hopes up for getting funded anytime soon.

AMAZING APP WITH AN INCREDIBLE MISSION

I like Givling. I’ve been a supporter for a long time, took a break, and got back into it. They are constantly making changes, but always with good intentions. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but Givling upholds high standards. I appreciate that. You can invest in the cause, your time and/or money, but they have every reason to ban people who try to get in the way of their mission, ESPECIALLY if they are being inappropriate. This isn’t retail where they have to say the customer is always right no matter what. They have a mission, an AMAZING one. They have come SO FAR. Anyone trying to get in the way can leave, honestly. Be grateful. Voice your concerns and opinions, but do so in a respectful way that doesn’t show that your intentions are to give Givling a bad reputation. I’ve invested in this game, and they’ve made changes that I do and don’t like. They aren’t doing it to make people mad or make them leave. I like that they defend themselves publicly when they are bashed publicly. They have that right. There are two sides to every story, and nobody wants to only hear the side of the person that didn’t get their way and tried to bring Givling down. I know Givling is a FFG, and I will keep investing in them until and after my loan is funded. They have created something amazing, and more people need to realize that. Thank you, GIVLING! 🧡🐻 🧡🐻 🧡🐻 🧡🐻 🧡

Love being a force for good

First, I think many people misunderstand this app- or at least those who are giving negative reviews. The whole point of Givling is to crowd fund paying off student loans/mortgages. In order to be able to pay off loans, they need people who are willing to spend money to fund the queue. This happens by paying for coins to play trivia or buying merchandise. But because the mission is to help EVERYONE, Givling also allows people who cannot afford to find the queue an option to have their loans paid off to by offering queue points for interacting with adds/sponsors and using their two free trivia games each day. It does take commitment and effort to move ahead in the queue, but it should as they should be rewarding those who are contributing at a higher level- Again, they have two queues that alternate (green- where purchases are considered and orange where only participation points are counted). Not only that, but the community of Givlings are awesome and they are always rooting one another on and trying to get to the goal of paying a loan a day. I would highly recommend joining the Givling players strategy group but I love this app and being a FFG!!
