I enjoy this app, however the magazine itself....

I truly enjoy this app, however the magazine itself could use some improvements. I never had a problem with this app. I read his magazine on my iPhone. it is very convenient and very well put together. I also subscribe to 6 other different woodworking magazine apps. Therefore I can relate. Now about the magazine itself. On one hand the choice for furniture exhibition is excellent. Really inspiring and motivating. I really enjoy that part. Sometimes it makes me say "wow!!!"Some of the pieces of furniture are amazing. On the other hand there are a few issues that I find annoying. One of them is that if the magazine is showing how to make something, it never shows the whole process in detail. The magazine Needs more technical details shown and described. Sometimes It leaves me wondering how this or that specific part was made. And I mind u that I am a professional woodworker/furniture/cabinet maker from U.S. Also the magazine needs more detailed pics. One picture says a thousand words. Also nice to have a numbered pictures with conforming numbered explanation per picture on the side or something similar to that. But overall I highly recommend this magazine. I used to buy it in the local book store for double the price, u are better of subscribing it via this app since you can check it out on iPad.

Better than Fine Woodworking

FW is to power tool focused for me - there is a nice balance here with interesting articles on new designers etc.

Great magazine.

This is a great magazine for its content which is always something different than the other well known American publications. The photography is great. The only issue I see is with the app. It would be very nice to have the ability to print pages and articles. Since I read it on a iPhone it is difficult to get the details for a project and quickly reference back to the plans.

Won’t load issues or even let me select one

I’ve reloaded this app 17 times and I still can’t get to the homepage or select an issue. All I get is a grey screen. It might be great material, but I may never know.

The magazine is great!

The magazine, itself, is wonderful. I've subscribed to the print version for many years. This e-version has its problems, occasionally, in the area of loading an issue that you've never read before. I usually see the Pocketmags logo with the "downloading" message and the issue never downloads. Usually I come back to it later or use a slightly different sequence and then everything is fine. It is annoying, however, and should work better.

F&C in top 3 woodworking magazines

Great projects, great techniques and great authors put F&C up there with Fine Woodworking and Popular Woodworking! I had a print subscription for years. Now I like the ease of the digital subscription. It is much less expensive too. Sometimes downloads can be a bit twitchy; but other than that - a good app and a great woodworking magazine!

Buyer Beware!

I’ve been a long-time subscriber, and the latest update forces the user to agree to their new term and conditions policy. Fair enough if you want to purchase new content, but not accepting the terms locks the user out of all content that has been paid for. Customer support politely says sorry, but tough luck. Never before have I encountered such tactics from a magazine subscription.

Pay For EVERYTHING

I paid to buy the app........ ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT I COULD NOT READ ANYTHING without then Buying the magazine or setting up a subscription. I was very upset that had to pay for an app that was not any good with out spending even more money. Would love to have known that before I downloaded the app. I AM VERY UNHAPPY. Money Wasted for nothing 😡😡😡

One of my two go-to magazines!

I find this to be a great complement to Fine Woodworking. It offers a certain British sensibility to the projects, and it shows great respect for the traditions and methods of classical woodworking. While it emphasizes hand work a little more than I might like, it always offers me something to learn in every issue. A must read.
