The best converter ever

There can't be a better converter than this! I'm a person who converts units day in and out because of my job. I have purchased at least dozen unit converters but wasn't happy with their boring and confusing functionality. Plus it takes so much time to learn how to use. After buying Convoto I have stopped looking for other similar apps. It's just the best. Just like the app their support team is fantastic too. They are always available to help you. I seriously recommend this app to everyone out there looking for a converter at a very reasonable price.

Not great ~ especially at the price

Poor interface, no options to turn off the day-glo colors, searching through a giant list of units is a pain to find what you want.Then there’s the “upgrade” that recently happened that basically deleted the version I paid for and “updated” it to a version that requires an annual subscription to do any useful conversions. That’s called and upgrade, and moral developers offer you something worth upgrading for while warning that it is a paid upgrade and allowing you to keep using the old software until it becomes too outdated etc.For me, since this app rarely got used since I found a better alternative it’s easy to just delete it.

Used to be usable, now not worth the storage.

Updated 8 Nov 2020. Updating my review. All features I liked are now unavailable with the most recent update. You can now do pretty much nothing unless you subscribe monthly/yearly. Deleting the app from my iPhone. I rarely review apps, but this one deserves a review. While you can probably do most of the conversions with a calculator, remembering all the proper constant involved is not easy. Imperial to metric conversions at your fingertips. It even includes a clothing size conversion, for the ladies in my life that are doing a lot of shopping online, and USA sizes are not the same as European sizes are not the same as Far East sizes. Subscription... seriously?!

I already paid a one time price for this app a couple of years ago, and now they want more money for the exact same features that I already paid for? Seriously? I hate to be a Karen, but when an app is converted to a subscription, those who paid the one time price before the monetization model change are normally grandfathered in to not having to pay for the subscription and still have access to all of the content that they originally paid for. This has happened on literally every paid app that I bought long ago that went to subscription, except for this one. Tried to restore my purchase and everything... such a disappointment.I work in app development and understand the need for in-app purchases and subscription services to cover continued support & development costs, but it is a VERY bad move to force the early adopting one time fee payers into a new subscription model to access the same content that they had already paid for to be permanently unlocked. This is a very bad, unethical business practice.Shame on me I guess for having automatic updates turned on. Guess I should turn automatic updates off and read every single app update before installing from now on. But shame on the developer for not grandfathering in those who previously paid to permanently unlock the content. I’ll just go back to Googling conversions for free since having to open my mobile browser is just a minor inconvenience. Bye 👋

Great app until they turned it into a subscription service

This app used to be great until they recently decided to turn it into a monthly or annual subscription service. I purchased (!) the app years ago and loved using it on a daily basis. It’s a shame they don’t care about the users who spent money on this app and tell them they need to subscribe now... Their customer service team lacks any sort of empathy and doesn’t seem to understand my concern. Going forward I’ll rather use Google or any competitor that straight up has a free app or app to purchase without this nonsense subscription requirement!

3 stars for now

Pretty cool having every conversion that I usually input into Google in one app ready at a single click. Theoretically a designated app for conversion should be faster than opening my browser and inputting my data in the Google search bar, however that’s not the case. Every time I attempt to do a conversion I have to delete data that pre exists within the app. By the time I hit backspace multiple times to clear the field, I could’ve just used Google and saved the space on my device. If the developer can either set the app to have every field clear or set it to clear as soon as you click on the field this app will have potential. For now I will leave it installed and see if the developer fixes this small issue. If fixed the app is a keeper, otherwise I’ll go back to Google and save my storage.

I love this app but hmm really?

I got this app and use daily and it’s really useful app it’s about 1 year ago using always and just payed for the app once and all was working without pay more. now after update it ask me for pay to have things inside of the app That was unlocked before of the last update. really I should stop updating the apps or what? That’s like an joke for users like me. Before update all the things was without paying to use different measures. Really the app it’s getting out of my phone. I’ve payed to use once 1. not item by item inside of the app to use. Really disappointed👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Sad to see a good app go down the drain

I have been using this app for years. The app makers had not done anything with this app for years until recently. For years, it’s been clunky and bug ridden, but it still had its functionally and I used the app because I could quickly find conversion factors I use frequently. Now, the app makers have decided that they care about the app and have switched to the greedy subscription based model the rest of world uses. My biggest beef is I’ve been using this app for a long time now and after reaching out their support team, they told me that I have to pay the subscription because of their “incredible features”. These features haven’t changed in years! And now, suddenly they cost $10 a year? I would at least expect them to offer some sort of deal to those have loyally used the app before their greed got the best of them (like most apps do…), but nope, not these folks. Looks like I’m going to stick with Google for easy and FREE conversions.

DON’T UPDATE TO 2.0!!!

Developer added a subscription to “Unlock Everything”, but locked units of measure that were already in the app that had been purchased. “Restore Purchases” does not work. Assuming this is just an oversight, wait until they fix it to upgrade.In the “free” version of Convoto, only the first two items in each category are available — which means nearly the entire app is locked and the available conversions are almost entirely pointless for any user. You will be able to evaluate the UI/UX, but not any conversions that might be meaningful to you. The “free” version is basically just a demo.If you have not already purchased this app, then you have to decide whether having this functionality in this app is worth $0.99/month or $9.99/year as opposed to using another app (or just asking Siri).To its credit, Convoto has a wide range of conversions, a decent UI (dark mode would be nice, though), and is the only dedicated conversion app still on my phone. I’ve been using iPhones for nearly ten years and downloaded many of these types of apps. I have deleted all of the others.

Greed Got The Better Of 'Em...

I hv been using this app with utter delight for years. Loved it but the most recent move from them left a bitter taste in my mouth!We early adopters of your app gave rave reviews and catapulted your success due to that. The very least..., grandfather us into your eco system as a gesture of "GOODWILL", don't you think. Doing what you did without warning and advise... to a subscription-based platform is your choice. I get that. That will take place for whoever that now wants to use your product from the day you decided to go that route. The early adopters (like I said wd hv bn grandfathered) shd just be made to enjoy the app for their loyalty to your app for there's plenty of other apps out there worthy of us using if pymt is in place. You needed to make a judgement call to cherish and absorb your early adopters who were loyal to you AND who drove reviews to push you up there to now be known. My $0.02 worth.
