Best app ever!!!

Okay, I never write reviews, but these guys need a thumbs up! I have been forever plagued by trying to send files from my phone (iPhone) to my laptop (windows). But now this simple app makes it all possible! No more emailing stuff to your phone or vice versa and no more spotty connections from mobile hotspot. This thing literally takes Apple’s uncrackable monopoly and throws it out the window!!! Did you think airdrop is only for Apple Devices? Well, think again! These guys have figured out a way to not only send files between devices of all types but HUGE ones as well!! (Sorry that the word huge can carry negative connotations....)

I love it

Thanks so much for adding VOiceover support for this app. I've loved it pretty much from the beginning, though as a totally blind person, it was slightly annoying when buttons weren't labeled. Now that is a thing of the past. One bug I've noticed though in the previous version, was that when I transferred a file to my computer, it would show the upload progress, but when the upload was done, the app would just sit there at 0 percent, and I had to close the app manually. Also, it's annoying that the stupid web address you have to enter toggles between two choices. I wish it could be the same one each time. Otherwise, great work and I'm glad to have this app and use it often.

Exceeded Expectations. Must Have!

I bought the pro version after a couple of file transfers. You can tell the developer put some extra time into the little things such as the GUI, notification of IP changes and more. Bottom line, it just works and I love the fact that it stays updated. I get full speed lightning transfers over wi-if (your wi-if needs to be setup correctly, use 5 GHz). It saves so much time, best part no learning curve. I have been using this for about a month now before writing this. It works every time. Thank you dev for your attention to details. Even if you only use it a couple times, it’s worth way more then what dev is asking. Support the devs work! 5/5

Almost perfect, but…

The app is almost perfect, it only has 3 points that bother: 1) can not share the file/photo/video with the app, I have to access it from inside the app. This is very annoying and laborious because I have to allow access to all my photos and videos, or going in photos settings and selecting what I allow the Transfer to access, and only then select it from inside the app. If could share directly with the Transfer app from Photos app, or Camera app, my photos would be protected and could share with the Transfer only what I want specifically simply and easily. 2) There is no way to name the file/photo/video that I am sending. 3) On web browser, is not possible to choose which photos/videos/files to download. I have to download all that is shared and only then select those that I want specifically.Despite this, I loved the dark theme and the simplicity of the app ❤️

You ought to charge for this...

This is the smartest App that I have ever found. I have limited internet at home and no desire to pay for a Hot Spot device just to keep my laptop connected. I have struggled for years with data plans and work arounds. I was never able to easily connect and file share between my iPad Air and my MacBook Pro....Until I discovered this App at 3 am, a couple of weeks ago. It was one of three apps that I tried that night. It could not be easier, ... this App developer has a thorough understanding of the respective Operating Systems on the devices and gets user friendly interface nuances..it wildly exceeded my expectations. I had to set up an pseudo internal WIFI network by just plugging in a router that is not even connected to the internet, then I connected my iPad Air and my laptop to the wireless network, I think I set a static IP to both devices to make sure they all stayed in the same network...now they are all connected to the internet without extra data fees.I am working on a large project at home that is internet dependent, without this App it would have been possible. I HIGHLY recommend this app, try no others... this is the one App needed for seamless file sharing between mobile devices.

Works but Problems with App Storage Size and Clunky UI

It does work, and I had better luck with it transferring a large video file than with the Documents app on the App Store, but this app UI here is clunky. You can’t check file names at all as far as I can see, and it took me too long to figure out how to play a video file inside the app to make sure that I was choosing the right video. But also the worse potential problem is that this app’s Documents & Data storage seems to scale up, at least up to the largest file you do, or maybe total, but will not go down again no matter if you think you’ve deleted all your files from inside the app. Admittedly I did use Import, which maybe I didn’t need to, but afterwards I then had the app’s Documents & Data storage taking up an additional 15GB even with turning off its hosting and deleting every file I did from inside the app, and completely closing and restarting my iPad. The app’s storage was still taking 15GB. So unfortunately, I do recommend uninstalling it after you’re done with your transfer job.And remember to also check your “Recently Deleted” files in both “Files” (file explorer), Photos, and whatever app you’re doing this stuff with if it lets you, because it’s actually a Recycle Bin of stuff that doesn’t actually delete unless you tell it to delete again. But apparently we’re not able to shrink this app’s storage without reinstalling it.

EXCELLENT - recommend using Chrome instead of Edge for large files

This app is great and easy to use - it worked very well for uploading and super fast for large video file out of my iPad Pro 2018 to my PC. However I temporarily had a problem (now solved) because could not upload 5GB file from PC to iPad (smaller files worked) because it was making the web browser (Edge from MS on Windows 10) reload the app WITHOUT UPLOADING to the top upload/reload buttons. After initially posting a 3 star review I decided to try again the upload but this time with the lighter Chrome browser and it worked perfectly.Kudos to the developer for the app simplicity. I am going to test later on the week using wired Ethernet over a usb-c against the Ethernet on my laptop because ad-hoc WiFi is no longer as supported in windows 10. I assume this app should just work fine over the wire as it is based on higher level stack standard - that will make it inmune to polluted WiFi environments in hotels and trade shows

Even better than last year

2nd time using app. First time loaded pics from iPad to computer. Pics transferred with no problem. However going back I lost the pics and I contacted developer Support and he indicated that pics would not be lost or deleted and could check again with search files. Was able to find the files and was good to go. Second time loading iPhone pics to computer on WiFi as I needed the back up in order to have the battery replaced. Now found new help files which explain the procedure very well and was able to download all my files as required. Do not remember that zip file was used on first Upload but this worked well and provides another backup. Recommend to download files perhaps at 2000 or less at a time because loading a big block of files will come over but will take a long time. Then you can verify the files came over properly. Do not have a problem with ads as it’s a free app better than iCloud and iTunes which have limitations and charges for large files. Kudos to the developer for the help files and great app.

Works but could be better

This app works to package photos, videos and available files into a compressed file for transfer to another device. Ads typically pop up after you have selected items for transfer and closing the ad can result in all selections being cleared. If your phone has little available memory the app may not have enough space to build the compressed file for transfer. Even if memory is available there appears to be a practical limitation to how many photos can be transferred at a time. I was unable to transfer the 10,000 photos on my phone in one pass. Transfers in groups of 1,000 photos worked. When transferring from iPhone to PC, the file date of files will become the date the compressed file is created. This app does not have an option for transferring contacts or texts.

Really Opens Up Your Phone!!

I have an iPhone with a wireless charger because I'm an Electrical Engineer that HATES "Cords". This is the 21st century and we're STILL tethered to tangled up, constantly breaking, cords??? I bought "Transfer" last year, and now I don't even know where my cords are. Not only can you send your Pics/Videos/Music/Files/etc from your phone to your computer(s), but you can send Pics/Videos/Music/Files/etc from your computer(s) to your phone, and then send those items to family members and friends via iMessage! This opens up many of an iPhone's functions that the iPhone *WILL* do, But that Apple's OS blocks users from doing, unless you Jail Break your phone. "Transfer" is lightning fast! Now I can send my GoPro videos and my music from my computer to my iPhone, then send them to my wife via iMessage, in (literally) less time than it took to tell about it.Awesome App!!!

Description

File Transfer App allows you to share files between your iPhone, iPad, Computer and any other nearby device. The app provides you the two ways of sharing files between your iPhone and another device: (1) Using a Web Page: Share files between your iPhone and any other device with any OS using the app's webpage and any web browser. In this case the webpage is hosted by the app's embedded server on your iPhone within your WiFi network.

The webpage can be accessed only inside your WiFi network. This way you can download the selected files as a ZIP archive directly from your iPhone to PC or smartphone. And you can also upload files from computer or smartphone to iPhone. And you don't even need to install anything on another device as long as there is a web browser and both of your devices are connected to the same WiFi network. (2) You can also share files between iOS devices without the use of a web browser. • You can quickly transfer any number of files (including photos and videos) of any size for free. • Transfer pictures & videos in original sizes. • Play Music: Received audio files can be played in the app's embedded music player. You can also create playlists of songs or audiobooks. • Preserve photos' metadata in all transfer directions (EXIF, location, etc). • In the app's settings you can select option to convert HEIC files to JPG before send them to computer. • Your files are transferred directly from device to device within your local WiFi network. They are never stored on any intermediary server. • The app is extremely easy to use. • The app supports Dark Mode. • You can also buy the Ad-Free version.
