The output is beautiful and the interface is simple enough for anyone!
Could not get it to open. Kept refreshing to a black screen, no place to back out. Garbage! I want my money back!
There is no reason this app should take this long to work. As you watch it work, there are a lot of wasted strokes that don’t accomplish anything. I suppose the developer did that because they through it “looked cool”. It is the only reason I can guess why they would create such a disabled program. The options for “detail” are worse than the wasted brushstrokes in terms of quality. There is no detail, they are just smaller brushstrokes — small dots and slashes that are few and form no semblance of original image detail. The designer of this app is clueless about actual paintings.
So I don’t review a lot of apps... but wow, this app is cool. I own or have downloaded almost every pic to paint app in the App Store. I’ve tried them all. This app is freakin’ awesome. Why, because of the control, variables and adjustments you can use AND... because you can watch your painting being made as if an actual painter were creating it on a canvas right in front of your eyes.I hope (fingers crossed) that the developer finds a way to implement this in video, not just stills. I’d love to incorporate this in my own creative workflow. I understand the challenges that might pose, technically and conceptually, but hey, that’s my wish for this app.Good job guys! This app is fun. Even my 9 year old loves it!
It's an interesting app, somewhat similar to Dynamic Auto Painter in that it lets you see the brushstrokes being laid on canvas one by one and the painting being formed in front of your eyes. While it really is possible to export the image at any stage of the painting process, you MUST wait till it's 100% completed (which may take up to 5 minutes), without leaving the app, otherwise it will just crash upon your return and all you are going to see is a black unresponsive screen. The only solution to that is deleting the app and reinstalling it.Also, while the image is being painted, the large beautiful artsy brushstrokes are being laid randomly all over the canvas and they exceed the image boundaries and it looks really fantastic. However when you export the painting, it does not let you export the entire painting that you see, those beautiful brush strokes are cropped off and you just get what's inside the original image boundaries - which is logical, but it would be great to have an option to export the entire canvas including those big brushstrokes.
By TheophilusWow it really takes an eternity to do whatever it does. Have not seen any finished work. Just get tired of wating so much time.
Truly awesome app. Can not wait to see how it performs on my iPad Pro when I get it. Right now I am using iPad mini 4 and it is slow (not the apps fault - mini 4 has slow processor and not a lot of ram) but produces great results. Well worth downloading/purchasing.
•BrushWork creates realistic paintings from your photos. •Provide an image and choose a few settings to begin. •Lower settings create a looser style and finish faster. •Higher settings take longer, but can achieve more detail. •Use Focus Mode to add detail only to selected areas. •Export high-resolution images at any stage of the painting. •Save and Load paintings, a complete history is stored. •Play back the painting's history and watch the painting form.
