I hope it never changes in its simplicity.

I work in private care and I use this app more than I could have imagined when I first downloaded it. I work nights and this app comes in handy when I leave the house at 5 AM and navigate through a pitch black garage to put my shoes on. Simple and ALWAYS there when you need light for a few seconds. I leave the switch on and turn off the app from the home button which turns off the light. When I open the app the light comes on instantly which eliminates an extra step to turn it on or off. The secret to this app is in its simplicity. It has a place in the middle of my home screen.

It's always there!

Shoulder-to-shoulder I stand alongside millions of women who are always there when their men have crawled under the sink with no thought of themselves (or of anyone else for that matter) and then screamed "Honey! Quick! I need the flashlight!" Who knows where the flashlight is? Nobody. But I know where my iPhone is...ALWAYS. And this little extremely simple app never misfires, never fails, doesn't burn out, and no batteries required. Of course, since my husband travels a lot I am often the brave one under the sink myself. I rest my case. This may be the most practical & useful app I have (except for the one that lets me pop bubble wrap without actually owning any bubble wrap).

Still the best!!!

Icon is easy to pickup in the main app screen, very intuitive and it works every time. My go to app every time i need extra light. I use it for everything from getting the key aligned to the lock on the door to finding stuff that goes under the seat at the movie theater. When I'm in a crowd of friends with iPhones my "flashlight" is always the first to light up! While every else is looking for the 100 in one app that happens to include a flash-light. This app is battery included. Everything else you got to to hunt and peck to get a simple flash light.

No complaints

Been using this app for over a year. Use it all the time. Very handy and simple app. It works quickly and reliably. I particularly like how distinctive the icon is on my home screen. Makes it very easy to quickly find and launch the app...which is nice when you are standing still in a dark room waiting for a little light before you can start moving again. Every night when I come to bed, I use this to light my way without waking the wife. Then i leave it on my night stand as a little night-light for a few minutes as I get situated. Creates a nice glow throughout the room without bothering anyone. Surprisingly one of the most used apps I have. Go figure.

The best investment I've ever made!

There we were returning from a daylong hike up to the top of Yosemite Falls and it was quickly getting dark. Time to whip out the flashlights, right? I remember earlier that day pondering what to take on the hike and flashlights just never crossed my mind. After all how long could it possibly take to hike to the top of the falls and back! I suppose the late start didn't help or stopping to walk around the village. Anyway, there we were picking our way down the trail in complete blackness with only the glow from our iPhones to light the way when it occurred to us that there might be an app appropriate for the occasion. And sure enough, we quickly downloaded our flashlight app and lit up the trail as if it were noon. We even rescued a few others who were in the same situation on the trail. Great app! Simple, useful, can't do without! I'm using it constantly. Thank you!

Let there be light!

Unless you don't know how to add, and are forced to use your phones calculator for the most simple math... I cannot think of another app that anyone would use as frequently, or with the same level of practicality and necessity. Phones and their endless capabilities have become our eyes into the world around us, but without this very simple and yet AWESOME flashlight app, and its incredibly powerful brightness and ease of use, we would SURELY lose things more often....but more importantly and at the most simplistic level, would see a lot less of the world that we strain to see but yet is directly in front of our eyes.

No ads, no accidental turn off.

Many flashlight apps have ads or too many useless options that are easy to activate with the touch screen by accident. These options often turn off the flashlight or activate a strobe feature or some other garbage. For this app, the light turns on by default when the app is opened, and on/off switch for this flashlight is right in the middle of the screen, so the edges of the touch screen can be grabbed or handled clumsily without unintended effect, and it also requires a simple but deliberate motion to toggle. That means when I am fumbling around in the dark, my light stays ON as it should. Using the flash as a light should be a built-in feature, but this app is the very next best thing, and well worth the purchase price.

BEST Flashlight App!!! Read on.....

Hands down the best light APP!! I downloaded over 1/2 dozen flashlight apps, all claiming to be the best and fastest - I didn't care about cost I just wanted an excellent light for emergency and everyday purpose. I tested them all for speed, functionality, simplicity, and ease of use. I deleted everything else except this one. Do yourself a favor and just get it. I just leave the switch in the "on" position and close the app. It's in a convenient place on my home screen. When I turn the phone on and hit the app the light comes on with no fuss or extra steps. Beautiful and simple -- it's EXACTLY what a flashlight app should be.

Not for iPad

I use to have a flashlight app with no ads that would just turn the screen full white, but it does not work on iOS 9 and just crashes. It has disappeared from the store to re-download. I tried downloading a couple of free flashlight apps put they just constantly run annoying ads. I saw this ad free one with all its five star reviews. What I failed to notice is that they were all from before Apple integrated a flashlight app into iPhones and iPods. On an iPad, although the screen is mostly white and provides some light, it is covered with flashlight body graphic and big slider button that can't be dismissed. This app should be removed from the store as both redundant for iPhones and useless for iPads as it does not provide a full white screen. Guess I will have to download the developer kit just so I can create an app that says "Screen to full white".

Blinded by the Light

One of the ten best apps of all time! I know you're thinking, 'Why would I pay for a flashlight app? I'll just use the flashlight on my keyring, in my purse, in my car, in my ______'. Basically, it's like this. Everyone, except my mom, knows where their cell is at all times. Need some BRIGHT light? Push a button and the flash from your camera lights up the entire room! Stop digging thru your glovebox, your purse, your ______, and just buy this app. Seriously, what is it, 2 dollars? Trust me, I even recommended it to my mom, but she hasn't found the App Store on her iPhone 3 yet. x-)
