Love this game!

Been playing this game for several years. Take month long breaks but always return for more. The game has a lot of depth and complexity. Love the well drawn tiles. Gritty post apocalyptic survival role playing. The devs really care about their product, constantly working on the game, taking player feedback, frequently updating and changing gameplay for a better playing experience. The updates can occasionally be shocking as gameplay can change dramatically. The change is generally for the better and bugs are immediately addressed. Ads are unobtrusive and only benefit the player as a chance to get much needed equipment! I’ve been preparing now for the new update, 2021. The Day R Facebook page is a great way to see what the devs are up to and to connect with other players.

Modern Day Classic ( BruhMonJee )

If you’re into games like the classic WASTELAND (aka: made by original creators of FALLOUT) or even the earlier games of FALLOUT that were played on PC only, ETC, then you’re really gonna like DAY R. It’s a classic 4th Person Perspective RPG that takes place in what I believe is a Nuked Russia 🇷🇺 (almost like the Russian version of the classic WASTELAND and FALLOUT).You have a Damage, Food, Water, Sleep, Radiation, Poison, and Blood Meter on the top of the screen that you have to keep in mind because you have to eat, drink, and sleep as life basics but the game bases real life knowledge around creative science fiction to add materials that you must scavenge for in order to make recipes of food, weaponry, ETC. I’ve played hours of DAY R and I’m still constantly find myself not wanting to stop to the point that I upgraded to the PREMIUM VERSION which is this one for $2.99 +TAX and I’m still uncovering the truth on what happened along side finding my daughter and so much more that if I shared it with you, I’d spoil the experience (so I won’t).Past that, this is an absolutely amazing game. It really brings me back to the start of my gaming days when I was a kid. DAY R is extremely well made and worth the money.5 Stars ✨ - BruhMonJee (DJ on SoundCloud - Media Chillaxer on Twitter and Instagram - Serious Couch Potato on XBOX and Mobile - Reviews on iTunes/App Store, and XBOX

Turned into a tedious money grab

Loved the game about a year ago. But now they have turned it into a repetitive, boring, and pointless gameplay loop. I get that it’s an apocalypse, but if my premium weapons break after firing 10 times on top of a single bullet costing more then the lives of 5 bandits, then what’s the point? Enemies come in droves of about 6-12 and will have three times more health then you, endless ammo, endless equipment durability, and abilities that can make you take over 300% more damage. All while you sit there with a your cardboard armor and paper tools. Looting and searching has become significantly worse as well. Tools break after a few tasks. Lights require batteries that can never be found anymore. Your vehicle requires enough gas that doing 5 missions is just enough to cover your gas costs, so nothing is left after all that waste of ammo, materials, and now ruined equipment. However, what has increased since then is the insane amount of ads. About 15 every 30 minutes? That’s insane for a paid product. On top of that, they force “deals” down your throat on their own in game garbage. These is absolutely no reason to buy anything in game with real money. Whatever you buy will be broken and to expensive to repair within 30 minutes. Disgusting waste of a game and time ever since they “updated” this game.

Few complaints

This game is amazing, the combat system is challenging and keeps you on your toes, the story is clever, text based quests amazing, great soundtrack, and a unique way of searching in a 2d style, which not many games pull off to this day. I have a few problems with the game though. Since you need a wolf to hunt certain targets, why not add a perk for that called Tracker or something? Grinding is such a big part of the game, with hunting being such a big part of that grinding, which is another gripe of mine, since when I beat Searching for the truth, I was only level 42. Also, we should be able to make the forge and bellows sooner because wire is such a big part in recipes and repairs, its ridiculous. Also, the ants around Leningrad should be like the bees in Ufa. There should be an ant mound you could raid for chitin or lymph seeing how much lymph is needed in medicine recipes. In addition there should be a way to instantly respawn enemies in the wastes or forests, since hunting and grinding and fighting are such major parts of this game. All in all though, Day r nailed it. The survival is hard, Ai smart, and rewarding when you pull it off. Keep up the great work devs, and, looking at the update notes, since you added new traders, Tver might actually serve some purpose besides a bunkhouse.

Before an now

Before I found this game, I was looking for something almost like it, I played other survival games but none was like this, I played for months, I died, had to back track, had to go to places for one thing, just double back to to the same city, all of which made the game even more fun.. but then the updates, even with the money I spent to play better or get a little over powered, after a couple of updates, that wasn’t the case anymore all of everything I had was gone, even my profiles I saved to iCloud was gone everything was just gone, an had to started all over again an again, because through the updates the app started to crash/timeout.. (even as a premium player things was breaking up not working as it suppose too)Now I mean it’s still good, could use some of the old aspects in play style an what you can an can not do, something’s has been nerfed in my own opinion or just taking out completely which upsets me because it gives you something to work up to, overall it’s a good app game but just could some adjustments...also again with all the money spent an in game/real time hours it still upsets me a lot that I have to start all over again an no iCloud profiles either

Wow

I played Day R through before the update and throughly enjoyed the experience. What a challenge but that is the very thing that made it fun. The update increases the difficulty in regard to no player activated saves. It saves continually which means if you made a bad decision, well, you gotta dig yourself out. To offset this challenge we’re given the perk system which is a great improvement and allows flexibility to chose perks that augment your preferred play style. The update contains better art, great stories, riveting life and death decisions that need to be made. Every step you take matters - every decision can be life or death because you can’t just save your way out of it. Some have criticized the update because of this but I found that it brought a level of gameplay intensity that I don’t believe I have EVER experienced in any game. In this way and others, Day R is daring and I applaud the developers for their courage to hold to their vision. My only negative comments are in regard to the english translation. I always understood what is being said but the translation can be wonky at times. Developers, if you’re listening, great job here and I would love to see another game developed in the future around the same game systems used in Day R.

Just deleted this game!!!

Played the free version; loved it. Bought the Premium version; loved it even more. For a couple of weeks now, I’ve lost myself in this game. So much so, that I actually deleted it today. Incredibly addictive game progression and realistic survival mechanics make for a wonderful experience that I highly recommend. Every town and village just may hold that last piece you’ve been searching for. Each building or ruin could perhaps be your key to survival...or death. With the enemies in the game, a level of tension is added that makes your every step potentially life threatening. The radiation. The medicine. The sickness. The health. Ups and downs. Victories and defeats. This game serves up one incredible ride. Be warned, though...you’re definitely going to lose sleep over this one. Hardest game to put down, that I’ve played in a very long time.

Why are cars so difficult to get

I understand the concept of not getting too overpowered too easily but in all seriousness vehicles should not be sooo incredibly difficult to get, I mean it’s nice and all that their even in the game in the first place but I usually die before I can even use them. I just hope that the leveling system can be fixed or the motorcycle can be put into a different level or something because the bicycle isn’t working because if you get attacked by something you can’t use the bike anymore so your just sitting there not knowing what to do. So I hope it could potentially be fixed or rearranged to be a little more fairish and I doubt that the world of USSR only had like 5-7 vehicle, it would be nice to see more come into this game. I love the game, i love the creators, I’ve never seen a survival game quite like this. Keep up the good work and keep making the game fun.

Gets harder with nearly every update

I have been playing this game for years. It is by far the best survival game/simulator out there. Unfortunately, the developers seem to be trying to make the game harder with each new release. I don’t mind a challenge, but give us more to do and work with not less. Every new release takes some game item or skill away rather than adding new abilities. Does anybody remember sewing machines? We can make alcohol but not rope. We can build a forge but we cannot evaporate sea water for salt. The developers want to control your success by controlling certain commodities. Every new release is a take away. So what happened to tool benches and apple trees that did not have to be replanted with each harvest, several kinds of armor, the ability to save a game in progress, using more than one pet at a time, etc. If you must take away something, and I wish you would stop, give us something new to work on. Replacing known skills or equipment with random “perks” or barter systems is not fun. You have a great system here. Let players have fun who have put a lot of time into developing their skills and bases.

Overall Solid Game

This game is great. Can play it for hours without realizing it. If you enjoy survival and some role playing, lots of fun. New update for iPhone X optimization seems very ineffectively put together. Parts of text not visible, or buttons become hard to push. Progression of skills at later levels become outrageously harder than earlier. Even when purchasing premium version, it seems as though developers deliberately make paying to further your skills and abilities more tempting. However there are ways to level yourself up if you don’t mind the occasional mindless grinding. Lots of map to explore. Short and sweet quests to fulfill and even some longer ones. Satisfying when progressing quickly. Easier to put down once you realize you’re hours away from being able to progress to a new level without a micro transaction. Overall cool game though.
