A vanguard of the old App Store

Doodle Jump as an app, as well as Lima Sky as a company, both amaze me because of the sheer honesty of the game. Comparing Doodle Jump to any other game and its subsequent cash-grabs, particularly Cut the Rope and the Angry Birds library, there is a stunning difference in the methods employed by the devs. There are zero ads between deaths, no shoehorned IAPs (beyond cosmetic changes and slightly stronger abilities in the seasonal events), and the game still receives updates almost 10 years after its initial release. Keep being awesome, Lima Sky.

No options menu?

I’m fine with the ads, I’m also fine with paying to turn them off. The thing I’m NOT fine with is not having an option to turn off the sounds or change calibration like we had in the first Doodle Jump game. I frequently use my AirPods to listen to music while playing... and I cannot do this with all these sound effects on the game with no option to turn them off. That’s a glaring gap that needs to be fixed.

Missions Glitch

I love this game, but I’ve been having issues with missions. I’m pretty sure I complete them, but the game resets my progress and doesn’t count points toward them properly. I often get stuck on missions because it doesn’t properly track my progress. Without missions, the game isn’t as fun. I need more motivation than just beating my high score. If there are missions instead of levels, then they should at least work. I’ve reached out to support but haven’t received a response. I hope someone will address this.

Still the best!

10yrs + and still going strong! Don't play as much as I used to but I will always keep this on every device that it is made for! Actually wish they would make one for the Apple TV and Nvidia Shield TV! Ive got the racing version for ATV but it's just not the same. My favorite quick pick up and play style game like this is Crossy Road which is on ALL the mobile and TV devices that I have. I've had it also for as long as it's been out and it continues to get updates. Lima Sky, I think ur missing out on an opportunity by not releasing a TV version for both platforms. Crossy Road is even on my 2nd gen Fire TV, just sayin!

Doodle Jump (one and two)

I’ve been playing Doodle Jump since it’s release, well over a decade ago. It is still, easily my favorite game. Can sit and play a few rounds or sit there all day and play it. Lots of stuff to earn, beat your personal highscore or try to get on the leaderboards!I was hesitant to buy the second one, I thought it’d be riddled with in-app purchases. The only thing for that game is $2.99 for no ads. (WORTH IT, BY THE WAY)!I can’t recommend downloading both enough, for the price of $3.99 you get both games, no ads, and endless hours of fun. Thank you to the developers, who continue to keep this game going. I hope I can play it for many more years to come. Seriously, thank you!

Thanks

I love the creativity and gameplay and think it is excellent for mobile device gaming. I purchased it a decade or so ago and appreciate that I am still able to play it after all of these years. I’ve paid much more for so many apps over the years that were unapologetically not supported and disappeared from the App Store rather quickly. Also many where I was forced to either buy a different version of the app or be left with nothing. I think it speaks very highly of this team that they have found a way to keep DoodleJump functional for those of us that purchased it a decade ago. Thanks and keep up the great work. 👍🏼

I downloaded this back in 2010

I wanted to start my review off by saying I downloaded this game back in 2010 and it’s not a game I play regularly anymore but it’s still solid for what you get from it. Not much has changed since I downloaded it back then. This was one of my first apps and I’ve played over 100s of mobile games. The concept is simple and it’s a chill way to pass time, but nothing I’d spend a daunting amount of time on everyday.

Nice game but please add choice of selecting difficulty

I like the game. It’s being my favorite mini game on my iPad. However I want to point out the boringness and lack of progress of this game. That is, every time you fall, you start from scratch again. You need to go another 3 minutes of boring easy difficulty level to get to where you fell last time. So the player can’t get proper practice or increase the difficulty of the game. This render the game very boring, and waste of time. It’s like you need to do a lot integer addition before you can practice multiply which is what you actually wanted. I would give 5 Star if they add the functionality of selecting difficulty.

You have to tilt your phone to move. Why?!?!

It’s just annoying and makes no sense. You could have easily made a slider to move. At least add an option to turn it off. And also my phone is no Wii motion plus. The tilting is super inaccurate, and can also be super annoying when I’m trying to relax in bed and play this. Great game, but this one mechanic drops two stars.

Just an idea

Dear makers of doodle jump, so in the retro world, people can collect cherries. I was thinking there could be a store for that game. So doodle could also be like Pac-Man, or Maybe the frog from frogger. Or one could be an outfit where when you tap, doodle looks like a monster and when he bumps into monsters, he doesn’t fall.
