Utterly Infuriating

From the very first moment I logged into this app until now it has been nothing but a headache. It’s cumbersome and already over-patched. Apparently designed with little knowledge of the iOS format. It’s like I had to learn a whole new operating system to do simple daily tasks. It has great difficulty pairing with the ELD device. It consistently logs me out with no warning or reason. Every day using this system I feel like I’ve technologically traveled back in time 20 years or so. The constant frustration makes me long for the days of dial-up internet and the telegraph. “Dang!” you might think, “why are you writing such a scathing review?” It’s because this app is my ticket to legal record-keeping which can personally affect my career and quality of life, and it can really let me down. I have no confidence in the JJ Keller Mobile app to support me in that regard.

I use the tablet in both my trucks and things have been good . When there are any problems tech support or encompass customer service are very helpful and take their time to fix the problem or walk you through till all is resolved and satisfied. Yes the system is a bit hard to figure out , but they offer free Web n r. N are available. You can learn it.

So so system

I’m not impressed with this system. It has logged me as driving several times while I was in the bunk asleep which has made me stay longer than I should have on a ten hour break. And service people are nice but no help in this matter they tell you to make a notation and go to paper logs and cannot or will not just fix the glitch by changing the log back to sleeper or off duty. I was happier with the Bluetree system.

Love the jjkeller system. Been on for 1 1/2 years works great. Very rarely have any problems. Out of the 1 1/2 years been on it only went down one day, Keller had the problem fixed next day. Used paper for the one day but the next day when system was back up, the device in the truck had everything logged and stored. Just logged in and the previous days logs were ready. Great system would recommend to anyone.

Poor Updates and Support

I run Apple products. From day 1 the app showed malfunctions and errors. I called multiple times and was told not to worry about them because they won’t cause any legal issues with logging my hours. With feedback given from the multiple issues you’d think they would resolve them in subsequent updates. Today I still have malfunctions and errors listed even after the newest update. This update was also supposed allow the app to run in ‘dark’ mode but it still doesn’t work. I spent 40 minutes on hold with the previous update not working in dark mode, I’m not going to do it again. J.J. Keller is supposed to be one of the ‘best’ when it comes to regulation compliance but this app leaves lots of room to improve.

Junk

Biggest piece of crap I’ve ever had to install on my phone. If it wasn’t mandatory to have it I would have deleted it months ago. Never works. Takes way to long to connect to the ELD if it even recognizes it in the first place. I like to to have google maps open while I’m driving but as you stop at a stop sign and start moving again it closes out whatever app you have on screen and takes over so you have to constantly switch back and forth. Extremely irritating and distracting. Will randomly shut down and log you out while on duty and likes to freeze. Won’t submit logs. Updates only seem to make it worse. Is it to much to ask to get a team of people working on this that actually know what they are doing?

Crashes

The app itself is well designed and easily navigated. It’s fairly simple to use and straightforward. However, after two days of continuous use without any problems the application crashes. The app will load and as you are prompted to sign in, the usual notification will appear before shutting down. Once it starts crashing it will continue to do it every time I attempt to open the app until I am forced delete and reinstall. This causes a problem because any logs not submitted are deleted and lost for good. I only have this issue running the app with iOS on my iPhone 12. I first downloaded the app using Google Play on the Galaxy Note 9 and had no problems whatsoever for a year. It was not until I switched to the iPhone 12 that I started hating the Encompass app.

How about making it so you can do an inspection on a truck or trailer that is not in the system?

I would give it 5 stars if you could do an inspection on a truck or trailer that isn’t preloaded into the system. I know it is legal because we do it for another company I work for with another system. I am trying to get them to use this, but, they may pull other companies trailers, so this won’t work for them. At least not now.

It’s getting better but still needs some tweaking.

I will say this app has come along way in a couple months time. I was ready to throw my phone out the window at first. One request: Please have the app remember your last status when logging in and logging out. If I’m on duty while logged in, the app should remember that when I hit the Log Out button. As the driver, only I should change the status when logging in and out.

THE WORST E LOG EVER

The whole system on this app is JUNK! Not one thing is user friendly about it. Nothing is at the push of one button to change duty status as most E Logs are. You have to go through multiple menus to change a duty status. Forget about using Personal Conveyance or Yard Moves. It still counts those times as driving. You pull up from the fuel isle it throws you into driving. It’s very sensitive to the slightest movement. Then the menu is slow to navigate through to change your duty status. Also you go off duty at the end of the day and when you wake up after your 10 hrs, you find out that it has put you back on duty the whole time you were on break. This app is a CLUNKER and deserves no stars.
