Exif Wizard

This is a great utility! It is useful for keeping mileage logs. I snap photos of my odometer and when I fill out my logbooks I can just open up this app and it shows me both time and location of each shot taken. It would be nice if there was an arrow in the main screen to allow you to go onto the next picture without having to go back to the camera roll each time, but otherwise this is an excellent app.Update: The creators of this app are very responsive and replied immediately to my feedback. The feature that I thought was lacking for this program is available on the Pro version and is well worth the cost of the app. Great App!!!

Too many Bugs

When it works, it's great but over half the time it won't even load the photos in my folders. Just shows black squares. Plus the info for older photos is when you added them to your device, NOT the exit if the original photo. very misleading! Not ready for prime time at all. Save your money on the pro version. It's worse than the free version!

Works exactly as advertised

It does exactly what it says it will do. I can now see all the EXIF data while the image is on my iPhone and don't have to wait to download it to my computer to see that data. One hint, when it asks you if it can use your location you must say "Yes" or it can't access your photo libraries. EXIF Wizard (so I've been told by the president of the company) doesn't receive any data about your location. This language is Apple's way of alerting you that the app can look at your data. Rather than saying it straight out that way they ask location permission.

Downloaded a couple years ago, still works great. Simple and easy! No ads.

Very nice

Thank you for being unobtrusive, transparent, fully functional, and definitely the type of app that everyone should have :-) this app does exactly what it is supposed to do and nothing more. It is a very well-laid-out and highly functional piece of software. It does not bug you with ads, it does not bug you to upgrade; it simply performs the functions that it is advertised to do. If exif information is encoded in the photograph, it will read it… That Matthew is a very helpful :-) thank you

Extremely helpful

I noticed the new version had no ratings and I thought id start the trend to demonstrate the helpfulness of this app. For me, I simply needed the exact times, dates, and locations which I took a series of photographs, and this worked beautifully to tell me, with more accuracy than anything built into the phone. I'm not so concerned with f stop, etc as on an iPhone that info is pretty useless and for my slr shots I can access exif info through Photoshop. But for a quick and easy way to see when and where you snapped a shot down to the second, this is perfect!

Great information, no ads

Worked great on an iPhone 6s on iOS 10.2. No ads were a plus. Purchase required to edit metadata but for just viewing it's great.

Every Mobil Device should have this App

This app is quick and clean in what it does. You want to know the exact time and location of a photo? You can easily see that info. Everyone should know how much information is available in the meta data of a photo. This app allows me to share the info or to remove geo location for a photo of my family that I want to post on a social media site. This is a very useful tool.

New iOS 10 version not working

Stopped working after updating phone to iOS 10. Still doesn't work after App update either.

Description

Exif Wizard is an Exif app for your mobile device that translates the most commonly used tags into plain English. It includes e-mail support, and an option to automatically scroll thumbnail preview images to the end of your camera roll or album! We've tested Exif Wizard on photos from iOS devices, as well as many professional and consumer digital cameras to make sure available data will be presented properly.

Also included is a geotag map display that, unlike the photo-viewing app shipped with your iPhone, lets you focus on the location of one photo at a time. There's also a button which allows you to open your iPhone's built-in Maps app to obtain directions to a photo's location. ***iOS 8 USERS - Apple's built-in "Camera" App appears to be flipping the "ImgDirection" tag 180 degrees from the direction the camera is pointing. Exif Wizard flips it back for display purposes, but does not alter the original photo. ***iCloud Photo Library Users - If iCloud-stored images appear in Apple's built-in "Photos" app, but not in Exif Wizard, and you selected "Download and Keep Originals" in iCloud Photos Settings, then opening the "missing" photo in the "Photos" app may make it accessible to Exif Wizard. ***If you edit a photo in Apple's built-in Photos app, it may become inaccessible to Exif Wizard. Reverting to original should restore access. *** If Exif Wizard is not displaying GPS/mapping information for photos you have taken with your iPhone, it may be because you did not enable geotagging when you first used the built-in Camera app. To grant permission now, from your home screen, touch Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services. Make sure the "Location Services" switch at the top of the screen is ON, then scroll down and turn on the switch next to "Camera." Keep in mind that if you enable geotagging, people you transmit your photos to may be able to determine the locations where those photos were taken using any number of mobile and desktop Exif applications. Notes: Some image editing programs, as well as some photo upload/storage services remove Exif data from photos. E-mailed and Web photos can be stored on your Camera Roll with Exif information by touching and holding the photo, and then touching "Save Image" on the action sheet which will appear.
