Great fun!!!

Hope y’all can make some more of point towards the coding for this synth! It’s cool to create a series of patches than play the sounds into delays/cassette decks. Good intuitive noise machine, feels inspiring to use.

This is one of my favorite noise making apps.

I’m a circuit bender hobbyist, and this app is the closest thing that you’re ever going to find to an actual circuit bent keyboard. So much glitching and noise! I wish there was a VST like this for my PC DAW. I use this app a lot with Garageband, which is kind of my “hobby-fun, music maker, idea maker” for when I’m on the go. This app is free, and there are no annoying adds. And the sounds are amazing. You never know what you’re going ti get out of it. It’s a serious, “happy accident” generator.

Yes

Such a cool app! I don't know anything about circuit bending, but I could easily play around with this for hours multiple times, and never come across the same sound twice (if you're into that sort of thing). Definitely piqued my interest in the potential to incorporate circuit bending into music.

Highly Likable

One of my current favorites for recording background ambients. I've been interested in circuit-bending but am too lazy to actually do it, so this provides a decent simulation. Sometimes the audio doesnt properly route to the headphone jack but you just unplug/replug and it works correctly.

OVERLOOKED!

Amazing app. We record these sounds at our extradimensional pizza farm and all the llamas just love the experiences these 1-10bit sounds provide them. We have reason to believe that the sounds generated by this app have amazing dynamic vibrations we can only try our hardest to comprehend. All praise be to a Llama.

NO SOUND on 6s

I love this app and I use it a lot for my music. But when I upgraded my phone from the six to the 6S no sound comes out of the app after I tried re-downloading several times but still no sound comes out of the app my wife experienced the same problem with her six but after re-downloading a few times it work please fix this app.

GEM

After some exhaustive App Store perusing for experimental music apps I stumbled upon this gem. Now I don’t have to bend my sk1 again and again... get this app folks of the fervently musical.

I love it

It’s super fun to mess with. That being said: the only problem I have is that the sounds do not play through Bluetooth headphones when they are connected. Before, when I had wired headphones, I had to unplug and replug them after starting the app in order for it to register the headphones as connected, and send the signal through them. Unfortunately, I lost my old headphones; so I no longer have them as a backup and now only use Bluetooth (which does not connect, at least on the 2020 SE) I’d like to make weird technobabble noises without everyone else hearing what I’m doing. Please fix this issue.

Description

bent.fm is a full FM model of a circuit-bent synthesizer. bent.fm allows the user to tweak classic circuit bending modifications like fine and octave-decimated clock bends, and experiment with more esoteric bends. Circuit-bent distortions and algorithmic sequences can be created by (im)proper connections on the bend matrix.

Reroute digital serial information through the base chip set (a numerically controlled oscillator) and extra logic gates (NAND and XOR, binary counters), and experience architecture-level bit crushing. For anyone interested in circuit bending, glitch sounds, industrial music, and post-procedural art. PLEASE NOTE: On the iPhone version, bent.fm only allows control of one of the oscillators due to space constraints. If you do not have an iPad, please get bent.fm lite instead, it's free! On the iPad version, bent.fm lets you re-route connections between both the oscillators. Audiobus and IAA supported!
