As the title says, great for organization. Keeps things nice and tidy for encounters. My favorite part, by far, is the built-in monster manual. On the other hand, if I were to make changes there's a decent list I would make (granted I know practically nothing about creating apps):-It lacks a simple (if any) way to edit an adventure name that is already created.-I would add a "Dungeon" category nested between the Adventure category (which I would rename "Campaign") and the Encounter category.-When typing a note into the note section, the text appears in the middle of the box, and there isn't any word wrap.-The player section lacks many inputs for character information, such as appearance, deity, and inventory. To name a few.-Also, I may be doing it wrong, but when I put a URL into the character portrait slot, nothing changed.-A loot/treasure/item creator would be nice.-And the encounter screen could use a revamp to its overall layout.-Not certain if there's any others, but that's all I can think of now.Otherwise, it's a great app. Works fantastically for organization, and condenses all kinds of paperwork. I'm certainly not upset with the money spent on it, and would be more than willing to pay another fee for these changes.
This app is worthless. I was hoping for something more like DnD Sheets but this is total garbage! It doesn't even have all the 5E classes or races. Waste of money DO NOT BUY.
Considering the competition, the DM minion is fairly good at everything needed for running a game at your table. The learning curve can be steep (more so with the 4e version) but a DM should be able to get the hang of it through one combat run. It doesn't have many options of use outside of combat that can't be handled with a notepad, but those areas don't require as much tracking. If you have a spare computer or in my case a wall-mounted tv in my game room, you can display the initiative and conditions on the screen for your players. That's a massive benefit as anyone can look up and know who's next and who's affected by what. For the cost of a coffee, this app will provide you with increased accuracy and speed up general combat. On an iPad it has completely replaced all pen and paper at my chair.
I can speak for the Dropbox issues. I don't use drop box so I can't rate lower for a feature I don't use. I've been using the app to run Hoard of the Dragon Queen for five players and it keeps combat going very nicely. After putting the data in for some of the custom creatures and NPCs I have everything I need right there. Current hit points, conditions, armor class, all the available attacks monsters or players have, the damage a weapon can do along with the pcs modifiers added in. It's great.
Absolutely amazing new update! Responsive developer who listens to feedback! This is going to be what I run my first campaign on, and I've checked out all initiative trackers and questing tools on the App Store, yes is the best. Thank you developers!
The app works very well. It does everything we'll with few complaints. There is a minor learning curve but the developer site has a PDF I recommend reading. However the app is too automated for most GM/DMs. I would like to see an option to disable app rolling actions but it reminding the DM to role. The biggest issue I have is I cannot set monsters initiative. That is always rolled and there is no way to change it.
This is a great product for a tech friendly DM, I love the Dropbox integration. I can create the adventure on my laptop, then export it to Dropbox and run it from my iPad.
... Which robs the app of its usefulness. Hopefully fixed soon.
Dropbox download/upload doesn't work. Buyers beware.
Dungeon Masters are you sick and tired of fumbling around with excel, scratch paper, or some other cumbersome system to track all of those D&D 5th Edition attributes? Track your PC and monster initiatives, hit points, conditions, and actions using a single application. Roll dice for monster powers so you don't have to hunt for the right dice!
