Second Time Mom

So I actually got this for my last couple weeks of pregnancy. Pros: it was a really fun way to pass the time. It tracks baby movement and contractions on different colored humps, I thought it was pretty cool. Cons: only works when you are sitting or laying still. Won’t work while driving in a car or if you are actually trying to move through your contractions. It disconnects/loses service from your phone if you move. Also, was hoping my husband could connect his phone and watch it from work, but it only allows one person to connect to one device. So it was fun for late nights while I was watching television and the toddler was asleep and my husband was at work. Really fun. But i wouldn’t call it a useful tool.Great customer service.

Incites Anxiety during a stressful enough time

37 weeks pregnant today.I have had my kit for one week today. I have worn it for two afternoon rest sessions (approx 1 hour each) and every night while I sleep for 8-9 hour sessions. I have monitored faithfully and have readings of 15+ contractions per hour for an average of 4/8 hours each night. Sometimes I’m sitting perfectly still and feel absolutely nothing, save for maybe baby moving, and it will read and record a 2:30m long contraction and I feel nothing. I have watched it record contractions when I feel baby moving-start exactly when he starts wiggling and ending exactly when he stops-and sometimes totally missing contractions that I DO feel (this has happened once or twice). I know it says “can pick up contractions you don’t feel”, but it seems like a cop out to make mamas who are already anxious think that they are spending their money on a worthwhile monitor. It is something to pass the time during sleepless nights, but I’m not depending on it for deciding on “go time”.

There should be room for some natural movement

Be wary friends, the idea of this device is very cool but just be aware it doesn’t read if you are moving, so if you move at night, have to do anything during the day besides sit and relax or if you do get to do sessions of sitting and relaxing they need to be at least an hour to get a questionably good reading, so if you work, need to drive somewhere, have toddlers, want to fold laundry or do anything while trying to get a good reading you will not be able to, Ive tried it for a week and really gave it the best go I could, I was willing to keep trying but CS confirmed that if you aren’t sitting still it really doesn’t do you much good.

Not bad!

It would have been perfect if you can have the ability to run custom reports and share with your doctor if you are concerned about something. There is no way you can share via email unless you do screenshots and send as jpegs which will take a long time vs just running a report. Wish they can make this information available.

So helpful in detecting preterm labor

Giving 4 stars because the app can be a bit glitchy and freeze which is frustrating. I ended up having a preemie. I knew I would because of Bloom. If the nurses at the hospital had taken the readings into account or cared about what the app data was, they could have at least tried to stop preterm labor before my water broke. The device stays charged for a really long time which I was impressed with.

Didn’t detect my contractions

I’m finally getting around to writing a review on here. I had my daughter in Feb. I was in active labor and this did not pick up any contractions. Made me second guess myself. I thought I was being wimpy or something. But I found out when I went to the hospital (30 mins after using this) that I was 7cm dilated already. I really wanted this to work because it’s a cool concept to have that data, but I doubt I will spend the money to get this my next pregnancy.

Just not accurate enough

I have used this for several weeks during a one hour nap. Even when I am completely still the information is just not accurate. It seems to pick up contractions that I am pretty sure aren’t happening and when I do feel a contraction it does not read it. I have tried resetting and using new sensors in an effort to fix. I highly doubt I will be able to use this to determine go time and therefore it has been a huge waste of money

Difficult to return

I’m not sure where else to review this but here. I didn’t actually use the monitor or the app. As soon as the device arrived I read all of the instructions and realized that the company made it extremely difficult to return. I started the return process immediately so I wouldn’t have to worry about it while I have a newborn. Customer friendly companies will include a return label, a box and stickers to seal it shut with. I already know that I am not going to have time to find a place to print out a label, buy packing tape and go to the post office. I started the return process yesterday and I have yet to hear from anyone at the company or be emailed the return label. It seems like they’re trying to get extra money out of you while you struggle to make a return and care for a newborn.

Great way to keep your record

I loved using Bloomlife because it helped me keep record of contractions! I was worried if I don’t know what contractions feel like and was worried if I could really measure it right and remember. This device is amazing!

Cool Idea, Seems Like a Beta Testing Phase

Love the idea but had a horrible time with the actual product. Like many others have said, it’s a bit misleading as you have to lay still to get a reading worth anything. The app was insanely glitchy and would get stuck “calibrating” all the time. I seriously felt like I was helping a company beta test a product that wasn’t yet ready for the market! Don’t waste your money.
